And I also said chances are it'll be broken later today. This is what keeps happening. Works. Don't work. Works. Works. Works. Dont work.........

Tell Apple when it‘s broken again. Every set of data is valuable - and the fact that it is working now proves that somehow, someone did something to repair said feature. Easy, right?

Or it just fixed itself as Apple sure as heck ain't able to do it for the last 4 months.

Im guessing this is a new feature... that there's a reason for the behavior... maybe the mail push was killing battery so they made it not push until the app is opened - thats all I can think of... it's insane to me that THIS is still hanging around after so many updates... it has to be intentional.

I just had the problem of no badge notifications. I was suspicious about not receiving any messages, and sure enough, when I opened Mail, it downloaded five six-hour-old messages.

I’m so fed up with this.
I hope your badges have been activated for Inbox as well as Favorited mailboxes.

I have actually legit lost work because of this. I hadn’t checked my email in about an hour as I hadn’t heard any pings or seen any alerts and was waiting on a reply for work. Sure enough when I checked the app, I got four emails that came through, one of which was something I needed to reply within a matter of 15-30 mins of getting in order to secure work. All of the emails I got were 40-50 minutes old.
So fed up with it that I downloaded Edison and Spark and gonna see which one I like best and go from there.

Haha! No chance apple are fixing this. I've reported it far too many times. As have many many many others.

Hope is like the sun; if you only believe in it when you can see it then you're going to have a rough night.

Weird I was thinking this exact thing. It's not such an issue for personal, but how many business people have lost accounts and stuff because of buggy mail?

This is completely unacceptable and Apple won’t listen to feedback. This has reassured me that Apple really doesn’t care . I have returned a 256 gb iPad Pro 11 because of this and the bugs in messages. I think it’s time to move on and vote with my wallet.

Got quite excited last night, installed the 13.4 PB and the first two test emails I sent myself came straight into the inbox on opening the Mail app. This morning however it's still doing the same old pull to refresh or wait 30+ seconds before they appear.

I've had a problem for months .... turn my phone on (or reboot - whatever) and the first lot of emails to come through don't play any notification sounds; silently appearing in the notification centre. Subsequent ones are fine. Until the next off/on. Anyone else have this?

Mines been stable today. Very weird behaviour after months of being broken. Probably won’t last though.

No apologies. This is disgusting. The best we can do is to ask real journalists to write about it. Encourage journalists of well-known tech websites (not MacRumors; they don’t get enough hits) to write about this problem. Real websites of journalistic integrity need to stop worrying about copy and need to start thinking about actual reporting. You all know how this website makes money, don’t you?

It’s a “look away” problem for Apple. “Look away”, it doesn’t happen. Gaslight thousands of users; “look away”; it never happened.

it never happened. You’re all full of s***.

This is a serious issue that should not be gaslighted.

I won't for a second doubt that this email bug is a problem. Yes, it's a problem.. I see it here too. But, please don't allow negativity to be your soapbox. If you allow negativity to feed you then it will snowball and soon it will seep into other areas of your life. And, pretty soon you'll be the person who is alone because no one wants to associate with you.. well, no one except other negative people.

Why being so philosophical dear.
