My EEPROM programmer can't be recognised by Flashrom for some reason. Has anyone run into this issue?

Calibrating delay loop... OK.
libusb: info [darwin_claim_interface] no interface found; setting configuration: 1
No EEPROM/flash device found.
Note: flashrom can never write if the flash chip isn't found automatically.

did you reconfigure it correctly to 3.3V?

and yes, the pomona clip must fit exactly and pin right,
otherwise the SPI will also be damaged

Has anyone tried connecting a drobo 8D or any thunderbolt 3 drobo to a 5,1 using this add-in card?

Thanks Indiox! I really dig the boot icons, really cool! (I had a list of entries before), but unfortunately I still see "Thunderbolt: No drivers are loaded." in System Info (attached).

Any other ideas?

Thanks again...

I too have the exact same problem.... Unbelievable...

I tried different entries in the config.plist but nothing does~!

Does sleep get broken for anyone else?
This is with or without anything connected, once the firmware was modded (rev1 and rev2 tested) sleep was no longer functional, the display goes off but the mac never sleeps, instead it just revs the fans and tries to sleep then revs louder then tries to sleep .. forever.
(I'm using on xserve3,1 which is essentially a cMP4,1 ... but I'd like to know if its a "just me" and perhaps an xserve quirk or an everyone thing)

Note, I couldn't get the SSDT to load via OpenCore for the slot I'm using (slot 2 I believe), so instead I had to go with modify the DSDT instead to inject the needed data for the slot I'm using. This didn't fix sleep either.

Hello everyone, Im having issues with the Titan Ridge Flashed and a Sonnet 3.2 Allegro Pro pcie card. Two cards don't show correctly, with SSDT-Tbolt3.ami enabled. On my Mac Pro 4.1 flashed to 5.1 with bootrom 144.0.0.0.0

The Titan Ridge is in the 4th slot
Pins 1 & 3 jumped
Opencore is setup correctly with SSDT-TBOLT3.aml enabled
Every thing works fine without the Sonnet card, shows up as thunderbolt device Vender Apple Inc. But with the sonnet card in slot 3 it disables the Titan Ridge. If I place the Titan Ridge in slot 3 it disables the sonnet card this only happens when the SSDT-TBOLT3.aml enabled in opencore.

Thank you!
That's interesting! My sonnet allegro USB 3.0 pcie card shows up absolutely prefect for the 4 SSD drives I'm using with them.

@Mikis @DCswitch no! Alpine Ridge is a totally different chip and no one should try to flash the Titan Ridge firmware to an alpine ridge card... You would brick it!

@safari70 if you use the new firmware you have to create an unique uuid for your DROM.

It will not work with the old ssdt without it.

If you remove the ssdt it should work after warm boot.

Hello I do not see where exactly we have to put the UUID in that SSDT.

It is not seen as "Titan Ridge USB 3.1 Controller" &
"Intel JHL7540 Titan Ridge USB 3.1"
but as Thunderbolt controller & "USB eXtensible Host-Controller"

I do not know also why we are not getting the 40Gb/s but instead we are getting the 20Gb/s
I am on your latest firmware though.

Where should I put that UUID in (Line?)

Thank you for your help.

I had similar issue at the beginning and found the SSDT was not injected properly in config.plist. I now use OpenCore Configurator to add:

For UUID info you can read up to learn more (well over my head!):

I'm using OpenCore 0.5.7 with Original DSM2 SSDT-TBOLT3.aml (original UUID config), TR flashed with 2nd release Custom Firmware.

This is all new to me, hope this helps...

I had the same issue with power clicking on/off, fans rev, etc when the SSDT was not loaded properly (without SSDT, I think?). Now that SSDT loads properly, not having those issues except now I don't think it goes to sleep mode at all...

