Ayye this is my first post. Took forever to get an email confirmation. -_- But I am in the same situation. I want to get the 6s Plus this summer and people keep saying to wait til September because it will be cheaper, but where should I buy it from? Is it worth it to buy it used...? I want to buy one unlocked and use it on Metro.

If you can wait until September it may be better but if you need a phone now then the 6S plus would be good. A lot of people recommend Swappa.com

This thread may be helpful for you: Is buying iPhones from Swappa safe?

Unless you don't want/need the latest and greatest, get the 6s. But I'd probably still advise waiting until Apple announces the 7, since they will discount the 6s.

I am looking to upgrade my (very old) iPhone 4s. It's very slow and it's starting to irritate me because of the small screen size. Therefore I am considering to buy the "new" iPhone 64GB but because Apple usually releases a new iPhone in Septembre, I am wondering if I should upgrade now to the iPhone 6s of wait for the possibly new iPhone 7(Plus).
Any help is much appreciated!
You didn't happen to see the pinned topic at the top of the board, did ya?

Should I Wait for the iPhone 7 or Go for the 6S?

Anybody pondering over this question in the month of July (just 2 months away from the new launch season) should question his own logic unless they are new to iPhones and knowledge on iPhone launch timelines..

It's foolish to ask this question.. It's like even if I want to buy an iPhone 6s and if it's not damm urgent (like within today), I would wait till September to get it at a sweet discount ..

At this point the next iPhone is only a couple months away, so wait unless you need a new phone now...if you need a new phone now:

I've owned both the 6 & 6s...the 6s is noticeably faster than the 6 in every way, especially TouchID, and it has more LTE bands, so more of the lower frequency bands that go through walls in big buildings. It has LTE advanced and MIMO wifi, which 6 does not, and better cameras. I would recommend the 6s, while I do not recommend the 6, at any price, as I don't think it will be fast with iOS 10 and later (no, I have no premise for this other than real world use of 6 compared to 6s, I have not used the iOS 10 beta).

Actually, if Apple makes the 7 a millimeter thinner, I may just get the 6s and call it a year. The iPod touch is 6.1 mm, which is ridiculously thin and light. It works I guess, but easy to drop. (I know, as I've had one)

How much is the old model typically discounted after the new model is announced?

I'm dumping my broken 6 then. The GPS is shot. The battery doesn't work right. It's paid off, but out of warranty. With AT&T Next the $100 difference comes out to about $4 a month. I'm just going to flip phones each year. The whole point of having a phone paid off goes out the window when it stops working.

There's nothing rumored about the 7 that's worth waiting for and the lack of a headphone jack is a deal breaker.

Maybe the exclusion of the headphone jack is a deal breaker for some, but by waiting, you are getting a better version of the iPhone for the same amount of money.

For me it's a 100% dealbreaker. Not even an option. I travel a lot for work and use my earbuds for Skype calls from the location I'm working. I don't want to deal with two sets of earbuds, having to keep up with an adapter or buying a separate set of BT earbuds that have to be charged.

What would you do? What will you do?

Got a 6s today and called it a day. The GPS and battery on my phone weren't working. At 18 months it was out of warranty. With a bad GPS and battery the value on the market was nil. Although it was paid off, it the extra money each month wasn't worth it for a broken device.

With AT&T Next the difference when it went on sale would be less than $4 a month. I got it insured this time so I won't be left holding the bag if I get another dud.

How is it so far?

I'd wait for the 7 personally. If the 6s doesn't wow you and your current phone can hold you over until September, the 7 will be the better option.
Absolutely right id wait till the iPhone 7 unless you want a headphone jack

Completely worth it. Mostly to have a working GPS. I used Golfshot GPS for golf every week and haven't been able to use it. I couldn't use endomondo to track my runs. My car is in the body shop getting some hail damage fixed. The rental has CarPlay, which is really slick- except I couldn't use Maps, now I can. I travel a lot for work and relied on Google Maps or Apple Maps to get around in different cities. I missed it a lot.

And I can still use my ear buds.

This question was posted January 3rd, 2016. I have no idea why it's pinned to the top of the forums. At this point it's pretty obvious people should wait until September unless they absolutely need a phone right now.
