Shame how the boss's car got keyed a few days later. But it's only a slight scratch. Only see it in daylight when you look at that side.

Someone wants to see my $1,000 phone they need to hand me security deposit first, of $1K.

Also reason I refrain from handling other people's phones and other property. I would feel compelled to compensate them if I damaged their phone. If I want to check an item out, I go to the store and handle the display models.
Same. It's sad that I would replace someone else's phone for damaging it at all, but other people don't think it's a big deal if the phone still works.

Dropped mine out of my car yesterday. Have the apple leather case on, but the bottom exposed area got nicked. It now shines a bright silver, honestly, looks pretty cool.

A little background... a wild turkey attacked the door (scratched the crap out of it) of his jaguar and he didn't care. He doesn't live in the same world I do.

Your boss is an A__hole.

I called it a dick move.

Table wouldn't bother me, unless it was a really uneven hard surface (like concrete)
Obviously I can't speak for others

The table actually has a rough surface is hard to explain but it has lines in it.

I used my JB iPhone for 5 weeks with an Apple leather case until I went to the desert one night and my screen got micro-scratches surely from the sand (I don't put screen protectors). I have AppleCare and thought if the screen is scratched, then might as well get scratches in the back. Now I'm caseless and loving the feel of the bare iPhone.

I just got a 256gb Jet Black 7 Plus. I'm probably gonna leave the original plastic on the phone as long as I can. >.<

New to the thread. I've had my JB 7+ 256GB since launch day. I recently decided to stop using screen protectors (starting w iPad Pro 12.9) and only using a case (Apple Silicone) for my iPhone when I'm at work so I'm basically using it unprotected. In the almost 3 months since I got it you can see the microabrasions along the bottom edge BUT only if you're looking for them. I have a few other decent size scratches on the back of the phone but again, you have to catch it in the light just right to be able to see it. For me personally I feel like I bought a phone (granted one of the nicest and shiniest) and I'm gonna use it like my daily phone without babying it or being careful. With that in mind anyone wondering if JB is for them - it's tougher than you think. I love it and don't regret getting it.

Seeing as how all we've really seen so far are reviewers dragging knives down their phones and throwing them in a bag and of bolts, I'm curious as to how the Jet Black phones are really holding up in real life use. I'm getting mine delivered tomorrow.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!
[doublepost=1481216065][/doublepost]It's looking good. It polishes up really well and doesn't slide out of my hand.

This is exactly why people like your boss feel like it's OK to mistreat others and their property.

Well if it would have been badly scratched I would have spoke up, but since its hard to see then its not worth the trouble. Not willing to loose my job over my phone.

My case-less Jet Black iPhone is holding up well.

When I look at the back I don't see anything at all, but when I hold it up to a light in my office I can see fine scratches coming up from the bottom of the phone. I assume this is from me sliding the phone into my pocket.

2 months in, I'm very happy with how it's holding up.

*drops phone and shatters screen*

Welp, I guess that $10 case was worth it afterall.

Nope. Phones still in excellent shape. And it isn't about the cost of a case it's the bulk added and covering this beautiful color.

Just checking in. I've had my jet black iPhone 7 for about a month and a half now and it still looks fantastic. The abrasions can only be seen up close if you're looking for them, so I'm still very happy I went with this color.

So the boss wanted to see my iPhone (Jet Black 128GB) so I took it out of the case and handed it to him. He looks at it for 5 seconds says I'm getting another Android then slides it across the table to me. When I say "slides it across the table" I'm talking like 2 feet. It received scratches mainly at the bottom. The bright side is they are difficult to see nonetheless they are there. Nothing like sliding someones 900$ phone across a table.
Play with his android phone in a parking lot and drop it. After it drops and you pretend to pick it up, kick it across the parking lot.

The first scratch is always the deepest. Honestly, I've only seen a very light scuff on the bottom edge of the glass, on the bottom of the phone (oleophobic coating) but otherwise the phone has held up well. I keep it in an Apple leather case.

I have AppleCare, so I don't really care all that much, I put a PEEL case on it and no screen protector ... I've dropped it a couple times, and have a couple chips around the edges, but other than that, the scratches are not terrible, noticeable, but not terrible. Just ordered a jet black PEEL case, so I could get full effect, although as it gets closer to September, I will take that off all together ....

LOL.. He has a Galaxy S5 and that thing is a piece of crap. I'd like to do as you say and drop kick it like I was going for the winning field goal.

Ahahaaa I hold 10 days plastic over screen, I couldn't hear people good until finally I found nice Tempered Glass.
Screen should be protected with Tempered Glass at least first 6 months or year. I would feel bad to scratch screen in mean time.

I just ordered the jet black peel too. How is the peel? It's my first one. Sounds like it's just a really thin piece of plastic that they are coloring close to jet black.

Got an iPhone 7 Jet Black 128GB about 2 weeks after launch. It's holding up perfectly, not really any scratches that I can see. Of course I have a case on it.

Everyone asks me why I cover the nice glossy finish...honestly it's because I'm a case fanatic and love changing cases a lot (just to change up the look). Also, I will most likely sell it once the next iPhone comes out and while I'm not careless with my phones, the extra peace of mind goes a long way ;)