Hey guys just following ameyrupji post when connecting the blue chip to flash the firmware I get 'failed: no such file or directory find'. where does the TitanRidgeNVM23-E64Fr.zip need to reside? I've tried it moving to the bin folder but still nothing, sorry I realised this is probs a neewbie question but I've never had to do anything that requires more then basic troubleshooting

Thanks @DSM2.Hackintosh for the additional info - i‘m ok with flashing the firmware and editing basic OC configs but UUIDs/DROMs are beyond my comfort zone ;) I don’t even know where to start... i guess I’ll just wait for further progress and try again at a later time...

So basically you're saying that sleep is broken as well.

Just wanted to say thanks to all the contributors and post my case here for future reference.

With DSM2 latest firmware and ameyrupji's guide I have a macpro 2009 running with apollo twin. I've tested thunderbolt 2 and 3 and although didn't get thunderbolt 3 coming through (pretty sure cause the cable I've used it's not an official apple one) I could get USB-c out of the Titan ridge into a thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2 adaptor, thunderbolt 2 cable into an apollo twin mk ii. No need to open core, just a couple of reboots.

Created an account just to contribute - this has been awesome. Thank you to all the folks here making the dream real.

Hate be to beat a dead horse but is apollo x working with titan ridge ? Or just mk2

Yes. I just got an x8 and can confirm it's working with the opencore setup DSM posted and DSM's latest firmware. I largely followed this guide: https://github.com/ameyrupji/thunderbolt-macpro-5-1/blob/master/GC-TitanRidge.md

A caveat: You do need to boot with the x8 on, and then restart with it on to be recognized.

For me, yes

I too have a sleep problem. It seems like it wants to sleep, monitors go off and everything. I do have wake for wifi off and all that jazz. Then every 20 seconds or so the Mac comes back to life and the optical drive clatters like I'm starting it up, but the monitors do not come back on.

Would be awesome to just put it to sleep and not need to deal with the double boot, but to be able to access HiZ Unison, hexacore, and the different processing configurations of UAD Thunderbolt it's worth it.

Anyone want to buy a pristine Apollo Quad Firewire? :)

I'm running a mid-2012, 2 x 3.46 GHz 6 core, 128GB RAM, macOS 10.14.6

OK, more info. Got a little excited before & posting the below in case it helps.

Seems as if the order of operations (for me anyway) is:
- Boot with Apollo off
- Turn Apollo on
- Open system profiler and go to thunderbolt section (this seems to be important, does not work for me otherwise)
- See that it recognizes the Apollo
- Restart
- You might get that gray screen with the power button. Just click a key to continue.
- Rök out

Takes a few minutes at the beginning of a session, but am OK with that.

If there were a way to put to the computer to sleep, or not need to restart, would be awesome. Am just excited that it's working. Thanks all!

OK - another update. I actually don't need to do any of the steps listed above. It will be recognized if I just boot with the Apollo on, but it takes 5-10 minutes for it to be recognized.

Price? Why don’t put inside a thunderbolt option card?
I want the hexacore, unison on the HiZ inputs & faceplate controls. The comment about selling was more a joke / rhetorical question but will probably list on reverb after I run the x8 through its paces.

I purchased an Alpine Ridge. Can you upload the firmware for an AR or help with some guidance? Ever since you dropped that nugget of info saying the Alpine Ridge is better than the Titan Ridge for a Mac Pro- let's just say you've peaked my interest.

I'm also desperately trying to figure out how to get the Titan Ridge to work with certain hardware and not panic on a Mac Pro. This seems to happen quite often with certain Apollo devices. You have to boot 3 or 4 times and on the last boot- the cMP panics, but on the next restart the Apollo device works. So far my only hope is to use the Apollo along with a TB hub or TB docking station- there is a chance that combined we can avoid the panic. Still testing. Has anyone figured out how to avoid any panics?

Hello everyone! Sorry for the crooked translation. I use Google translate.
Today I reflashed my Gigabyte Titan Range v1.0, and I am pleased with the result. Thank you all! :)
Аor the performance test I used Akitio Node Lite TB3 and Digidesign 002 Rack (Firewire through adapters to TB3) - and my sound card is working stably.

I have a question - will work UA Apollo x4 (TB3)? Now there is no way to test yourself

Thanks again! You are the best
