The "I just bought/ordered/got/shipped my new/refurb MBA" thread, [Merged]

Finally ordered my BTO 11" today! :) Estimated delivery is between August 22-24. Feels like ages away, but I guess it's gonna take a little longer since i'm getting a student voucher along with it. Either way, can't wait to receive it!
 
Finally gave in and bought a 13", 2Ghz, 8GB, 256SSD, along with a 2TB USB 3.0 portable external.

I considered playing the waiting game further into possible Oct updates, but I need a computer ASAP!

Do you think they would update the MacBook Air's in October? They just updated them. I am waiting to buy one until it has a retina display on it. I don't think these will come out until next year because of battery issues.

most of the time I'd tell people just to buy, but if you must have retina in an air body then wait. It's not definite that it's october (still rumors at this point).
 
Ordered my BTO 13" Air on the 8th Aug. It's been "Preparing for Shipment" for a day now.

Could it still ship tomorrow (Saturday) even though it's not a business day in the western world? Or do they work regardless?
 
Just ordered a 11" MacBook Air 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 with 128gb flash storage and 4gb ram. I was considering getting a new one but since I could get no sales tax on computers under $1000(no sales tax on that till midnight tomorrow in GA). I also, didn't think there was enough change for me to notice and justify spending over $999(the 64gb probably wouldn't cut it for me)

I don't think they will update the MBA in Oct, nor do I think they will put a Retina display on a MBA before the 13" Retina Macbook Pro surfaces, which at this point does seem to be in Oct (and upsets me a little).

You're probably right in thinking it will take a year (or longer) for a Retina MBA. Better batteries coupled with low-power displays & cpus will go a long way to making it possible.
 
My MBA 13 arrived today!

MBA 13" i5 8GB 256 special ordered Friday morning, August 3 from online Apple store.

Shipped late night, Monday, August 6

Fedex delivery 2:00 PM, Friday, August 10

Picked up the base MBA 13" last week.

Really awesome machine, spectacular industrial design. So comfortable to use coming from a 2009 Dell Studio XPS.

And my first time owning an Apple computer. Really blows Windows away in terms of refined interface.

Does get a bit toasty when doing anything semi-intensive (boils when playing Limbo). But I knew that might be the case going in...Photoshop and Illustrator work great.

Love...this...machine!

Edit: forgot to mention the absolute biggest benefit of this computer: The trackpad. It's absolutely flawless and is a delight to use. Probably the EXACT opposite of every windows laptop I've ever used. Just superb.

I love this thing! This is what a laptop should be. Sleek, light, fast, good battery power, yet able to run some good games.

Havent found much of anything to complain about.

Except the thinness of my wallet!
 
Just ordered a 13" MBA with 128gb SSD, 8gb RAM.

Also ordered 3TB USB 3.0 External HDD.

Should be here August 16-20.


Very excited to have a ultra portable laptop to take with me on road trips & plane rides.

Will post back reviews when it arrives....which needs to be NOW. :D

Seen as though the weekend is almost over, the answer is no if anyone was wondering. :)
 
Ordered Aug 9th and it has been preparing to ship since last night (Friday). Saturday night now and no update. I've heard there are times when the apple site is late updating and the computer is shipped. Hope you and I both see an update soon and they are well on their way. We will see.
 
My tracking link no longer works - and now when I try to log in I get a page that says "We're Sorry. Something wen't wrong with your request."

Nice.

I am now able to access the order status page.

I ordered it on August 7th and it is reading "preparing for shipment", with a delivery date of August 15th-17th.

Are the dates usually accurate?

My original order was preparing to ship on a Friday, shipped on Saturday, and was in Germany by Sunday evening. Got it on the Wednesday night but it didn't work. :mad: The replacement was preparing to ship this last Friday, shipped on Saturday... and still hasn't left China. :confused: I thought at least it would be consistent!
 
My order was preparing to ship on Friday and still not shipped. Guess it will be Monday. Things have seemed a little weird with the site going up and down . . . so still hoping when it all updates my order will be well on it's way to N.C. And if not . . well it's a long way from the end of the world LOL

My MBA has been preparing to ship since Wednesday, hopefully that changes to shipped tomorrow! :)
 
Got my 11" MBA delivered today in tip-top condition. Can't say I can report any problems.

Mountain Lion was pre-installed. Have had a great night checking out all the gestures - this is my first Lion experience as coming from Snow.

Wow. What a little beauty :) Must take about 3.. 4 seconds to start-up. 1 - 2 seconds shutdown.

SO, ended up being delivered and shipped exactly on time. Pretty happy with it.

Rushed off and bought the Ethernet -> TB adapter today and it works great.

Really loving all the full-screen stuff, installed all the apps I want here. This baby is good to go. Couldn't be happier !

It was a joy in my backpack today, hardly noticed it.

Even thinking about signing up to iTunes Match so I can stream music to this little puppy wherever I am !

Stoked!

And for what it's worth, loving Mountain Lion. Comes across as an amazing OS.
