It appears Joe Clark has a chip on his shoulder. :D

Relax Joe. My iPad Air 2 is buttery smooth as well. I'm enjoying it immensely. :)

Hahah I dont, I really don't. I just don't appreciate strangers telling me what a step in the right direction is - as if they know who I am.

Please don't mistake my zeal for anger or anything like that. Sure I'm annoyed, because I actually never truly understood the extent to which fanboys protect Apple until I encountered this thread, but tbh I am starting not to care. I just hope Apple turns it around.

Adiosssssss

For those with 5S', how are the phones handling 9.1 update in terms of performance (smoothness, animation) and battery?

Definitely seems better now with 9.1. Maybe 9.2 will completely fix things.

I'm still a bit torn wether to return the iPad Air 2 for a Pixel C before the 14 day window expires but the update definitely has helped Apple's case (being a step in the right direction, despite the bugs that do persist) and is making that decision harder...

Return it. Just sold my Air minutes ago. I can't believe he still take the air despite his mini perform better (animation wise).

Don't tell me what 'a step in the right direction' is. You don't know me.
I know what you say. Does anything else really matter in an online forum? The things we say are a reflection of who we are. If we say things differently than who we are that is being disingenuous.

And yeah, I did say that. The only time I challenge people is when they say 'THE LAG DOESNT EXIST' because they're wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. Like really, really wrong. Do you get the memo?
It would be helpful if you provided some objective evidence to support your opinion. Telling someone they are "wrong" isn't evidence. Saying it multiple times doesn't magically strengthen your opinion.

So what evidence do you have that lag exists in the iPad Air 2 running iOS 9.1?

Haha! I'm a fanboy now! Love it. :D

Plenty of strangers here you're interacting with. You might want to pick a few of your friends at home, who totally agree with your point of view and have a 'lag is real no matter what anyone else says' pity party. ;)

I just read your reply somewhere that you have an air and you say it is smooth. Do you turn on reduce transparency / reduce motion?

Because in my opinion, it's super slow!

I have an Air 2 and it's very smooth. Everything is default on the Air 2. Running beautifully.

The 6+ is set to default, but as I've said it needs smoothing out. Nothing that cripples 9.1 in anyway and even it's current state on my 6+ it's a better OS, when compared to 8.4.1.

Ah, Air 2. Too bad I can't afford them here. Base model 16GB wifi only is USD 535.

Admitting that you exaggerate is a step in the right direction. Equating"ran decently" to "ran decently considering" is the type of thing you've been challenging others on... and you're doing the same thing.

And none of this negates the fact that my Air 2 experienced a slight lag with iOS 9.0.2 but none on 9.1.
On the contrary I downgraded my Air 2 to 9.0.2 as it was lag city on 9.1.Heres an example of my app switcher lag on 9.1 and believe me in real life it's an eye sore

But I am disappointed in my Air 2 performance.I am no longer in love with it as I was on 8.4.1.It was a silky smooth beast there

Sorry to hear (and see) that you are experiencing lag on the Air 2 running 9.1. I don't have that lag. (which is ironic, because as I mentioned previously, lag-free operation often eludes me)

Can you take a 60fs video of your app switcher? Switch to a few different apps too. Thanks. Maybe you got a prototype iPad Air with a better GPU in it.

He has an Air 2. Mine is smooth as well.

I've read where the Air has some issues.

So that people who believe everyone has issues would just nitpick anything in the video, whether or not there are actually any issues, and just say the issues are there and people are just not seeing them? Videos won't prove anything one way or another given that people can claim anything they want and simply say the other side simply doesn't see it or sees something that isn't there.

I was going to honor your request until I read the part in bold. That makes it clear to me that no matter what one posts that is contrary to what you believe you will dismiss it.

Feel free to believe that I have a magical Air 2.

Agree, that sarcasm shouldn't be there.

But could you please upload your device video so we could believe that not every device perform identically (of course, within standard deviation threshold)? I'm getting sick of this debate between both parties, and your video can help us stop this pointless argument.

So far, those who says it doesn't lag, actually can't differentiate between 30 and 60 FPS.

You saw Radon's video and can see the stutter, so I believe you can "see" it.

BTW, we're still waiting for 60 fps videos of your magical non-lag 9.x devices showing no stuttering.

But what if he does upload it and he can't see this stutter, but Radeon's and your eagle eyes can? What will it solve? Nothing really. It will continue this same circle jerk of lag vs no lag debate. Ultimately he's pleased the way his device is functioning and in the end, that is all that really matters to each individual user.

iPad 3 on iOS 9.0.2 is very laggy. If someone uses iOS 6, I don't recommend to upgrade.
