My European Golf has a CD player in the glove box. I stuck a CD in there when I bought the car but never use it.
It also has an SD Card slot, which again I don’t use. Instead I use BT and play music from my phone if I’m not listening to the DAB radio.
Works well enough for me. I’d not care if my next car does or doesn’t have a CD player.

Some brands offered that option when they started installing those abhorrent and weak custom fit systems a couple years ago.

It did not seem super practical to me, but at least it was something.

Now maybe they are not even offering that in those cases.

I have a key for my 2015 car. I’d prefer my next car did as well. It’s hardly a hassle to press a button to open and stick it in the ignition.
A colleague had their new Ford Fiesta stolen due to keyless entry.
But it will be a few years before I buy again and it’s unlikely to be an option by then.
I keep my cars for a few years as I have very low mileage.

Car insurance is a hassle now?

I hate to agree with cube, but not only is it a hassle because now you need a new car ASAP, but you may not have been ready or in a position to buy one. You’re also out your $500-$1000 deductible. Of course that being said, the likelyhood of this happening to you is very slim. And not all keyless enter and go systems are the same. Some rank very highly in security.

This is why people with keyless entry cars are being urged to put their keys in a metal box in the middle of the house where thieves are unable to use them to transfer the signal to open and start the car. My father in law has to do this as it’s becoming a common method of theft where we live. Thankfully both my cars rely on proper keys lol.

Ford Raptor rumored to receive the GT500 engine (5.2 supercharged) over the course of the next two years.

https://www.autoblog.com/amp/2019/03/24/ford-rapter-mustang-shelby-gt500-v8-engine/

I mean, it _could_happen given the Ram Rebel TRX (700 HP Hellcat Tuned) is slated to debut some time around then, so the competition factor is there. I’m skeptical either way if Ford would cross-use this specific engine in a truck variant. Nonetheless, the Raptor itself needs a V8 again, a T.T. 3.5 application short sights this trucks potential given the nature of how aggressive Ford designed this. [Not to mention the sound of a V8 in a truck is much more fitting than a V6.] The caveat being the price tag with a V8 upgrade also includes a much higher MSRP. (Which doesn't even include dealer inflation.)

Look at the second article that I posted. A previous German study from January found 230 out of 237 keyless models to be insecure.

Which is more hassle than just using your key! Progress is supposed to improve our life, not add steps to make things more complicated.

Some people died when their keyless cars were kept running and now the US government wants to mandate an idling timer.

Yes, just clarifying your post for the naive.

The few keyless vehicles that were found to have good security are expensive.

I park my car in a faraday cage at night, so it shouldn't be an issue.

I recently purchased a large sheet of aluminum foil, so when I'm out in public, I wrap the car after locking it. Think of it like a giant tinfoil hat for the BMW.

Ain't nobody stealing my car!

How convenient.

You amateurs. I have a force field around our cars. It zaps people with current and kills them. Well, incinerates them to dust.

Fun-

2021 Ram Rebel TRX spied. [Hellcat engine/707 HP].

I’ve never been into trucks my whole life, only performance/muscle cars, but this is one vehicle that I’d be willing to make the exception for. Curious to see how Ford rivals this with the refreshed Raptor in the future. Plus, in the world of everything moving electric, it’s still nice to see the V-8 interchangeably being used.
