My 6 is starting to have some issues with the lightning connector and was planning to hope it lasts until the 7 is released. But, if the 7 removes the headphone jack, I'd probably rather get the 6s and wait a couple years before I need to upgrade my headphones. Is it pretty certain the headphone jack will be gone, or is just a wild rumor?

While just rumours they're prevalent enough that it seems likely.

Hello, I'm use to have an iPhone. I switched to a Galaxy Note 5 and really annoyed with the little nuances of the device. Thinking of switching back to iphone. Should I get an 6s+ or wait for the 7+ at this time? Don't know if I can handle 3-4 more months of this android device.

Yikes. I wouldn't be able to handle an Android for a few months. Also, when the 7 comes out, it's not guaranteed that you will have it in your hands release day. Preorders go crazy fast and sometimes you won't see the new iPhone for months. I would say get the 6S now.

Thanks! I have preordered the iPhone 4, 5 and 6. I do remember the 5 and 6 coming almosts a month later due to demand. same with the Apple Watch. Might serious upgrade now and get the 7 early next year.

I have a note 5 also. Nothing wrong with mine. It's a good phone so far. I got mine on contract last November.

I just recently lost my 6s+. I hoping I'll find it around the house someday. I really love the phone.

The problem with waiting for brand new devices is you have a potential risk getting the early models that could have issues. If you want to wait for the 7, add a month or two after they start shipping for any defects to get worked out.

So my contract expires this month in January
Back in January I said go for the 6s but now I would wait if you haven't upgraded to the 6s yet.

I was borrowing a friend's 128GB iPhone 6 Plus and got way too used to the landscape. They asked for it back, I wept in a room for seven hours, and now I'm back to using my 16GB 5C. First world problem but it's gotten difficult to retrain my brain to get adjusted back to the smaller screen, as well as the limited storage space. I think the 6S is the perfect size and have an upgrade with AT&T Next. Should I get the 6S now or wait three months for the 7?
I would buy a used 6s off of swappa and then if when the 7 comes out you really want it, sell the 6s on swappa.

At this point I would definitely just wait.

However, if you plan on waiting till 2017 to get whatever is announced then and want a plus. I'd sell the 6, not trade in and get a used 6 Plus at a deal. 6 Plus to 6S Plus has not been a huge difference. If I had to do over I'd likely have just kept the 6 Plus and waited for 7.
There is a huge difference between the IPhone 6S Plus and IPhone 6 Plus

2GB of RAM makes difference
[doublepost=1466554403][/doublepost]I am waiting for the 7S lol

Not in my experience. I've had the 6 from launch till when 6s came out. 6s since then.

Other than safari reloads from time to time, I have not seen any huge difference.

Same thing happens with games though.. I remember playing few games on 6 which while paused used to restart when trying to play it after few hours. And now on 6s it resumes even the next day.

But iOS do downgrade very gracefully and the Low RAM goes unnoticed most of the times.

Yeah, I've had the same experiences with low RAM, and not just with Safari or games. It's everyday usage too. For example, I do some house searching and typically have 3 house-searching apps being used at the same time. With my 6, the apps reload and return to the map screen every time I switch between them, causing me to briefly lose the listing I was looking at. That's just one of many examples.

The more productive I try to use my iPhone 6 (and iPad Air) the more I notice the limitations of the 1GB of RAM. For an average user, it's probably not a big deal, but for the heavy users it quickly becomes an annoying inconvenience.

Should I wait for the iPhone 7 or go for 6s?

3 months to launch of iphone 7...wait for the 7 ofcourse lol
Unless you have no phone right now...even if you have a 4S or a 5, wait for the new one.
I hate buying tech when knowing something better is around the corner.

I agree

Depending on what you can afford of course, but if you can do it I'd personally wait for it.

Now, usually I'm with you - but at some point you just need to jump in. I mean, why buy the 2016 iPhone when you know the iPhone 2017 version will be out and will - by most reports/rumors - be a pretty big upgrade in terms of design/features.

I'm actually in the market for a new phone as well - which is why I entered this thread. Both my wife's and my iPhone 6 Pluses are on the fritz. We are both growing more and more irritated with them. Originally, I had thought that the 2016 iPhone would be a nice upgrade so my plan was to burn through our Next contracts, and then upgrade to new iPhone 7's while passing down the iPhone 6 Pluses to our kids as iPods. But with them acting all craptastic, I may trade in get the iPhone 6s+ and then be in relatively the same position next year.

iPhone 6S with samsung chip has slightly worse battery life than S6. While TSMC is about equal. However the iPhone 6S plus will beat anything out of the water in terms of battery life

I have exprience with 6s with samsung chip I think its performance is better a little bit.

I went ahead and traded my note 5 in for $250 at the Apple Store and got an iPhone 6s+ and got me a free pair of beats also! The camera on the note 5 would over heat all the time and Samsung said they would charge me to look at it. It's nice feeling back at home.

i would personally get the iPhone SE because you can actually use it with 1 hand and it's absolutely a better choice unless you want 3D touch (which i don't understand)

Still don't regret jumping in a few months before the new phone releases and getting an iPhone 6s+ super snappy OS. up to date. Couldn't stand my Lollipop lagging Note 5.

If you do get a defective iPhone just take it to an Apple Store who will give you a brand new one within an hour or so.

I don't see waiting 2 months as a smart solution just to avoid a defective phone.

We don't really know what this year's phone will bring. And I'm getting my doubts that it will be called a 7 if it still looks like a 6. Maybe 6se? :) But if it isn't a significant improvement over the current models (I'm still on the 6), it may push me to try the + model (with mid level storage). If it turns out too big for me over a year, I can hand it down to someone else in the family running an older model, and who carries a purse. If I like the size, and just HAVE to get next years' model, I can buy that one with full memory, etc.

Or just keep it, and now be on the 's' line. Second year of a model, compatibility with cases, etc, but the models that have more of an internal improvement.

It seems that, historically, the 1st model of a generation from Apple has had shorter support from Apple.
Original iPhone. 3 OS versions.
3G. 3 OS versions. And it was really lagging.
3GS. 4 OS versions.
4 4 OS versions.
4S 5 OS versions.
5 5 OS versions at least.
5S 4 OS versions at least.

It seems that, the S model is when the life bumps up. At least for the 3GS and the 4S. For the 5 and later, since there hasn't been an EOL done yet, we don't know whether the 5S will bump up to 6 years or not.
