What's the SMC software? Is that Power Nap? I didn't see any Power Nap options in my Energy settings...

I'm trying to figure out my Mail. When I press Delete or move something to Trash, it doesn't actually go there. So frustrating! I don't have enough space on my HD to keep all this junk!!

Received mine today. Transferring my time machine backup from my old external drive to my new external. 100 gigs is going to take awhile since the old external had drive is 2.0.

Is it set up as Pop account? If not, it is only mirroring what is on yr server, and you will only be able to delete from there or if you have pop account set on another computer.

so i figured out what the problem is: Mail automatically configures my Yahoo email as IMAP. On my old Mac, it's actually configured as POP, which is why I the server activity is separate from my Mail application. But for some reason, with Lion and Mountain Lion, there's no option for me to set the account to POP. So I guess I'll just have to learn to live with it.

As a side note, Yahoo keeps timing out and I have to repeat the import process over and over. :(

That's no good ..I mean , not having the option and if this is yr main computer. I have my main email account set up as imap on my iPad, as I want all mail controlled from iMac, a pop account. But on the Air I will want that option to choose either.

So, is this a problem with ML?

Try this: http://paulschreiber.com/blog/2011/02/19/howto-set-up-imap-email-for-yahoo/

It's for lion but should work for ML as well

It probably depends on who your email provider is but configuring as imap is what you want usually

It's something I've learned I'll have to live with. I was at the Apple Store and we tried to figure out how to change the settings to POP. It wouldn't do it. Yeah it means there's a lot of junk on my computer - or no junk at all anywhere (IMAP is kind of all or nothing in terms of your emails), but there are bigger problems in the world I suppose...

That shows how to set up IMAP. 10.8 sets up IMAP just fine. That's the problem, lol. But thanks.

Dyslexia strikes again...have you tried googling it?

I haven't manually set up an account in mail since snow leopard. My gmail is setup to forward all mail to my @me/iCloud address so I keep that account on the computer

Its ok CRIIM. I'm getting used to it. Mountain Lion is still a bit buggy as hell. Things/settings don't work, lol. My lighted keyboard doesnt go on/off automatically and AIM keeps logging in/out. Oh well.

It's lunch time. You know what that means. SEARED AHI!

Hey, I'm new to Macrumors and thought it might be "fun" to start off here....

I ordered my Macbook Air 13" everything maxed out except the SSD - 256GB on 03Aug2012 - Friday and it hasn't even left China yet even though it gets here on Thursday - Hopefully. FedEx says "In Transit."

On another topic, please don't "shun" me if I "Re-Post" something or post in the wrong area.
So does anybody know of any useful or cool accessories - I already got my sleeve/bag down. I am looking for a hard shell at the moment and would appreciate suggestions. I am not looking to spend $40 on a Speck one at Amazon.

Thank you! :D

I find that a hardshell adds weight, takes away from the aesthetic, and makes the computer less fun to use. A sleeve is the only accessory I need. I may get a keyboard cover because I really want to keep this clean but that also goes against said principle.

I was thinking to get a keyboard cover too but - I mean - this is my first mac and I'm kinda trying to "baby" it.... I thought a clear case would protect it yet also keeping the beauty of it? Does it really make it less fun to use?

Well you can always try it and see if you like it. Personally I don't like how it collects dirt inside. It makes the computer look worse over all, if you ask me. And how it looks is part of the fun, IMO.

Well what would you suggest to protect it while in use... We have a baby in the house.

Oh you have a baby? I would get microfiber cloths if you don't already have them. Keyboard protector and hardcase in case you're afraid of it puking on your computer or something. I would get a matte black hard case. It looks better than clear IMO. Doesn't have to be Speck. There are better brands out there like Incepio I think..

Anybody else have any opinions on this topic?

You're probably tired of hearing from me, but there's not much else to say. Get what you think you'll like. A clear hardcover will be perfectly fine if that's what you like. You have much bigger things to worry about, like your baby. :) These are just cases, covers. No big deal really.

I'm currently shopping online for a keyboard cover too...thanks to you, haha. I found something called Rearth but checking out Amazon for more options.

I got the speck satin hard shell for mine. The top adds almost nothing but the bottom has its own feet so it makes it slightly thicker.

I don't really see the need for a keyboard cover. My late 08 unibody MacBook Pro spent most of its life getting used and abused. Including plenty of time in an automotive shop and at race tracks on weekends and the keys are barely worn at all.

Ordered the 13" MBA with i7 / 8GB RAM / 256 GB SSD yesterday for grad school. Completely paid for by my employers since getting a masters is a requirement of the job. I already have a 2011 17" MBP but we get a free computer as part of the masters program so I decided to ask for a MBA since I'm going to be taking it to the office everyday.
