I second this request, your work is amazing!

Thirded.

This morning's sketches. Need to make my canvases smaller so I do not get such a smudge/blur effect on pieces.

Great work. Some of the best I've seen so far. Did you use layers? How do I accomplish the crosshatch technique that you use? You should upload a YouTube video of your progression through a picture, not a time lapsed video. I'd really love to learn from your work.

Thank you. Next time I work on something I'll try to capture a little video. I basically use the "Gel Pen" brush in Procreate, normally on the smallest brush size (1.0%). For larger background areas I'll use a larger brush.

I definitely use layers. It's the single most valuable asset to digital art. One tip I can give you if you're working in black and white, use the opacity tool (on the layer, not the brush) to control your values. In other words, draw in all black, then use the opacity tool to control your values. So I'll basically start from the darks first and work up from there.

The iPad Pro has been an amazing tool. I can simply zoom in so far on the specific section on working on. Not only that, I can erase when I mess up! Something I cannot do when cross-hatching with tradional pens. The 2nd Gen iPad Pro has much improved latency - I noticed it instantly.

Many thanks for the tips, will look forward to your eventual video. I am not quite ready for layers yet, but this is very helpful for whenever I go forward. The opacity in layers, very good idea. I use that a lot in photo manipulation, so I can imagine how well that will work in digital art.

Quite happy with this one too, I find myself starting to catch mistakes and being willing to risk fixing.

The shadow cast of her eyelashes - well that is for take two. Otherwise, happy.

I do not think any art here is mediocre, I love seeing everyone's art.

Thank you for the tips. I will be looking for your video as well. I just got my iPad pro 12.9 and the Procreate app. I have yet to use either, so at the moment I don't truly understand the usage and impact of the different terms (layers, opacity, etc) you've started. I will begin practicing soon. I have been scouring YouTube videos seeking info about the layering and other tools used in the Procreate app. Still have yet to grasp a majority of the concepts.

It's good to see the thread popping off with plenty of people posting their stuff.

Keep up the good work guys.

You, @FairyCatInPink, @Jedimindtrick, @Miks123 and so many other talented folks have inspired me to keep pushing and not be afraid to post my art. There's so much talent here, it encourages me (no, really). The iPad Pro and this community has given me a lot of confidence just to give it a shot. Thank you all. :)

I love the fish! Very cool new art style, I enjoy how you change it up every so often.

Does anyone here know of anything that works exactly like Notes’ Pencil tool, but with more functionality? (Layers etc) - I obviously prefer Procreate but apples pencil implementation is pretty slick.. just slightly lacking features. :(

here a few more I’ve done, thank you everyone that’s like the first one I posted
I like the bold colours and nice to see people with such varied styles. Devil dog is cute.

well done! first one reminds me of Death from the Sandman graphic novels. very nice.
Thanks! People have told her that in real life too, haha.

Fantastic as usual. :)Nice to see the two different styles too.
Thank you again! Enjoying your pics too. Hadnt heard of Reilly method before, it’s cool how so many different systems people have come up with to get bits where they should be.

Hi Mixel,

apparently Forge might be something like Apple Notes. I've never used it, but according to this short article from Paste magazine it might be what you are looking for?

Update: I just found another app that is iPhone/iPad compatible (It is Pencil capatible, I just paired it)

Tayasui Sketches

Here is a link it at iTunes.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tayasui-sketches-pro/id671867510?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo=4

More info at

http://tayasui.com/sketches/

The Pro version has layers.

The Reilly Method, I stumbled across it while looking through art tutorials on YouTube. I am blown away. This is the artist whose Reilly Method how to is very easy to follow and understand (now applying this to images I am drawing from might take some time). You're right about so many illustration systems, it's a bit overwhelming for me, but I am having good luck on YouTube thus far.

I really like how you use various shades of black, white and gray in your art.

So much fun stuff here.
