I just ordered the jet black peel too. How is the peel? It's my first one. Sounds like it's just a really thin piece of plastic that they are coloring close to jet black.
Peel is good for the minimalist look ... once you drop, Peel will crack, so it's not really durable, but it will protect phone from back scratches. I'm going on my 3rd one now, .... elgato makes some that are a bit cheaper and same quality / design, peel has no branding so that's the appeal there ...

I got the Peel case. Had it on for a few days. I found it a bit slippery. While at best buy looking at alternative cases, I removed it and it cracked at the lightning port.

Im not that impressed with the Peel case

I've had my JB a couple of weeks now and she's still unmarked, unblemished even though I've only used a case on her a couple of times. Usually when going out I do put her into a microfibre pouch (meant for sunglasses but fits perfectly), and that protects her against stuff in my purse. If I know I'll be using her a lot while I'm out I do put her into an Apple case before leaving the house, and still use the pouch as well (to protect the screen).

I pretty much threw mine in a case as soon as I got it, which I know defeats the purpose of owning the Jet Black Color. I had it ceaseless for half a day and it was an absolute fingerprint magnet that needed to be constantly wiped down. I've been looking for a good transparent case that can show off the Color and not have the watermark effect, and I think I finally found one by Spigen. I'll be happy to see the Color while still having it protected.

I used my JB iPhone for 5 weeks with an Apple leather case until I went to the desert one night and my screen got micro-scratches surely from the sand (I don't put screen protectors). I have AppleCare and thought if the screen is scratched, then might as well get scratches in the back. Now I'm caseless and loving the feel of the bare iPhone.
Same here, I use the leather case on my JB 7 no screen protector. The lip on the case allows me to set the phone down screen side down. I put the case on in the Apple Store during phone setup, I have noticed micro scratches on the back. AC+ is my bombproof case :)

Hail AC+! So happy I made the courageous move to go caseless. JB feels amazing in my hands.

Well I got annoyed with the plastic and took it off.

It's fine so far. Always set it down on a Microfiber cloth. Always wrap it in said cloth while putting it in my coat pocket.

I hate cases so much with iPhones. I might spring for a high quality pouch though.

I love my JB it some micro scratches but I can live with that. it is very grippy (I love that). I do alternate between using a case and going caseless I think I'm going to remain caseless though

My JB doesn't have that, but on the edge near the screen a tiny (seriously tiny like as small as a threading needle head size spot) ... it's so damn tiny I almost didn't see it.

Not worth the gamble, for me, to end up with a unit with messed up screen issues, buttons, etc. Plus it's therapeutic for my OCD

This also happened to my JB 7 in the last few days. Had the phone 3-4 weeks. No case but always super careful and kept in my pockets on its own with no keys/coins etc. Phone hasn't been dropped and doesn't have a single mark/scratch on it.

It's as if it's chipped or peeled/flaked away? Took it to Apple Genius Bar last night and they refused to accept it was a manufacturing fault and kicked me out the door.

Really disappointed with this.

Did you know it was a girl before you bought it? I heard that lots of people are using ultrasounds now to find out.

Again fully careless after trying a couple of cases. It has a couple of small scratches only seen in certain lighting.

The feel of the phone naked and how beautiful it looks is totally worth it. I'm just extra careful where I place it and how I pick it up - no biggie.

Also rocking AC.

Been rolling raw dog for three months since new. Yes it picks up human grease. Yes it shows swirls and scratches. Yes it is made of unflawlesstanium.

I've had mine for about a week and a half now and noticed some small micro abrasions on the very top of the phone. These were likely caused by taking it in and out of various cases I was trying. It's not very noticeable but still sucks because it's so new.

How does it hold up from a three-foot drop? A few months of using my iPhone 6s Plus rose gold bare and all that resulted from a roughly three-foot drop was two very minor white scuffs on the side it fell on, otherwise flawless.

My Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus did come with two or three scratches out-of-the-box (all documented), so I'm not sure whether that's a sign to replace it or just skip the Apple leather case I ordered.

Could you polish the jet black with an automotive swirl and haze remover that would fill in the scratches and make them less noticeable? Just curious. I got the matte black.

No, would just cause more abrasions.
