Do you need the 64gb one to get 400GB/s?
Imac yes, it can go up to 64.. but the mac pro with 128 at this point it will not just reach 3090Ti it will succeedBut Apple can go higher than this for the 30" iMac or the Mac Pro. They can go 64 and 128 Core and match/exceed 3090Ti. It seems easily doable at this point.
M1 Max DuoI wonder what they will call the chip that goes into the Mac Pro. They have used up Pro and Max. Maybe Extreme? Pro Max? I assume the larger iMac and higher end Mac mini will get the M1 Pro and M1 Max.
M1 Pro Max Plus.I wonder what they will call the chip that goes into the Mac Pro. They have used up Pro and Max. Maybe Extreme? Pro Max? I assume the larger iMac and higher end Mac mini will get the M1 Pro and M1 Max.
I was thinking about this too. Actually I think it’s quite simple. Just how macs back in the day had multiple CPU’s I think Apple will just say 2x M1 Max and 4x M1 Max.I wonder what they will call the chip that goes into the Mac Pro. They have used up Pro and Max. Maybe Extreme? Pro Max? I assume the larger iMac and higher end Mac mini will get the M1 Pro and M1 Max.
they did the exact thing with the introduction of M1...and that chart was real..so..stop ..or at least come here again after you will have it in your hands or others will show the real deal in real lifeThat graph is BS but to be expected of marketing. Doesn't say what it's doing or running. And, they purposely chose worst case for the comparisons like probably an old Intel Macbook because no way M1 is that much better in performance than Intel 11th gen Xe iGPU.
This time around they actually listed the specific PCs they compared it to.they did the exact thing with the introduction of M1...and that chart was real..so..stop ..or at least come here again after you will have it in your hands or others will show the real deal in real life
he doesnt even understand how this work..or he is ignoring the historyI'm wandering what are you doing here on a Mac forum if you think that Macs are crap, seems your sole scope here is to bash Mac products.
I’ll take an M1 Hermès. $25,000 is about the price of a Birkin bag.M1 Pro Max Plus.
M1 Edition.
M1 SE.
M1 Steve Variant.
M1 We Think You Are Going To Love
I think the larger iMac and Pro mini will get the M1 Pro and Max. So it’s just the Mac Pro left to configure. We dont even know if it uses M series name. So far, M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max are mobile SoC chips and all Apple Silicon product so far are laptops and desktop with mobile chips. So it might be different on desktop computers.
exactly, so its even more specific...again, i dont expect to be on par with mobile 3080..but still, even 3070 is significant while in the past...the dGpu that we got was not a top oneThis time around they actually listed the specific PCs they compared it to.
Yeah. I think Legal told Tim Cook it’s better to list the actual comparisons this year. But in any case given that these MacBook Pros can compete with the highest end gaming laptops on battery while weighing half as much, or less is impressive.exactly, so its even more specific...again, i dont expect to be on par with mobile 3080..but still, even 3070 is significant while in the past...the dGpu that we got was not a top one
This has been my theory all along, that M doesn't stand for Mac but for mobile. So I bet the iMac 30" and Mac Pro chips will be called D1 or something else.We dont even know if it uses M series name. So far, M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max are mobile SoC chips and all Apple Silicon product so far are laptops and desktop with mobile chips. So it might be different on desktop computers.
I’d say it was probably marketing who recommended that, if anything! What does legal care?Yeah. I think Legal told Tim Cook it’s better to list the actual comparisons this year. Marketing likes to push the envelope. Legal told upper management that vague comparisons open them up to lawsuits.I’d say it was probably marketing who recommended that, if anything! What does legal care?
True but after using the 16" MBP, I'd suppose no one will want to downgrade from a 1000 nit 120Hz display. I'll be spoiled the moment I lay my eyes on the display. 😂Well there is the 5k LG UltraFine TB3 monitor. That gives you a panel similar to the 5k iMac's.
to be more accurate you have to place specific hardware in comparison...so people could see and buy accordinglyI’d say it was probably marketing who recommended that, if anything! What does legal care?
Why do you say that? If you extrapolate results from the M1 on 3D games like Tom Raider, you expect the M1Max to match the mobile 3080.Well guys, curb your enthusiasm. This was probably in some video content creation workflow where UMA gives Apple a big advantage.
Ignoring HBM2 huh?
No, you need anything M1 MAX. So anything with the 24-core or 32-core GPU, with either 32GB or 64GB of RAM.Do you need the 64gb one to get 400GB/s?
What they won't tell you is you have to get 64GB for multi-channel memory bandwidth otherwise it probably diminishes with every step down.
you really think that the mobile 3080 is just 4x more powerful? i thought its around 6x timesWhy do you say that? If you extrapolate results from the M1 on 3D games like Tom Raider, you expect the M1Max to match the mobile 3080.
