I still cannot see any SIWA in my Reddit app.

I noticed the exact same thing today, wanting to associate my existing account with SIWA. I did not see the option on the log in/sign up screen and there was no option to connect to Apple/Google in the settings.

In the end, I deleted and re-downloaded the app and lo and behold, that did the trick!

I created a Ubisoft account with a hidden email address using the Ubisoft Club app. Their implementation is also broken in that I never receive a verification email to verify the email address.

I contacted their support, and this was the answer:

In this case we would advise speaking with the Apple Support if you wish to continue using this relay/private email service as this is not something we can assist with.

I would advise telling them that certain emails from this for instance our service are being bounced or unavailable to you.

Which is of course ridiculous, as other services are able to send me emails through Apple’s relay service just fine. I have not yet replied to the support message as I feel it’s not my job to educate a huge company like Ubisoft how to make their apps and implement APIs. But perhaps instead of waiting I should do something? I’m not sure what, though.

BrewDog have added SIWA for their app which allows you to order beer for delivery and order at their bars.

oh! Thanks. It really works!

Duolingo waited until the last possible minute and then removed all their social sign ins instead of adding Sign In With Apple. I guess we know where they stand on user privacy. Delete!

Update: Duolingo got sneaky and went around the App Store approval process. While they removed Facebook and Google sign in on the login screen, they buried it deep inside the settings as Connected Accounts. Sign In with Apple is not an option.

Between this and the secretive clipboard copying, I’m starting to realize that not only are there a lot malicious developers, but App Store reviewers are incompetent and easy to fool.

We’re now well over 300 apps listed here. 316 to be exact. I recall the early days when I started this thread because there were less than half a dozen apps to try Sign In With Apple with.

Seeing that I’m now organically coming across apps that use Sign In With Apple without having to search for them, I think we’re well on our way for Apple’s sign in method to becoming ubiquitous.

I appreciate the work you have put into this thread. It has been helpful.

Quizlet updated their app today Which includes both Facebook and Google, but not SIWA.

Also, I noticed that the Kroger app on the iPad allows for SIWA but not on the iPhone.

Feedly (RSS) added full siwa support in their app and website.

can someone add this to the wiki? I’m to new on this website.

I logged out of Feedly and when I went to SIWA, it wanted to use my actual APPLE ID (which showed) email, instead of the private relay email. Not good. I did not continue. Looks like either a glitch or trying to circumvent the rules.

Edited to add: Hide my email address was checked. As such, it shouldn’t have shown on the sign up page. I think Feedly wants to sell email addresses.

Showing the hide your email on Sign Up and then showing just your Apple ID when signing in, is expected behaviour. It’s not giving them your email. You’re just signing in with your Apple ID. The app doesn’t see it. It just receives the appropriate token for your account. Every Sign In With Apple app works this way.

My previous post was talking about the Feedly website SIWA.

Several SIWA entities have shown my Apple relay address instead of my real address when signing up. That is why I was questioning this. Not every site is following the same procedure it seems.

Edited to add: It showed what you were speaking of, Pedro. I went ahead and created a new account.

The relay email isn’t supposed to show to users.

Here’s the introduction of Sign In With Apple at WWDC 2019:

The relay email is irrelevant to users and shouldn’t really be seen, other than in the settings for reference and troubleshooting. What matters is that the app sees the relay email and the user sees their real email to which the relay will forward to. The process is supposed to be invisible.

Do you have any screenshots of sites or apps where the relay email was shown on sign up?

The developer of FoodNoms shows how to be a responsible dev who cares for the best interests of their users.

Bravo!

This is a big contrast to Anylist’s developer who came up with a fake list of “problems” and then blocked users on twitter who pointed out the obvious solutions to his “problems”.

Fortnite has added Sign In With Apple on the web but not yet on their app. Should be coming soon I’m guessing.

While it’s still not available on iOS (the update is probably still in app review), I’m pleased with their implementation. It already works even in the Epic Games desktop client (at least on macOS) and it fully supports a hidden e-mail address. So you can have a full-fledged Epic Games storefront account with the SIWA privacy protections. Very sweet!
