I wanted a plus size X last year so settled on the X assuming a plus was coming. Was going to purchase from Apple, but my config ship date slipped so purchased from TMobile. Turned out well since I am getting $25 more trade in for my X. Not 100% confident that the 9/21 ship date is going to hold since it's still showing as available this morning.

One note - I did see a lower down payment for the Xs Max 256GB of $249 and $41 per month, (0 down for base Xs config) but at checkout it reverted back to $525 and $30. I went ahead with that since my trade in covers my down payment via statement credit. Probably a glitch and I didn't want to wait for a call. I am 2.5 year TMobile customer with a 830ish credit score.

I would have liked to hold the Max in hand just to be sure it's not too big, but will just try it out within the return window. If all is good, I don't see myself upgrading for another couple years since it has all of my check marks.

It's been another fun pre-order and appreciate all the folks sharing great info and support!

Seems like the Max is the same frame size as a 7/8 plus. Just the screen is edge to edge now.
[doublepost=1536944068][/doublepost]Dang, I wish I would have done the JoD thing. I paid 379.99 down, plus taxes, it was just shy of 500 bucks. 109 would have been awesome. Oh well.

This year, I tried to go through T-Mobile's app which went live like 10 mins early, and I was able to get in an order there. However, I tried this year to also go through the Apple App Store and I got approved through Citizens for they're 1UP program. Only problem is it's with a later ship date. No big deal there though. Maybe I'm not well-qualified through T-Mobile but they wanted $529.00 down plus tax for a total of $640.68 which is quite a bit. Apple though was $179.79 with just taxes and first payment. I'm not sure but I get AppleCare to through Apple. But, on one hand everything is financed through T-Mobile with a higher down payment, with just $30 a month as opposed to $60. I'm just trying to figure out what is my best option. I got a later ship date through Apple but only by a week. Just trying to get some thoughts on this. What would YOU do if you were in my shoes? Stick with Apple financing or T-Mobile financing?

Got my preorder in this morning. guaranteed to be delivered on 9/21. $109.00 down for 36.00 a month lease on JOD.

Ordered the iPhone Xs 64GB Space grey.
[doublepost=1536944676][/doublepost]Per the T-Mobile website
https://www.t-mobile.com/resources/shipping-dates

Estimated shipping dates
The estimated shipping dates for phones and devices are now available on the individual product web pages, next to the images. If no dates are listed, the estimated shipping date will be within our normal processing and shipment times.

I got customer care to refund the $15 express shipping which is great. But it seems like it will be sent on the 21st 2 day which should be Monday or Tuesday. I guess I'll survive

So I have 2 lines one jump and the other jump on demand. Does the whole upgrade to a cheaper phone only work for JOD or also jump? After almost 5 years and countless problems with tmobile and now these upgrade deals being how they are. I’m thinking of going to another carrier.

i decided im going to go for the max. i cant wait for the price to go down on the X but i need a phone for next monday since im going out the country. i can just buy an x use it then return it and trade it for the max right?

Super confused. I just switched to T-MOBILE this year and this is my first pre order through them. Just got a new text that said my order would be shipping on 9/21. With AT&T I’ve always gotten it on launch day. Can anyone provide any insight?
We always say the shipment day is the day of release. It's a legal thing.

But, there have many many times that if you pre-order, you get your device a day or 2 early. Not saying you will, but this has been something that has happened regularly in the past.

I started to preorder on the apple app at 3am EST, but was having problems so i turned on my pc and tried on the tmobile site... easy preordering! Plus, tmobile gave me $550 for my X tradein as opposed to apple who was only giving me $525. Will be getting my gold 256g XS and my hubby’s silver 256g XS Max on friday!

T-Mobile rep thru FB chat said my order would be processed on the 17th and those who took part in the pre order event would most likely have their devices by the 21st. I’ll take it with a grain of salt but that would be cool! Ordered the XS 256GB Silver.

T Mobile automatically upgrades all pre orders to free overnight shipping. If it shows it ships the 21st, you'll get it on the 21st.

So I don't need to call to change my Ground shipping to Overnight?

Is my down payment unusually high? My monthly payments are $21.90.
Do people with lower down payments just pay a higher monthly payment?

I agree with you. The last 3 pre-orders i have done i always got shipment notifications 2-3 days before the date of release. I always got it on day of delivery.

for most of us it seems will be getting our phones on 9/21 for those who ordered black 64GB Iphone Xs NOT MAX.

According to the rep I talked to, its a ship date of 9/21, not delivery date.
I was told the same thing. I'm still confused and hearing conflicting information.

I paid for the express shipping (1-2 days), was told by the rep that by doing so it would arrive on the 21st or 22nd (seems like 0-1 day but ok), but if I'd selected a slower ship method I'd not get it on the 21st. I'm not sure when I'll get it or whether I'm overpaying for the shipping.

For folks who are saying this is inaccurate do you have any supporting information or clarification you can offer?

Finally got it this morning....x max 64 gb...last night through website they wanted 379$ down...in the morning i checked again and it showed 99$ down via jump...called them right away and got the gold one...:)

My experience this year was worse than ever before, but I was still back in bed 30 minutes after launch time with orders signed.

