Let’s hope I don’t upset any Karen’s on this forum with my parking.....

Just remember, you only get one free hour. That’s it, nothing more. (Or you’ll be reported.)I have no issue with your parking habits.😁 (I park defensively away like that from everyone all the time.)

I am mortified to discover there is elitism among Jeep owners. Apparently Jeep Renegade owners(such as myself) are not seen as owning real Jeeps. Which is funny because it's Jeeps like mine that allow Fiat-Chrysler to fund the Wrangler & Gladiator.
Well, it is a Fiat 500x isn't it ;) Small, underpowered, beautiful only to its mother...In my opinion...

Isn't that the one that looks like it had Philips head screwdriver tail lights as well?

Just got the SS back from the ceramic coat. A little late night detailing with some minor cosmetic upgrades:

Christ don’t mention Fiat 500’s. My step mum had her heart set on one back in 2013 and I tried all ways to talk her out of it. She ended up buying a brand new one in aubergine purple. Because she has Parkinson’s with limited mobility she opted for the automatic gearbox too. The car was about two years old when the gearbox failed and the mileage was only 5k. Fiat inspected it and it had a crack down the side of the box and low and behold it wasn’t covered under the 3 year warranty! The repair was £3k and as a good will gesture they offered to pay £500 towards it.

She got the car repaired and it was immediately put in for part exchange against a Mazda CX-3. I’d never every buy a Fiat after her experience and every 500 I look up on the MOT database seems to have a shocking history of red flagged failures

As car people, I'm betting everyone here has a dream garage in mind. Like, budget-be-damned, what would you most wanna see in your garage each morning? Say there's a limit of 6 cars, something any decently-sized mansion could host ? ....what do you have?

It’s very evident you favor the European side. But you had me thinking, You know though, I don’t know that I’ve ever actually had a ‘dream car’ that I wanted to own—Aside from my current set-up.

But if I had to make a selection, it would probably be the retro-Classic muscle cars, like a 70’ Ford Torino Cobra, 67’ Barracuda and 69’ Boss 429. If you look at the value of those cars, they will continue to appreciate juts because of the Model year/limited production.

I’m not sure if you’re familiar with Barrett Jackson, [they basically are the worlds largest auto auction down in Scottsdale], some of these muscle cars sell well over $300,000 with the original motor/trans. (Of course maintained and likely has one, maybe two owners with 10,000 miles or less, all original documentation, ect).

But if I had to pick one modernized ‘dream car’ in my garage, that would be the 19’ Ford GT.

The engineering behind this spectacle is just incredible.

Ferrari FP90 Stradnot just stunning but also the fastest car around the Top Gear track ever and by some margin. And it’s green as well, a plug-in hybrid, would love to see the look on the face of a Leaf owner when that is parked in the charging spot ?

A true modern beast, and surprisingly good value for money. Only 40 Bitcoin ?

What’s so incredible about the engineering? Doesn’t it have the engine from a pickup truck? Similar power to a German saloon company car. And interior switch gear you find in a Ford Mondeo or Focus.

Looks nice but the execution I am not so sure about.

Only one and I did own an example 20 years ago. BMW 850Ci, hell red, black leather. Not that special in most people's eyes I am sure but that would be the one for me. If I was pushed to choose a second pretty much any V12 Aston Martin would do.

What’s so incredible about the engineering?

From a design standpoint, well...just look at it.😁 The aerodynamics, the overall stance of the vehicle, I know you’re from the UK, But I gather you probably don’t have any idea the rarity behind these supercars. But since you asked-

Here’s a few snippets behind the engineering:

The GT's rear spoiler can both rise vertically and tilt, its horizontal surface angling upward to capture extra downforce and drag when needed.

“With heat dissipation After passing through the fender-mounted intercoolers, newly heated air then flows above each rear wheel to the GT's tail, where it exits through the centers of the taillights.”

“The GT can lower itself at speed for stability and better aerodynamics. In true supercar form, a button in the cabin can lift the front end when faced with inconsiderately designed driveway ramps and speed humps.“

Doesn’t it have the engine from a pickup truck?

It has a 3.5 TT V6 like the F-150, but it’s Tuned completely different with the build with the block, turbos, heads, putting out 647HP/550Tq.

I don’t know about you, but I’d say that’s fairly incredible engineering for a car that cost well over $500,000, and in some cases, fetches north of a million at auctions.

Yes, I want one.....

Damn, so Aston Martin does build some of the most beautiful cars. Maybe I add a V12 Vantage. And a One-77.

The Ford GT is amazing, but the new mid-engine C8 Corvette is too.

I think I need a bigger garage...

Some nice choices in there. I don’t think you can beat European design to be honest. The Germans and Italians make perhaps the most beautiful cars but the Brits develop the best performance engines in the world, ask Mercedes :p

Never having driven any of them, it would be tough for me to pick. But if I was playing, I’d think about including a Viper and an NSX, for variety’s sake.

Now, a six-car garage; that would be something I could get excited about. ?

Oooh, forgot about the mid engine C8. I actually considered one last year. I still keep watch on eBay motors, but still might be a trigger pull for me in the future or maybe an EV with the new Mach I, not sure yet. But the C8 is a much more obtainable car v.s. these other exotic/super cars that we have listed that have the rarity factor. The C8 definitely Is not in my dream garage, but I would have to experience one at some point.

I mean, sure, but sharing the same platform is kinda inevitable nowadays. The Jeep Renegade has far superior off-road capabilities than it's Fiat 500X sibling. Just as the Grand Cherokee is not the same car as the Dodge Durango or Mercedes-Benz M-Class despite sharing the same platform. Nor is the Dodge Charger the same as Chrysler 300. This is a really bad take, and no, The tail lights are designed to invoke the look of the old 1945 Jeep gas can. They look nothing like a philips head screw. Anywho, given the terrible modifications that people do to their Wranglers and then never do anything more than go grocery shopping with them? I think the fact that I can hit some awesome trails in my Renegade speak quite highly for the vehicle.

Elitism is never a good look.

I’m not sure where you get elitism from. Only you seem to bring that up. Heck a Daihatsu can also be great off-road. Doesn’t make it desirable though. But also doesn’t mean if one thinks it is not that one is being elitist.

You come across to me like you’d rather had a wrangler and are justifying the renegade to yourself ;)

If you love it you love it, doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks ?

None of those features are particularly unique. In fact their implementation is rather rudimental as I understand and not very sophisticated for non track usage. Nor is that amount of power that unique. Heck a BMW 5 series family saloon can provide that. To me it’s just a Ford, an expensive Ford.

But great we all have different dreams ?
