Whether I go through Apple or T mobile.com it says I get a one time bill credit + 24 monthly bill credits

Going through Apple it’s not a bill credit, they just deduct the trade in value from the price of the phone.

Here is the breakdown from my order today through Apple:

If you order directly through T-Mobile, the EIP will be for the full retail price and you’ll get a one time bill credit for the base trade in value then monthly bill credits for the promo value.

Going through Apple, they instantly credit you so the EIP amount that is financed is lower.

T-Mobile also charges sales tax on the full retail value of the phone whereas Apple only charges sales tax on the amount of the phone after the trade in is deducted. This is probably because of the difference in the way they each handle trade ins.

So they both give you 24 month bill credits though right?

edit- Apple looks better based on what you said. I went through Apple

Yes, you’ll get 24 month bill credits either way but IMO the way it works out going through Apple is better. Going through Apple you even get the option to put more down to make the EIP amount less if you want to lower the monthly payment more or you can even make the monthly payment zero after the bill credit if you want to.

I think that varies by state. I'm in California and both Apple and T-Mobile were charging me $96 tax on the full MSRP for a 14 Pro Max

I went Into a t-mobile store to try and cancel my order i placed this morning and the lady told me she can’t cancel the order because I ordered it over the phone.
I just called t-mobile to try and cancel my order over the phone and got the run around from the women said I had to wait 24hrs after placing the order to cancel the order anyone know if this is true or am I being given the run around.

I ended up ordering my iPhone 14 pro max 256GB with BestBuy a hour ago and they gave me a instant trade in for $600.00 so only cost me $649.00 out right no monthly payments for phone. and because I have bestbuy total tech I get free apple care+. And they still had instore pick up for 9/16.

Was told I have 14 days buyers remorse to return the phone and cancel. Only thing the Rep said was if I sent my phone in for trade in I would not get my phone back and would only get the credit. The women at my local store told me the same thing

I ordered mine through the website yesterday and I was able to cancel it this morning through T-Force (@TMobileHelp) on Twitter. No problem whatsoever. I had a signed EIP and trade-in.

Went to preorder right at 7AM my time. Experienced the T-Mobile issues like everyone else. Tried a couple of times. Got my reservation notice…went back to order when my time came. Apple system said that reservation can’t be found. Called apple and the reps I spoke to had no knowledge of any reservation system, much less a way to fix mine.

Chatted with t-force last night and was told this:

“... I'm showing that both of those devices are showing a running status, but the order number is showing like it was ordered through Apple is that correct?”

“ I am showing two orders on this side, both through Apple I'm not showing an order for the iPhone 14 from T-Mobile, if we do this follow-up and they both look good to go, we can always cancel one of the orders..."

“but they are both showing as running, so that could go through here! We won't know for about 24 hours, if that is still showing running after 24 hours then that order did not go through and we will need to cancel those orders and replace those orders, I'm not showing anything on this side in your installment plan, So right now those orders are limbo.”

So to recap, T-Mobile is showing two orders in their system, from apple, but I never received a confirmation email from either and the order pages are blank. Apple shows no orders on their side.

Can anyone help or at least explain what’s going on?

They offered to cancel and reorder, but then the ship date goes from release date to early November. Trying to salvage this the best I can.

Cancelled mine order because it wasn’t going to ship till 9/29 and they was only giving me $405 trade in on my iPhone 12 pro max.

Ordered yesterday evening thru T-Mobile.

I tried in the morning thru apple and it put me on the list. Go the email later in the day. Tried to do it thru apple but I was only getting 500 for my XS trade in.

Decided to use the upgrade page on the T-Mobile website. Ordered at 14 Pro Max 256 Space black. Getting 800 for the XS trade in. Just got charged for it now with it showing 9/16 delivery.

I think the apple issue was that I have Magenta Max Military and the apple website doesn’t like that.

Still 400 for the 14 Pro max is pretty good. I have two lines with one being used as a fax so I jump between upgrades on them.

After some considerations, decided to cancel my order with T-Mobile. It was super easy to process the cancellation over the phone. It took less than 5 mins. Now I'm hunting a iPhone 14 Pro Max Gold 256GB at Apple with pickup for Sep 16th or 17th. If I don't find anything before the 16th, then I will check on the 16th at 8 am for the stores inventory and will place my order online for pickup. Most stores carry lot of iPhones in launch day so lets see if I get lucky ;)

Why I cancelled my order with T-Mobile? Even that both, Apple and T-Mobile offer the same $1000 promo with Magenta Max account, Apple trade in deal is more appealing as the whole credit gets split in 24 months so at the end the monthly quote is much less than T-Mobile. Also, with Apple the iPhone will be unlocked which is not the case with T-Mobile.
