I'm coming from a Late 2015 27 inch iMac (i5, 2TB Fusion)....great upgrade to 24 M1 iMac (16GB, 512GB SSD). I was able to reuse my OWC Thunderbolt 3 Dock and repurpose my Sabrent Rocket 2TB NVMe SSD (ie that I was using to boot the 27 inch iMac....and now use for my Lightroom Catalog and photos...about 1TB). The Sabrent is getting 2,000+ MBs read/write speeds on my TB3 port. I love the silver...so clean and works with all of my other components (Bose speakers, Lacie Drive, etc...).
BTW...the display showing a full screen photo in Lightroom...for those wondering about the 24 inch display for photo work.

I absolutely love what you’ve done there. That looked like such a tiny room before but removing that wall, using a two tone paint job has massively opened it up! Looks like such a better space to use now and perfect for a small office.
This is a great thread, all the photos are awesome.

Wanted to share my 24" silver iMac setup. I got a great deal on a secondhand 1TB 16GB Ram 8 Core GPU/CPU model. It is my first desktop Mac & I am in love with it! I recently purchased a new desk & chair and I am loving my new setup! This thread has been a lot of fun to read and I love seeing everybody's different colored iMacs & setups.

I don't think we'll see new iMacs until next year.
Rumor has ot that even if they are upgraded to the M2 this fall, the bump would only be in the 15-20% speed improvement range being it would most likely be based on the A15 (possibly the A16). Have to wait and see. If someone needs an iMac now, there is no real reason to wait for a modest bump in speed.
It may be the Macbook Air though not the iMac for sure. But again, I doubt after last event they showed that the current line up is pretty stable.
Playing the waiting game is kinda useless nowadays. We have all the power we need.
What I find most interesting in all this is the overwhelming number of people who shove their iMac up against a wall so the most vibrant aspect (the back color) is never seen. Those installs are meh. The best installations are those that showcase the back of their iMacs.

When I ordered mine, I chose silver knowing that the back would be against the wall anyway. I agree the coloured backs look great (I like the orange, blue, and green) – but for me the effect would be spoiled anyway by the inevitable mess on my desk! (And cables – I keep a few permanently plugged in, incl. a USB-A adapter, so I can easily access it from the front.)
A lot of gold accents in the house, as well as some yellow, so the yellow iMac worked quite well.

Not enough yellow 😊,best colour of the bunch 👌🏽 and the armchair is a keeper. I am 10 months in and still loving mine!

The yellow is a nice counterpoint to the blue walls. Looks very relaxing!
lol, we have the same armchair (mine's green), the same iMac (mine's silver), the same iPad and MK, the same HomePod (mine's white), the same AirPods and, until yesterday, the same desk -- I had the slate/green version but I just swapped it as it drove me insane that you can't cross your legs under it, the drawer section is just too thick. Anyway, I love the yellow theme.

The wifeys updated setup. This iMac was her pandemic baby and I got her the matching HomePods mini for Christmas. Last week we swapped the old hand me down desk for an Alex desk from IKEA so that we could turn the desk off the wall and see the prettiest part of the machine. Love the cable management of this desk, super clean - one cable running to the wall. Always fun to walk in and see the bright colorful iMac. Glad they’ve brought some joy back to (some of) the product lines.
The white desk breaks up the awesome yellow very nicely. I like it.
Lol awesome, same desk, iMac and (1) HomePod mini as myself. Definitely agree re the desk and ability to hide wires.
I noticed the resemblance of the photos and had to check again ? a cat in the Matrix moment
Got the Satechi Dualsided desk mat and it matches the pink imac perfectly (im sure the other color options do too as they directly mirror the imac options)
