I love you all. I just want the goddam Mail app to be fixed. I’d buy you and Apple a goddam drink, just to fix this goddam app.

Because it hasn’t.

Apple Listen. Apple Listen. Listen. Listen. Listen. Now.

I’m still on 12 with my 6s plus. Does this mail app problem include the 6s plus if so I guess I’ll continue to wait.

For me, Mail on 13.4 B1 has definitely been a marked improvement - still some wobbles though:

1. Threaded emails often don’t display correctly

2. The blue icon to expand/collapse threads has a much smaller hit area on 13.4 - this is driving me nuts because I keep going into the message as opposed to expanding/collapsing the damn thread

3. Still have problems with unread email badges, these are either completely off trajectory or completely disappear at times (it’s almost like the app has a mind or mood of its own and just decides to erratically misbehave)

4. Emails and previews still take very long to load

No idea what they’ve done to this app under the hood that has botched it so horrifically.

I hope you have reported.

(Incidentally - a sidebar to this issue, involving one of the alternatives -

Trying Outlook while Apple fails to fix the delivery process (no such problem with Outlook), and I get the twice-daily Briefings from the NY Times. Only when the Briefing comes in, the entire email is not there. You go a few stories down, and you come to a 'Read More' button. Click that and you are sent to the web, to see the remainder of the Briefing in, I guess, Safari.
Yet in iOS Mail - when it does...eventually...arrive, the entire Briefing is there. No 'Read More' button, no re-direction. As an app, it's delivering the full email.

I've told Microsoft about it (with screenshots) but they've yet to find a reason or solution.

Just saying, there seems to be a lack of care / interest when it comes to some email app providers these days)

It's like people begging Apple here to fix mail. Same big company deaf ears.

But still, if the main mail features work then that sounds like a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme to have to view 1 email type on the webpage. It just sounds like a truncating issue.

3rd party apps have to use uiwebview (deprecated) or wkwebview to render the html body of emails. These are gimped versions of the full rendering engine that the native apps like mail and safari use. It’s not the fault of Microsoft, these are limitations placed by Apple for all ISVs. (This is also why 3rd party browsers are slower than safari)

So every time I send out an email, only for me to realise that is got stuck in Outbox. I had to manually go to the Outbox and hit the send icon. Only then the email gets sent out. Does this happen to you guys?

After a week on 13.x on my IP8, I've not had any major problems yet. The only Mail-related problem is that while I get the new message badge on the icon, when I open Mail to read them, it now takes 3-5 seconds to connect and download messages, which I find utterly annoying. I'd happily give up 5-10% battery performance per day to have that a seamless process.

Really annoying issue this, lots off people complaining about it but Apple don't seem to think it is important.

Anyone know if it has been fixed in 13.4 beta 2 release yesterday.

Not fixed for me. IPP. 3-5 seconds almost every time. Such a joke.

I didn't have this problem in the previous beta, but I do now. So for me, it's getting worse, as the other small bugs I've had with mail since 13.0 are still there.

I can also attest to it not being fixed in 13.4 beta 2. Although I no longer have the problem where it says “1 unread” and the message isn’t downloaded, it takes 3 to 5 seconds on average for a message to appear in the inbox after badge notification.

I’m going to assume this is a “feature” now or a compromise for whatever ram management tweaks they made.

Whoever thought people would not be annoyed by this regression must’ve been smoking crack. I remember Eudora in Windows 3.11 downloading text emails at about the same speed. Software quality at Apple is really going downhill; sometimes I wish there were an alternative between this and Android.

At this stage, it would be easier for apple to buy another email app developer who knows how to develop for ios

I’ve had my fill. Have migrated solely to the Outlook app which is working great. I am on the 13.4 Beta 3. Only reason I jumped on the beta wagon again to hope and pray for a fix to the Mail App.

I jumped on the wagon again for the same reason, only to get the bug back where it tells me how many unread messages I have but shows nothing in the mailbox.

I’m also having Mail problems on the Mac. I think I’ll switch to Outlook across all platforms. Apple has its head up its a** this year.

I’ve been happily using Outlook for a few months until they broke Gmail support a few weeks ago. Now whenever you reply to a gmail message outlook creates BOTH a sent mail AND a draft. Clutters your mailbox with dozens of drafts even after the mail is sent. This only happens for Gmail accounts. I’ve tried re-installing outlook, resetting accounts etc to no avail. Lots of complaints in the App Store feedback about it

It’s been flawless for me so far but I never send emails via gmail anyway.
