I'm curious .. when your treadmill cadence picks up ... do you use Siri on your Mac Pro /iPad for data entry or navigation/launching apps? I've seen this setup at an old workplace, yet anyone with a laptop could place on a table and start.

Looks far to close to your mac and power bricks.
An arm is always better. More real estate on the office… to put coffee or gadgets or whatever. And it's like 50-80€, not 999€.
Thought it so interesting you have a apple mac pro and the book Non Obvious. The two just seem to fit perfectly together.

You're not the first 5.1 to post here. Since the ice has been broken, I'll add my 5.1 setup. Details listed in .sig below. Typically I have 4 monitors attached, but the Vega 64 can drive up to 6. I work in the area of regulatory compliance, so I need lots of video space to see multiple documents. For fun, I edit 4K drone videos, so the horsepower from the Vega 64 card goes a long way to speed up rendering on Premiere.Ohh, just seen yet this thread beeing labeled 7,1. So sorry for the old to very old machines!

I guess I can update this with my current setup, although the position of both of these on my desk is temporary. One is a photography workstation with light video use (16-core, Dual Radeon Pro Vega II modules, dual XDRs), the other will be for 4k video production, shot in ProRes RAW (28-core, Radeon Pro Vega II + Afterburner, one more XDR on the way). Both are on the desk right now as the video station is being configured, it will move to its proper home shortly.
It's like where's wally (or Waldo if your from USA).....still can't find the Mac 😬I feel like I'm the odd one out in this crowd... I have limited space in my Mac/Man Cave... Not sure where I will find the room for our new MP7,1 when it arrives in a few weeks time... I do have an increasing pile of stuff ready to be installed into it, that I have to take care not to knock it all over as the pile grows higher and higher...

Pro Keyboard! Still use mine (2006 vintage) with my 5,1 (and the 4,1 before it). I've got the 2009 wireless keyboard, tried the 7,1's keyboard, both perfectly fine, but they don't have the same feel.

Best keyboard apple ever made...there's just something about an old-school mechanical keyboard. Model is A1048. You can still get them new on eBay...for now.
