Now that’s what I like. Been waiting for this!

I’m most waiting on Quora now. I don’t use the app but Quora keeps popping up in web searches and I don’t want to create an account. Once the app comes, the website won’t be far behind.

Duolingo and OpenTable are up there too. Once these have Sign In With Apple, my wish list is complete.

It would be great to have Disqus but they don’t even have an app. I don’t have much hope for them to add it to the web.

Ha! Tile removed Facebook log in rather than add Sign In With Apple. I guess we should’ve expected this one.

They even b*tch about it in the fine print. 😂

What I don’t get is why Apple don’t chuck their weight behind “sign in with Apple”? I’d be more inclined to use a company that supports it, so why not have a dedicated section on the App Store highlighting apps that do, peer pressure i.e free advertising may push others to do so. As it stands, it’s now like any of Apple’s decisions, introduce a feature & let it languish.

I’m sure that’s coming. Apple creates App Store stories that promote the use of new features. Now that the deadline is passed and there are at least 300 apps that support Sign In With Apple, I expect that we’ll see it featured in the App Store soon.

After some back and forth with Apple Support, I’ve managed to get through to App Store staff to review some of the apps that I’ve found are skirting the rules and in some cases, deliberately finding ways to identify a user even when they choose to have their email hidden.

I found that even if you deleted the Yelp app, wiping clean any remnants of your previous logins, and then tried to create a new account using Sign In With Apple and choosing the anonymous email option, the Yelp app was actually looking at your Safari cookies to find previous instances of Yelp logins with accounts whose email address they do know, and then linking your “anonymous” account to your known email so they can continue to track you.

If you clear your cookies and the Yelp app can’t determine who you are, the app presents a Sign In With Apple error and suggests you sign in with an email instead. There are no issues signing in with Apple if you choose to let your real email be known.

This is the case with Door Dash too. I'm assuming they're looking at either the phone number or some other unique device identifier to know who it is. In any case, even if I create a fake name and use a new hidden email, when it logs in it has my full name, phone number, past orders and even stuff I had in my cart.

I wouldn’t be too surprised that if they do this, there will be some “anti” something investigation that will be launch by watchdogs lol

Did you report Pinterest? hahahaha I guess Safari should add block against fingerprinting so these can be avoided.

CAROUSELL now has SIWA

Pinterest stopped hiding Sign In With Apple on initial launch which was my main complaint about how they were sneakily getting around the Sign In With Apple guidelines. They still don’t allow you to hide your email but I’m certain this must be an option in the API, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to change the pop up card. I’m surprised that more developers haven’t figured this out and/or taken advantage of it.

The ‘Anchor’ Podcasting app has implemented SIWA. Version 3.30.0

It seems a lot of apps have been updating their apps to support SIWA lately..the more the merrier!

I had added that one a while ago but if you see any others, please add it to the list on the first page. We’re at about 300 apps so far. Many more that we might not see will be adding Sign In With Apple now that the deadline has passed.

Hi iPedro, I’m happy to add them on but I don’t know how 😅

I reported in the past that Kroger had added SIWA. I just noticed today that SIWA has since been removed and the only way is to use username + password now.

Additionally their website supports sign in with google but not Facebook nor Apple.

I do not know when I was removed.

Nike Run Club updated again and it seems like social media logins are truly dead, at least in their Canadian app. Someone told me they still had theirs in the US.

This is what I see:

Reddit updated their app and seem to have completed the rollout of Sign In With Apple.

You can now go into your profile settings and Connect an Apple ID, including a hidden email option.

I don’t know how long it’s had it but I just noticed that Hinge allows you to connect your Apple ID to Sign In With Apple.

Hotels.com and Cars.com both offer Sign In With Apple.

Wix.com has fixed their dead end by adding Sign In With Apple to their site.

The web presence of Sign In With Apple is spreading fast now.¹ I’m coming across websites with SIWA before I notice the app has it.

I’ve also been noticing that some sites and apps are increasingly offering a binary choice of Apple or Google, representing the two major platforms.

Byte is one example:
E5DC9574-AFEB-42AD-B63E-AB774A51D8EF.png

Facebook is increasingly looking like the odd one out. Why would you sign in with Facebook if your platform offers a native sign in? Ultimately, websites will offer users the choice that represents their platform and Facebook, Twitter and even email will be unnecessary.
