I think it's crazy that people are receiving ship dates AFTER Christmas. I have to think people will have their pencils (and smart keyboards) delivered before Dec 25.

Well I just canceled my Pencil order from Apple after picking one up at Best Buy tonight so hopefully someone else will enjoy that mid-December delivery date.
At last... my precious. Just picked up a pencil at Best Buy in Fairless Hills, PA(east of Philly). Placed online order around 4pm for store pick-up. Girls at counter said they have been selling like crazy. After grabbing mine I looked in the Apple section and didn't see any on display. They may be holding stock for online only. It's definitely not alright that I ordered in the middle of the night at the time of launch and then I had to stalk Apple stores before having to walk into the soul crushing environ of a Best Buy to make my purchase - all while my original order was stuck on "processing." Not cool Apple.
Hurray. Pencil from Best Buy is working like a charm. I've cancelled my online Apple.com order so someone else can get theirs perhaps a day early (my order from launch day is still processing).
Went to my local Best Buy, Apple Store and then Staples (SW Ohio). No dice. Placed an order online with Best Buy, but will still check them out tomorrow with hopes ready to be shot down, lol.
Just scored a Pencil from the Best Buy in Orange, CA. Ordered on BB.com for in-store pickup. Wahoo
No kidding! I just cancelled my still "in processing" Apple.com order to free up a slot for someone else. Don't like that I've got to even set foot inside a BB store. #firstworldproblems
Before I scored at the Orange, CA BB I checked with a BB in West Covina and the clerk said they sold out the 10 they got within an hour of opening.
Just order one for in store pickup. I will Pickup tomorrow Saturday . Now I'll have to return the one that was just shipped to me for Tuesday delivery from BB. I'll cancel the one from Apple tomorrow

I stopped by the Apple Store in Novi Michigan at 10am and they had no pencils. Hit the Novi Best buy at 10:20am with the same result stopped by my parents about 30 minutes away. Checked Best Buy site which claimed pencil was now available for in-store pickup in Novi. Ordered one and headed back for pickup. Now have a pencil and think its completely ridiculous that it was this difficult to find.

I was finally able to get my hands on these elusive pencils! I certainly dislike the way Apple has handled (or mismanaged) this launch. I think they should have placed limits and for those that actually own an iPad Pro. I was searching for one Pencil in store and was planning on ordering a second one online to keep as a spare/back up. It was next to impossible. Today, I was finally able to order a pair from Best Buy online in the morning with delivery early next week (11/23 or 11/24) I left no chance to scalpers! BUT when I went to my local Best Buy in the afternoon to buy the Create keyboard I also ended up buying two pencils in the moment (I feared the Best Buy online orders would be delayed/cancelled...like my original Staples and Verizon orders!)
When I got home I tried cancelling the online orders but they are "Preparing for Shipment." Ironically...this morning I had 0 pencils and 12 hours later I have 2 pencils in hand and 2 pencils arriving early next week. These scalpers have cost me money just trying to avoid them! I have no need for the 2 extra ones now.
Therefore, I am willing to sell the the two extra ones if someone is interested or unable to find them. I will only charge a bit higher than cost to cover my original shipping losses. Feel free to DM me.

Looks like Ebay scalping market has dropped out. I was watching some Pencil from last night. They were going for $185 to $200+. Over night it was under $150. Now they look like $130. May shoot up again but Pencils get popping up at Best Buy. So hopefully they will return their extra Pencils to the Store since it looks like the High markup has come to an end.
What a tease! I'd be calling Staples and getting a gift card or substantial gift card for that.
Reminds of the time I once went into a Best Buy and bought a video game, only to find when I got home to play it that there was an AOL startup disc in the package.
A Best Buy about 40 miles from me said it had stock but I went to "add to cart" and it was sold out or something as it said "error" then says no pencil within 250 miles... I was so close.

I just input Portland, Pheonix, Washington, New York, and Texas zip codes and all are saying no stock within 250 miles. I'm starting to think there's an issue with the site or something.

I'm really thinking there's an issue with the site, I just tried Miami and Orlando and both say the same thing.
From all the cities I checked at least one store should have had one right?

I keep refreshing, it might be because the stores don't open until 10 am. I physically went to a local BB last night and asked if they had any, and no dice. It looked like they got a massive shipment in last night, lots of boxes all around the store being unpacked. I just have not seen any pop up in Pittsburgh area BBs.
Mine just refreshed from the error and I placed my order. Keep refreshing every 5-10 minutes and I'm sure it'll show up.

I have the same problem. Last afternoon about 2pm, I tried to locate the BB store. They told me the same thing. On Thursday, I heard Ross Park Apple Store had some at 3pm. But I had to get my class. After class, I rushed to the shadyside. Unfortunately, it was sold out. I did check there yesterday at 12pm. No luck either. However, they told me that technically they receive the shipments everyday. I'm out for seeking any luck.
That happened to me and tophermd. We are both in Chicago. Fortunately (s)he got one at Michigan Avenue and I snared one at a Best Buy yesterday. Where are you? I wonder if a single warehouse just screwed up and shipped out empty boxes. At least our cards weren't charged yet so we can still cancel our orders.
I did not ask, but it did not appear so. Everything was in the stock room in back. The only accessories I saw in front were iPhone/iPad cases, Sport Bands, speakers, headphones, etc.
Enter in the ZIP code of an actual Best Buy store. The site told me there were none within 250 miles, but then I entered in an exact ZIP and it found a store with one.No luck in Apple Store. A girl told me they receive 3 yesterday, but none today.
Best Buy is still unavailable around my location for 250 miles.
Nope. I tried 4 exact zip code for BB. None is available. Seems like no pencil would be available in Pittsburgh during this weekend.
