I think this year a lot of people went straight to Apple to order because of the fiasco with last year’s launch. Unfortunately this year Apple is pushing a lot of the IUP preorders up to the front of the queue, and those who ordered within the first 30 minutes have dates after 11/3. My Apple orders have dates of 11/17-11/24 and I ordered 6 minutes after T-Mobile.
That’s a fair theory. I didn’t order last year (but entirely true. We ordered a phone for my wife but it was standard
Black with base storage, so nothing fancy), but the 6s orders were a nightmare.
I won’t thoenthe entire story out here because it’s too dang long (for the reader and me lol) but I got the wrong phones ordered twice, trade ins wiped accidentally (and then lost at warehouse), credits not applied properly, but finally got a besrltnfree 6s plus out of it over three months of calling to find a resolution.
We reserved a phone for in store pickup at Apple as well as T-Mobile (since I was nervous how T-Mobile might work out) but was considering canceling that now that T-Mobile has shipping details in. My wife is still deciding if she wants an X; she just got an 8 that she loves though and thinks she might just wait to see what she thinks of my phone. I think Apple charges Cards day if so I either need to decide the day before, or go pick it up, leave it sealed, and have her decide what she wants within the return window.

False
Device Protection may only be added during a “qualifying event”. Typically, this is within 14 days of the purchase (order date) of a T-Mobile USA branded device from an authorized T-Mobile channel (T-Mobile retail stores nationwide, authorized postpaid dealers, Costco, Customer Care, for existing customers, T-Mobile.com, and Telesales, 1-800-T-Mobile). Additionally, there are occasional “open enrollment” periods. Qualifying events apply to new customers and existing customers who are upgrading their device.

I may be misunderstanding this but I think the original question was asking to switch jump and jump on demand terms, not add insurance?
