Only a handful at some apple stores?

Anybody experiencing the same? At my local store, Chesnut hill Boylston st Newton MA, at 7 am, we were about 20 ipad customers. By the time, the store opened, we were like 100 max. I was their first iPad customer,first in line, but I guess it doesn't matter when there is only a handful of people behind you LOL. Never the less it was a great experience. I'm happy to be typing my first post on macrumors using my Ipad.

First quick impressions.
Games will be awesome. Played Basketball on it and it was smooth. Switching is FAST! Non- Native iPad apps are not horrible in most cases. Still usable. I loved it so much that I decided to get 2.

1 16gb for the wife, and a 64gb for myself.

very nice. Although 16Gb seems like it would get chewed through quickly.

In Savannah, GA...still waiting. Our iPads (ordered two...one for me and one for my other half) arrived here at 8:47 am and there is no "out for delivery" scan, but that's not unusual with UPS. Still, I have a really crappy track record with them and am holding my breath and trying not to look out the window every 5 minutes. Meanwhile, FedEx has already come and gone with a delivery for me...why, oh why did Apple switch and go with UPS over FedEx for this?! Especially since FedEx actually has a standard Saturday delivery service. Blast!

Did you ever think to check the Tech Spec page on the iPad? Does anybody with Hardware/Software questions ever check there??

I've asked myself the same question . . . . over and over again
Considering the delivery service I'll consider myself lucky and fortunate to get my delivery by 7 pm. Fed Ex always delivers in the morning but UPS typically shows up around 6 pm like clockwork (that is if I get the delivery and they don't run off before I make it, and with them I usually run, to the door).

About to pull trigger to get the WIFI model

Woke up this morning and started pondering, "Maybe I should have ordered the WIFI version".... Maybe its worth the $499 for the feeling of being first.... But dunno.... I think patience is a virtue. Nah.... I am going now to BB and buy the WIFI version... ok so I will have both a WIFI and 3g... its ok!

The first thing out of the driver's mouth instead of "hello" or "good morning" was "why would you spend so much money on a sub par laptop?". Haha. Got to love customer service.

True. True. I think my concern though is the reasoning behind releasing a 16GB version for a device that can do just as much as a laptop. I would certainly max that drive in a few hours with games, apps, music and books. For the average person maybe not?

So you do have to sync it to use it. It's just a consumption device like an iPod.

Do you not want your favorite bookmarks from your Safari web browser, e-mail addresses, photos in iPhoto, songs in iTunes, or movies or tv shows for that matter, calendar events your tracking in your iCal to not show up on your iPad.

That's why I'm thinking people are syncing their consumption device... so they can do some more consuming!
