Food for thought.. could that mirror universe/Kelvin timeline be the same universe/dimension that had Smiley, Kira running DS9 and all of the shenanigans that went on there?

BL.

In the mirror universe, the Federation didn't exist. In the Kelvin timeline, it did. so I would think the Kelvin, mirror and regular universe were all different.

Now to something completely different:

It is quite clear that the Picard finale set up a 7_of_9/Rafi/Jack Crusher spin off while there isn't even the slightest rumor pointing to it (that I could find).

A Worf/Rafi team-up would be good too (aka, "Worfi") :)

Micheal Dorn is to old for it to make sense (unless the want another Picard style nostalgia show).

Quite obvious how they separated the Boomers  from the younger folk which got just enough character development to give a spin off some initial momentum while not so much that they couldn't skip one if negotiations fall trough.

Add Jeri Ryan (which would be a plausible Captain for another 10+ years) as the star and it is all set.

If they do such a show they could always pull in TNG/DS9/VOY characters as guest stars or ignore them all as the see fit.

Yep, Jeri Ryan should have her own series. Too bad, Seven and Shaw as frenemies wold have been good.

I liked the finale, but I didn't love the finale. I thought the emotions were there and well placed, but I think the writing for the overall season could have been better, and there was an opportunity to bring back Allison Pill as the Borg Cooperative Queen. I feel like the writers did what they could to erase Season 2, and while I didn't like Season 2 either, it still happened.

I loved the finale. We're talking about it at https://www.tivocommunity.com/threads/star-trek-picard-s03e10-the-last-generation-spoilers.591317/.

I finished watching
. It was the Q&A after the IMAX showing which I guess was live for LA folks and streamed/recording for others at the IMAX showings? I hope it doesn't get taken down.

Someone at my work went to the SF IMAX showing and she said that popcorn and drinks were included. Someone in a Trek FB group posted a vertical video (probably taken by them) showing the cast entering the theater passing thru metal detectors.

No way they aren't setting up a new series with Seven/Rafi/Jack. Especially after that
Q
cliffhanger at the very end.

They could have brought back Wesley full time.
They could have done a JarJar Bings crossover.

But nah, they had to find that one option worse.....

Good moments from the finale:

Beverly's bad-azzz phaser shooting takes out all the Borg Cube weapons. (everyone looks at her) "A lot has happened in the last 20 years."

Worf: "Swords are fun."

and "There was a moment where I was actually concerned we would survive."

Seven, after using modified phasers to beam off the Borg-ified bridge crew): "Did it work or did we just kill them all?"

Not Star Trek, but interesting: A Babylon 5 animated movie, from J Michael Straczynski, is finished and in the can, to be released by Warner soon. And he uses a MacBook Air :)

I'd love to watch a remastered Babylon 5 with updated CG. The 80's level CG is jarringly bad by today's standards. It takes me competely out of the story ever time the cut to CG. The difference between the CG on DS9 and B5 is huge despite begin from the same period.😕

An animated B5 movie sounds awesome, especially if they can get the original actors to voice the characters.

Oddly enough I've been watching some Babylon 5 clips and thinking I ought to buy the series. I think and I could be wrong, but I think they remastered the series so it looks better in 4k

Thought about this, just as I'm now getting into season 3 of ST: Picard.

In all of the flashbacks to Picard's childhood, his brother was missing. If you recall, S3:E2 of ST: TNG, Reunion had Worf's parents visiting the Enterprise, but Picard also going home to that same vineyard that he is at now, encountering his nephew, as well as his older brother and wife. While they were reported to have been killed in a fire at the vineyard (ST: Generations), his brother should have been alive during all of those flashbacks to his youth.

Show writer's error, or am I missing something here?

BL.

Good point about the brother. I'd forgotten about that.

However, during some of the Ready Room eps, Wil has suggested some of those flashbacks are whatever could be a case of unreliable narrator. I don't recall that was in reference to a missing brother though... It was more general.

As Terry Matalas pointed out, he had limited time and budget to being back characters. He couldn't bring back everyone (Agnes, Elnor, Wesley) nor address every loose thread (romances bertween Picard/Tallinn, Seven/Raffi). As it is, there was just enough to do for the main cast, due to all the original characters back, plus Seven, Raffi and Shaw, Jack and Alandra. That's a lot of characters to juggle.

Maybe, but not addressing Picard/Tallinn was a big gaping plot hole. I mean, it's not like they couldn't use a throw away line "nice to see everyone, now I gotta get back to Tallinn and the vineyard." That miss earned a first ever "Trilithium Down" from Trek Culture.
