I work the swing shift at my job.... so I had to be at work at 2:30. Wife is at home (works from home during COVID). Tracking still shows out for delivery. I guess I get to play with my new phone after I get off work at 11pm. ugh

It took me 40 minutes to set up.

had a bad experience. T-Mobile had to reset the new sim. Then had to call apple

issue was the confirming my phone number. The setup would crash there.

phone looks and feels the same as the 11. I can’t tell the difference in screen quality. Also no 5g really around my number so not a huge difference

going to Boston and NYC this weekend so will see how fast 5g is

So Calif
Pacific blue 512gb ordered at 7:59am est launch day from the T-Mobile site pushed back to 11/12 after showing 10/23 delivery up until yesterday night. Called tmo and was told there’s and inventory issue with the 512gb model and that lots of people were calling in. What a mess.
My 128GB Blue 12 Pro is still showing Nov 3-6....
So disgusted with Apple after busting my rear waking up at 5am last Friday...

The only good thing about ordering from Apple is the way you can easily track your iPhone all the way from China.... but Apple pre-order dates always seem to slip the fastest.... while I have never had issue getting a phone at launch via T-Mobile. The only exception was the iPhone 7.... Jet Black... that took more than a month to get... but that was because iPhone 7 was a really constrained launch.... and the polishing process they had to do for the Jet Black.

Well, I just got my new iPhone 12 (256 GB Blue). It'll be 2-3 days before I completely switch over from my old iPhone X (256 GB Space Gray).

By the way, the retail box is TINY compared to the iPhone X retail box.

Got mine around 10am this morning. The new sim was in the new phone already but because of the long wait using 611 and the T-Mobile website not letting me change the sim on the site, I just used my old sim to activate the phone and set it up. Using the old sim I was getting 5G but speeds were only between 14-20mbps. Then went to the T-Mobile store to turn in my old device on JOD and brought the new sim for them to activate for me, put the new sim in the phone and I was getting between 300-500 mbps on 5G. And even a at home now I'm getting between 50-100 mbps (old brick apartment building) versus what I was getting on the old sim.
So a PSA for everyone, just activate and use the new sim. The old sim's do not get the 5G speeds they are suppose to get. My old sim was 6 years old from when I signed up still...

Same just happened to me. I was using my 12 with the new sim installed, but cellular wasn’t working. I was on WiFi and texting away. I tried making a call and nothing. Then I realized I needed to activate the new sim. Called 611, 30 minutes later it’s active now and on 5G.

Absolutely loving my new phone! Luckily, I had no problems activating the new sim and everything is working fine. Was worried about moving from a Plus to the regular Pro, but I think this might be the sweet spot.

Finally playing with it! Loving it so far, coming from an X. Didn’t expect the camera difference to be so drastic, but wow. The SIM swap over went smoothly for me. Pretty decent speed tests at my house, maybe 10-20% better than LTE. But we’re not in a huge city and don’t have midband yet, as far as I know. Hoping to try that out soon.

To that end - has anyone figured out how to tell what 5G band you’re using? I checked field test, and it has a nice new interface but still only showed LTE info. I see that Verizon gets the “UW” on mmWave and ATT gets a “+” for mmWave, but no specific mention what, if anything, TMO phones do.

Yes, it will be the new one. It will have an R15 on it. Just have to log in to your account and hit “Change SIM” on the correct line in the settings and put in the new SIM number. Swapped right over for me, though it seems to not be going as smoothly for me.

Why change the sim. I would have the sim in my new iPhone already.
