Yeah...I agree. It's unfortunate. I just don't understand...why do people still support apple when they would be treating customers like that....like a poor bastard.

I would be the last to try to convince anyone that Apple's hardware, OS and software environment is ideal or even close - it isn't. It has failures, gaps and head-knocking irrational logic flaws liberally sprinkled all around. The reason my mobile tech "persona" has gone to Apple is because the alternatives, which I have used extensively, are even worse.

To quote the old commercial: "What's a mother to do?"

Just ran a load of XCode debugging with Instruments.

iOS9 FPS is awful - feel free to check yourself.

Also, noticed backboardd never idles down when the phone is off - it constantly runs at 0.5%-1% cpu usage. My girlfriend's 8.4.1 device's backboardd idles at 0% with occasional 0.3% spikes every 5-10 seconds (this is normal usage in my experience).

Like I said, go install XCode, run some Instruments tests on System Activity/FPS/GPU load and see for yourself.
You must have a defective phone:rolleyes:
Every iPhone runs iOS differently, even though that's completely impossible due to iOS design

Yeah, it's been like that with many x.0 releases, and in particular from the last few major versions.

Sincerely, give the 9.1 PB a try. It's very possible you'd find it a noticeable improvement. You should have no trouble going back to 9 if it doesn't suit.

Reading some of these comments, I have no idea why people continue to buy Apple products. If you complain about everything Apple does and really think Apple goes all-in on planned obsolescence, why keep giving them your money? I'd never keep buying things from a company if I consistently disliked their products and really thought they were trying to subtly screw me over every year.

I'll run more later, but my girlfriend's iPad Mini 1 running 8.4.1 has 60FPS scrolling in Settings.
My iPhone 5S starts at 20 FPS then ramps up to 50FPS.

My guess is iOS9 has a sort of Android style Governor going on to limit CPU speed dynamically, hence why stuff lags, then eventually feels better

Because even with its problems, it's still better than the other options out there.

Finally someone who gets it! This is a classic example of planned obsolescence which is used by many companies still to stimulate spending...

I'm not so sure. I recall iOS 8 running this bad at the start on a brand new iPhone 6. I was pretty annoyed about it at the time if i'm honest. It's taken until 8.4.1 to get exactly where it should be, then they go and release iOS 9... back in its poor state. It's a horrible system they have going here. Bust... Boom and then instant bust.

Think even Android dropped that for the UI. That's how they got their slickness when this project butter thing began.

Damn after 3 days of iOS9 it actually started to feel okay, but just reinstalled 8.4.1 and holy crap it's like butter.

I wish I was exaggerating, but it's ridiculously smooth

Agreed, What other options are there? Android? Been there done that, laggy as hell even with decent hardware, Windows Phone? Been there OK its snappy yes, maybe almost as good as apple but the app situation is dire.

I had a similar experience, I am not sure if iOS 9 did improve or perhaps I just got used to the lag but when I went back to 8.4.1 it was really noticeable how snappy it was.

So I have a question... What lag is everyone experiencing? I don't have any scrolling lag. The only lag I experience is the spotlight search bar and it's not really lag I guess. It's just not silky smooth when pulling that screen down. The other lag I'm experiencing is the card view. When you scroll left and write of the homescreen card, there's slight stuttering when it slides and comes to a stop.... I don't have lag at any other screens or whatever. I still think I prefer 8.4 over 9 for the time being. How do I go about reverting back to 8.4? And is it legit to revert back? It's not like hacking the phone in any way is it? If I revert back to 8.4 could I also re-download IOS9 anytime I want and upgrade? Or do I have to upgrade a special way after downgrading?

Thanks in advance!

I'm getting that, but I'm also getting intermittent pauses and hiccups, opening apps and sometimes inside an app with certain transitions. Sometimes an app can take 1-2 seconds to open, I haven't seen that since using Touchwiz. It's not always, it's somewhat random. I'm really really surprised because ios8 was so buttery smooth and I can't recall seeing it lag ever.

It's not like there is anything great about iOS9 anyway, nothing I'll miss anyhow. For the life of me I don't know why it was called iOS9 and not iOS8.5, it's not worthy of an entire number update.

Anyhow I'm going to wait and see how it runs on my 6s plus next week, I'm hoping the new hardware is enough to handle it. If not then hopefully there is a way to downgrade an S model.

For me it is usually not laggy but can be sometimes, even with simple things like returning to the main menu. Not good for an official release.

Even though some Apple fans swore it wasn't.

Going to try a fresh install now to see if its any less laggy on my iPhone 6.

Getting the iPad 1 form iOS 4.3 to iOS 5 vibe. Not as unusable but pretty damn annoying.

Useable? Yes

Does it feel like a blazing fast and modern OS on an iPhone that was just released a year ago? Nope.

Seems like iOS 9 was made for the newest iPhones/iPads which is disappointing because in the past, it took about 2 cycles before devices would seen noticeable slowness.
That's weird I was telling my buddy it seems a little zippier maybe it is just me. iPhone 6 plus here.

Yup! I got the same effect on my 5s. Everything is slow. Even Crossy Road a relatively small game start stuttering and freaking out. Man oh man. Why push a release of something that's a liability. Downgrade to 8.4.1 while you still can. This is sad!

I also don't like having a news feed and everything else forced on that page. Is there even a way to edit this page? It just kind of feels like that Google Now or whatever assistant where it recommends stuff to you.... Ugh, just feels like a cluttered mess....

You can go to Settings>General> Spotlight Search, and turn off "Siri Suggestions." This will make the page completely blank, other than the search bar (and also remove the App Suggestions from the "pull-down" Search page).

I haven't had one Safari crash on my 6+ that's running iOS 9. Not one. On 8.4.1, it was a given that I would have several crashes a day.

It may not be as smooth in certain areas right now, but it's more solid to me than the 8.4.1 release.

Still, it never downloaded automatically for me in past iterations. I was on my mobile wifi while out of the house when it started. Could barely do a thing on my phone as it downloaded over 4 hours. Only way it would pause was by turning off my wifi. Restarting the phone didn't do a thing
Yeah it has. Until iOS8 I believe, you had the software on your device and could not delete it. Folks were mad that they had their space wasted for an update they didn't want to apply. Then Apple added the feature to allow you to delete the download from the manage storage screen. Been that way for a while now.

Yeah, I believe since 7.1 if I recall correctly.