Before my order
I did a web chat, phone call, in-store and Twitter conversation and all 4 told me different pricing yesterday. It was absolutely brutal and horribly disorganized. I actually got a return phone call to apologize for my chat agent and they promised me they were giving me the correct pricing. Turns out they were correct.

Order time
Made two calls and was told that the place was closed, call back at 6am (it was 3am). I then went on the app and scheduled a callback at 3:10am and got the call. The person I spoke to told me that JoD users had to pay off the device before ordering a new one. I told her that she was mistaken and perhaps confused with the current $300 promo for trade in. She argued and said that she's positive that JoD users have to be paid off to be able to upgrade, that it is new and just for pre-order. It would go back to normal when the phone launches. I started to argue the logistics of this, being that if she's right I could wait a week and save several hundred dollars, but I just decided to hang up.

I called back and got a second rep who was totally awesome, said she's been there for years and helped me place my two orders. I got the documents to sign in my email while I was still on the phone with her, whereas this has taken hours in previous years. All good, I go to bed.

This Morning
I wake up to find out that the "awesome" rep signed me up for AutoPay without my permission and I had to cancel.

Overall it worked out and my wife and I will be getting shiny new phones next Friday, but it was still pretty messy and disorganized.

I'm JOD and I was told by two different reps that I would have to put down $411 to get the Max. Or I could payoff my lease, $208, then I can switch to the $100 down payment on the Max. I would have also had to pay for express shipping. No thank you. I'll keep my X for now.

I should note that I ordered a Space Grey and a Gold iPhone XS 64GB, paid $99 down each and monthly is $26. That's on JoD. It's way cheaper than my iPhone X JoD was. I was told that I am "super well-qualified". I got free shipping. The one annoying thing is that I was told that my $12 applecare add-on is no longer available and I have to go to a $15 plan.

I think you flat out got misinformation. Depending on your credit class you'd get a price starting at $109 for the Max on JoD. $411 isn't even a number that makes sense to me. Someone tried to convince me that I had to pay off my device. I politely stated that she's just wrong, and I disconnected.

I pre-ordered the same phone as you and have the same ship date range. My down payment was less ($588) but I have been a TMO customer for a long time and have a pretty good credit score. I could see those impacting down payments.

My rep said the most they would finance is $1000 -- which works out to $41.67 for 24 months -- well 8 cents over :)

I had the same issue. The first rep called me, since I had a call back scheduled for MN, and sounded very excited but very slow. I think it took 3-4 minutes for her to ask my the first of four phone numbers that needed to be upgraded. And every 20-30sec, I got a "it'll be just a moment"...not sure what she was doing. Then she tried 3 of the four numbers one by one, all with some sort of random error...she then said the manager she emailed to get help said I would just have to go to the store. I got irritated since now I figured I missed the launch day deliveries. She then follows with, well lets just try your fourth number, I'm thinking wheat's going to change this 4th time...this was around 12:20A. I said thank you, I'll call back and hung up. Called back, the guy on the phone this time, took care of all four phones in a bulk order within 5-7 mins, confirmed address, CC, and all good to go. Also ordered me an Apple Watch in the the next 3-4 mins using the same info he saved. What a difference!

I can only imagine that maybe some of us that called right around 12, the system may not have been ready who knows. Anyhow, all phones say shipped by 09/21, but hopefully means 9/21 deliveries.
yeah i'm hoping for that too on delivery it was weird because my line i couldn't also upgrade myself but some how it end up going through after a couple refreshes to the website honestly though i felt my first rep was kinda lazy like she didn't want to do it or something idk maybe it was just her computer though. congrats on the purchases!

That $411 was the total. $379 + shipping and Tax. I don't know what "Well Qualified" means. I read somewhere you have to have a credit score of over 850. That can't be it because mine is 858. Checked it the other day. I've never missed a payment or been late. I also read that you have to have 3+ years with T-Mobile. I'm a month away from 3 years. Perhaps that's it? Don't know but....whatever.

Even if you are super well-qualified with the 3 years tenure, I think some people are forgetting there is a credit limit on accounts and you may be paying a higher down payment because you hit that limit with the phone you are wanting.

Since you can sell the X for $500+, seems like a no-brainer to me.

I've been with T-Mo for 5+ years. I've definitely had payments that were a week or more late. My credit score is definitely not over 800. Still got what I think is a fair price.

So I'm currently ordering the Xs Max via Messages app. They quoted me on "free 5 - 7 day shipping". I've always had my phones on launch day, what's the change? Is anyone else getting this?

As I'm writing this I was told they would give me free 2 day shipping. I'm very confused. I thought if you pre-ordered the phone, you get it on launch day.

Same happened to me. I even sent a screenshot from T-Mobile’s site, the iPhone preorder FAQ. I was told that the policy was changed this year for JOD preorders. Had to complain to get a “one time courtesy.”

JOD customers continue to get the short end of the stick. Sucks.

Got free overnight shipping when I pre-ordered last night and that's on JOD, didn't even have to ask for it. I think a lot fo their employees need re-trained because it seems to be different from one to another one.
