Are you traveling/using your imac like this now?!
Yknow....if Apple had included a small battery that would keep the iMac powered for say 10-12 minutes, that would be great. Just enough time to switch rooms. This is definitely my “home office” computer, but it would be nice to occasionally take it into the rec room or kitchen or even the deck without powering down.

As far as HomePod, I only have a single HomePod mini. The iMac has better separation and highs, so it is easier to listen to on quiet modes. But the HPm sounds better at higher volumes, and likely will sound better in stereo pairs. But sitting right in front of the iMac, I think the built in speakers will be better for most use cas3s.

I have all my electronics on a battery backup power unit.

My home server has a 3,000VA rackmount Cyberpower UPS.

The new iMacs in this thread (in various colors) look pretty good.

At least one poster put up an image of the 24" side-by-side with the previous 21" Intel model, and the newer one doesn't seem to take up that much more space.

I couldn't stand the Apple keyboard, mouse, or trackpad, however.
Too bad they don't offer a slightly discounted version without any peripherals, for those users who prefer to "bring their own"...

… or you could post them in the for sale forum … people are clamoring for the pastel peripherals … bring your own and cash in on the demand.

Finally got my Blue M1 up and running and she is gorgeous! I felt like repositioning my desk away from my wall so I can glance at the back every now and then.
See, that looks GORGEOUS from that angle. Of course, we know it's just the lighting, but if the back actually looked that black/grey grey with a space grey stand we'd all be happy!

Ignore the gross Windows laptop, its only there for work purposes. I was actually going to make a separate thread to let people know about these $8 decals I got off Etsy since the logo less chin was bugging me after so many years of using older iMacs.

For anyone interested (I swear this isn't my shop, I think they're actually Polish), here ya go: M1 iMac Decals

I'll be honest, I was one of the people thinking the chin looked 'odd' without the Apple logo. But I actually think I prefer it without. I certainly agree with most that the white bezel actually works and looks the better for it. This is Apple though, they have some of the greatest tech designers in the world and are an image obsessed company so you KNOW they're going to have testing a plethora of designs and come up with the best outcome. I think a black bezel against the pastel coloured fronts would look odd.

Love your 70’s Marvel covers, Synistr. Especially that Neal Adams Tomb of Dracula #1.

The previous iMac was a nice design for a long time, but seeing it right alongside the new iMac now makes the 21.5 and 27 design look dated and…chunky. The new minimalist aesthetic with the colours is a breath of fresh air. It’s eye-catching and will start conversations when someone sees it on your desk for the first time. It’s bright and cheerful—which we need these days—and revives Apple’s lost sense of enthusiasm. I suspect the new MacBooks will be something similar.

Weirdly I prefer the cleaner no logo look, and I was one of those who thought it was an odd omission.
