No luck got there at 2:45. They all went to business customers . I'm not happy that Keith didn't tell me that at 2:00 when I called and left work.
Normally I would laugh at that but truth there for sure. The team member that ringing me up was also ringing himself up for at least one and was looking at the prices on eBay to see if he should buy another. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm pretty upset at Keith too. He told they had some and to hurry so I sent my wife over there and she said the worker told her they don't have any. I told her she needed to speak to a manager because I had literally called 15 minutes prior to her getting there. I am seriously about to call Apple and escalate this. Beyond horrible customer service.
Just ran over, they had 'em, and I bought 'em. I'd called 10 min earlier and they said they didn't have either in stock. Good looking out!

This whole experience has made me really despise Apple... (Not because I was unable to buy a pencil) but for the terrible service, lack of respect, misinformation I was given, and overall just ridiculous experience.
Apple online chat and phone support were unhelpful and had no clue on how to help either.

Lots of Pencils near Denver, CO today. Picked one up at the Cherry Creek Apple Store. The FlatIrons Crossing store has them as well. Stores are not setting them out, but will pull one out if you ask about it. The Cherry Creek store is trying to limit the scalpers, I don't know if thats coming down from Apple or just this store. One per iPad Pro purchase and if you previously bought an iPad Pro without a Pencil, they want to see your receipt or will look up by Apple ID. That is probably just this store, though. Scalpers are going to get burned on this one anyway, the Pencils will be in stock everywhere shortly. Girl at store said they had quite a few and are trying to stay stocked up for holiday shopping this coming week, but will probably get more shipments anyway. They also got in a huge shipment of IPP's, as they have been out of stock at all the local stores lately, just people's orders coming in for pickup, but they have them now.

Seeing how hard a time people are having here I picked up an extra Pencil that I will sell at cost (incl. tax, shipping, and PayPal fee). DM me if interested.

Well I got mine by being persistent, I went at 10am and they had none, but I talked at length with one of the employees about the whole horrible situation. He spewed the same nonsense which at this point I completed his sentence, I then explain to him how people are coming in to buy up all the pens and scalp them and he acts surprised at this so I show him on my phone. He was very nice though and he asked about my profession and I told him I am an Art Director and he asked what company I work for and I told him.
Next he gets my information and sends it to the Apple Business department and I received a call at 11:36am to come and pick up my two pencils. I hurried up and bought them. Now this may not work it all situations but it does pay to be persistent without being rude.
What a good person you are. So rare is this world.
This is exactly what I recommended to the apple staff. I hope other stores catch on so all who own an iPad Pro can get one.
Scalpers got nothing to lose, just like anyone else they can return what they bought. So therein lies the problem, no risk to hoard pencils and try to make extra money selling them.
Apple stores need to limit purchases, helpful but not a cure all cause the scalper's buddy will be right behind them looking to buy some.

My "delayed" Staples order delivered today! I'm thinking that the person who heard that the 20th should see wide availability was correct.
Yeah the specialist I talked to said he wasn't sure that they have any. I told i was just on the phone 15 minutes ago. So he called back on his headset to the back room. Didn't get and answer or one that he didn't share. He went in the back itself to check. He came back and said they were all gone. He said the ones they did have were for business customers that already paid. He said that this should take care of the Business customer back order though. But he says people are coming in every 5 minute looking for them. I don't have time today to try dayton or Columbus.
I'll have to ask Keith to make sure that business customers didn't buy them all be for going next time. The specialist also said the get multiple shipments a day. so I'll try and call again at 4:00

Now that I heard it firsthand from you when we call to order the Apple pencil or keyboard on the automated service it ask you if it's for home or business use. I was a little concerned that they may May tailor towards more business oriented people, to get them their accessories since they are most likely the ones using them. The only thing that disappoints me there is that because this is such a new product not all business people are wanting to go out and buy this immediately and are awaiting for better apps geared towards the iPad Pro. But I am very glad that you you were as persistent as I have been in the past and were able to get one for yourself.
The only way we are going to get a hold of an Apple pencil or keyboard is by calling ahead and checking more than once daily if you are able to do so
You would think that with all these people finding pencils and canceling their web order that my delivery date would improve, but it hasn't budged.
They probably will do a bulk update once they get a better sense of the actual supply and order levels.
