I heard about this from a review last night. The iPad needs a high-powered USB port in order to charge. So when you plug it into a regular USB port it will display the "Not Charging" message.
(That's why it comes with a 10W power adapter.)

The perfect bathroom browser......seriously, after I got over the fact that it wasn't a "proper" computer or content creation device.....I now appreciate it as a convenient entertainment device.
What if . . . like many iPhones . . . it falls in the can?

I just received mine at home, haven't opened the package yet - even the UPS guy was excited about it as he told me smiling that I was one of the first on his route to receive it. Silly stuff, but undeniably fun - even in my 30s.

No, they'll be wishing they had a 3g iPad when you get yours. Patience. And you'll have a more robust OS version.
Congrats to all you guys on receiving your new toys. I think though that the Mods here should do the decent thing and block anyone browsing from a non-US IP address from viewing these threads. We're excited enough as it is about the iPad without you lot teasing us

Has that got a screen protector on or is the screen plastic rather than glass like the iPhone? The reflection appears rippled like you get with plastic protective film.

I live out in Rochester, and a truck has to come from KBUF to Henrietta in the AMs because the UPS flight goes out there... so that happened this morning, and I am still waiting.... lol. But I am excited none the less
Lebanon, TN still waiting....my wife made me come inside. She said 60 year olds should know to come in when its raining and that the big brown truck would still stop if i was in the house. Do you guys think it will stop if i'm inside?

No, mine still said "Destination Scan." I was actually getting a little worried and I was about to call UPS when the doorbell rang. I've also heard from the UPS guys on twitter that they're using a different system this morning for the iPad deliveries so don't worry if it doesn't say "out for delivery."
The fact that I have to wait yet another month for mine to traverse the Atlantic rips my heart into tiny little miserable pieces...

It comes fully wrapped in a plastic protector. The screen is almost the same as the iPhone, as far as I can tell (in terms of physical qualities, not resolution, etc).
