Me: "No its OSX Expose"
Them: "Oh Ok" (Insert picture of dumb face here unknowing as to what they are looking at)

Vodafone Store

Was talking about the iPhone

Me: "I use Mac"
Him: "Poor You - I use PC"
Me: (quite outraged because there was no need for his reply) - "My mac runs windows vista as well"
Him: "Aww really ok"

Bad answer really because basically you are saying that it's ok to run mac because you can run windows...

I would have just agreed with the poor soul... yes yes... poor me!

If that was shop staff

At that point, if it was me, the conversation would have gone:

Me: "Don't you dare conderscend me. Where's your manager?"

Good answer lol!! Because the way he said it was in a way that he runs windows and thought that I can't. It shut the idiot up anyway. He also ripped on the iPhone saying it was a pile of junk. The guy has got issues!!!

The Best Buy near me just got some Macs, including the beautiful 24" aluminum iMac. I might have to go apply there so they at least have SOMEONE who actually knows what they're talking about when it comes to all things Apple. :D

Unbelievable! That salesman should be fired. This is why the Apple Stores consistently set per-square-foot sales records in every mall they open in. Methinks Best Buy needs to do a much better job in training their employees, not just about Macintosh computers, but in basic customer service theory.

"omg its a mac, your gay"

"omg u use a mac get out" (teacher even laughs)

bastards

It's unreal, isn't it? You could always point them to news articles such as this one, but such an excercise is usually futile, and they'll probably just one of the classic retorts such as "Well, that doesn't prove anything!".

Well, maybe not. But it does suggest that the guy who oversaw development of Windows for so long is probably using a Mac right now, as he has retired from Microsoft.

its pathetic. people have no respect at all for different things. they wont accept that there is something outside of the normal, and will never change their views becuase they think they are simply the best. which is clearly not true.

It seems like everywhere I go people dont like Macs. All the other kids at school are totally ignorant of them to. They dislike them cause there slow (iBooks from '99 are all they have used) what do they expect when they compare it to a new computer. I bring out the MBP and tell the another kid to bring his laptop out. He pulls out a 3in think dell clunker. He still insists that his is faster. I tell him to compile a program of some sort on his computer. Mine does it in 10 seconds, his is still going while I'm packing up and smirking. He just glares. And you should really see his face when I boot up into Windows while running OS X. That, my friends, is priceless. :)

I pretty much go through that on a daily bases. Most of the time they don't have a compiler either....go figure.

Haha, I love Macs. Have switched at least one person and that was before I had even mine.

Not so much a question, but a statement

My friend said Macs are for fun(PhotoBooth, FrontRow, etc) and PC are for work.....the price of Apple ads, I guess!

seeing as tho macs are pretty much pc's (based on hardware, the only difference now is the OS and that makes ALL the difference) i dont think that that statement is still true...

Today I was in a store one of two apple resalers in town, this lady was asking about a HP desktop, she was asking all the usual questions to the "TECH GUY" I use that term loosely. She was asking about a HP she saw advertised, it had 3g of ram, a 500 gb hard drive, a 20 inch monitor, she was complaining about viruses, was telling him the things her family uses their current PC for, also that a printer she really liked didn't work with there current pc, she liked doing photo editing and that she needed to use three different programs for her photos, bla bla bla, this tech guy didn't want to sell her anything, he wanted her to go home and think about it. So me being me I joined in on the conversation, and suggested a mac. OMG you should of seen the look on his face. He than told her that apples "suck" and the only people that buy them are people that first bought macs when they first came out and that she would need to learn a whole new OS and that she would hate it if she bought it. I felt like he was insulting my intelligence. Than I said that I was a switcher and I really liked my mac.

Than it hit me as i was leaving the store, all the (two MB)s macs were turned off and the nice display they had in front when you first came in and turned to the left is gone. I think I'm going to apply for a jub at this store ;).
