Does anyone with an M8 have a rocky/loose power button? Mine seems to rattle a lot. Tried to get mine replaced today but none of the T-Mo stores around me had any in stock  At least I have two weeks to try and find another one.

Mine is a tad loose but it doesn't rattle. Not a big deal imo

I'm thinking of buying this case, please post some of your experiences when you receive it, like how the fit is and how the buttons are. I'd really appreciate it :)

I just remembered your post so here are some pics and impressions.

I really like the case so far, just got it today. The buttons feel great and the case makes the phone much less slippery. It also does not add too much bulk to the phone. Of course it adds some bulk and doesn't feel quite as nice in hand as the metal finish, but at least I won't drop it from being too slippery. It appears all ports are easily accessible. I have confirmed that the IR blaster doesn't work with the Slim Armor case on, which is a shame but not a deal breaker.

I bought the dot view case as well, and overall I like the Spigen Slim Armor better. Sorry for the poor quality pics, I took it sitting on the couch with my Note 3. Hopefully the pics still give you some idea of the fit and finish of the case and how the phone looks with it on. If you have any other questions just ask!

Even if HTC had a better camera in the M8, how many more would it sell? Today's food for thought. :)

The iPhone and Samsung is what is on Joe/Jane's radar blipping endlessly.

It likely would at least sell as well or better than the HTC one.

Many HTC one owners like myself were disappointed by its camera and moved on to other devices, or hoped the new m8 would resolve it - and now HTC may have lost a lot of those users. The decision to go ultrapixel certainly lost my sale this year, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

So unless they get a grip with marketing and go on a mega rampage with advertising, I can't see it selling as many as the HTC one.

Yep....the M8 is a great phone....very fast with all day and more battery life! The build quality is very top notch! I love the gunmetal gray! But the camera is holding it back in my opinion. I am sure the phone will gather a lot of awards for build and very nice UI experience!

Added an M8 to my collection. I really need therapy

My Phones as of 4-14-2014

Just took a few photos so far and the camera overall is pretty good. I wouldn't say fantastic but not as bad as people would fear. Love the form factor and how fast and responsive the phone is. Button placement is somewhat awkward but I got used to it pretty quick. As some of you have said, that area where the HTC logo is at is a waste of space.

Here are the first photos I have taken with this phone:

^ there is definitely a lot of therapy needed in this forum section :)

They actually aren't too bad images, (certainly on the better end of m8 pictures) can you do me a favour and take some of outdoors (landscape/garden/suburban) setting and post.

I do not think the M7 sold the low amount it did because of the camera. While the M8 camera is disappointing, time will tell if it outsells the prior.

And I am not sure how returns fit into the equation.

No what I meant is the M8 may sell less well than the M7 because of the camera.... If those that had the M7 didn't like it, or felt like it didn't live up to their expectations.

Then there is the new comers like me that are sick of Apple but don't like cheap quality Samsungs but still want a quality made phone.

I think the only thing you can say is with a better camera they would've sold more than they're selling now.

Is there a way to turn off the camera on feature with volume buttons when in landscape?

It takes a great selfie that's all that matters for most people these days:)

The HTC One M8 has a hard time with white and yellow in outdoor lighting. This yellow is too overexposed

2014-04-13 12.35.54
Again struggling with brighter colors outdoors

Where did they sky go?!

The M8 takes great shots indoors and does with with close up and macro shots. However, photos outdoors I get mixed results. A lot of the times, whites, yellows and other bright colors get too overexposed.

They look great, the only one that looks dodgy to me is the close up of the rose, never going to get the perfect camera in a phone, not now anyway.

Looks like there is a cheap version coming.

Now they should add a 13 to 16 MP shooter and they will sell a great deal of them!

They are available, they are called Canon or Nikon. It's nice having a phone that is not as common, i haven't seen one in the wild yet. Glad i didn't follow the crowd this time around:)

Anyway my M8 actually earns me a living, i don't need a overpriced toy loaded with gimmicks.

How does it earn you a living...if i may ask?
I had the M8 for almost a week. If I could take pictures like soulreaver99 i would still have it! It is a great phone enjoy!

I run my business off my mobile, i don't have landlines anymore. I have free call no's attached to my mobile no. In my office i use a bluetooth uniden phone connected to my M8 and use bluetooth in car.

When i get a new phone call quality/reception and speaker sound is my first priority. This has been the best phone for those things i have had, its like the person is in the same room with you.

Its just my opinion but i don't see why people get so attached to phones if its just for social use. I put my phone on do not disturb except for family after hours and weekends.
And my idea of a holiday is leaving the phone at home:)

Thank you. Whilst on one hand compression artefacts seem to have disappeared and generally the photos capture some good details in background objects within its 4mp limitation obviously, which is clearly an improvement over the M7 - the general over exposure issue persists. It's a shame because if it had managed to tone down those brighter areas and actually capture detail within them (rather than burn it out) the photos would be really quite good.

It's as if like the M7 the camera always captures a lot of light and doesn't know what to do with it, and even HTC's HDR algorithm just isn't able to adjust / compensate.

The Macro shots generally look great however, the same was true for the M7.
