But Apple can go higher than this for the 30" iMac or the Mac Pro. They can go 64 and 128 Core and match/exceed 3090Ti. It seems easily doable at this point.

Imac yes, it can go up to 64.. but the mac pro with 128 at this point it will not just reach 3090Ti it will succeed

I was thinking about this too. Actually I think it’s quite simple. Just how macs back in the day had multiple CPU’s I think Apple will just say 2x M1 Max and 4x M1 Max.

That graph is BS but to be expected of marketing. Doesn't say what it's doing or running. And, they purposely chose worst case for the comparisons like probably an old Intel Macbook because no way M1 is that much better in performance than Intel 11th gen Xe iGPU.

We dont even know if it uses M series name. So far, M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max are mobile SoC chips and all Apple Silicon product so far are laptops and desktop with mobile chips. So it might be different on desktop computers.

I think the larger iMac and Pro mini will get the M1 Pro and Max. So it’s just the Mac Pro left to configure.

Yeah. I think Legal told Tim Cook it’s better to list the actual comparisons this year. But in any case given that these MacBook Pros can compete with the highest end gaming laptops on battery while weighing half as much, or less is impressive.

This has been my theory all along, that M doesn't stand for Mac but for mobile. So I bet the iMac 30" and Mac Pro chips will be called D1 or something else.

Marketing likes to push the envelope. Legal told upper management that vague comparisons open them up to lawsuits.

True but after using the 16" MBP, I'd suppose no one will want to downgrade from a 1000 nit 120Hz display. I'll be spoiled the moment I lay my eyes on the display. 😂

to be more accurate you have to place specific hardware in comparison...so people could see and buy accordingly
Now, if those chart are AWAY from the truth...consumers can legaly sue Apple for misinformation in a lot of EU countries
So, these charts are close enough with the reality.Tim would not allowed that , from legal point of view, if those charts are half real
Bottom line, from legal stand point , this is Fantastic that they showed the hardware with whom is compared

No, you need anything M1 MAX. So anything with the 24-core or 32-core GPU, with either 32GB or 64GB of RAM.

Everything M1 PRO gets 200GB/s, whether 8-core CPU/14-core GPU sad binned 14" version, or the 16-core GPU. Either 16GB or 32GB RAM.

The MAX has the extra RAM channels. Whether those RAM channels are connected to big RAM modules or small RAM modules doesn't affect the bandwidth.

What they won't tell you is you have to get 64GB for multi-channel memory bandwidth otherwise it probably diminishes with every step down.
