Advice Needed Please

My order status is now Shipped!!!

On the Apple site when i click Track Shipment it states delivery will be the 14th Aug.

On the UPS site it states the MBA arrived in Germany on the 12th Aug at 19.52 with an Scheduled Delivery of the 16th of Aug.

My question is with your experience of Apple should i trust the date from Apple or the date on the UPS site?

It's being delivered to Scotland.

I am trying to figure out how much memory is left on my Air. A friend mentioned it might have started to run slow because I had not enough memory left so I dumped some music I had replicas elsewhere of. It's running faster but I want to check out how much memory is actually left...

I placed an order yesterday for my first Mac, 13" Macbook Air Core i5 w/ 8Gb of ram and 128SSD.

I'm super excited.. this thing better hurry up and ship!

How long after your order had been marked as shipped were you guys able to track it on that Expo site? Mine was shipped yesterday but when I input the reference number of my order it shows up as "no data" on Expo, hmm?

I finally did it yesterday and ordered a 13" MBA Ultimate (i7/8/512) from Future Shop.

And no, I won’t ask when you think I’ll get it and if ML will be on it. It’ll get here when it gets here. In the mean time, it’s backup time, Monolingual & ClamXav AV download.

I know I know, we don’t really need an AV but I have Windows fiends and I respect them enough to wear protection…

Here's a follow-up to my story: Ordered my 13" MBA Ultimate on July 26 via Future Shop here in Canada. I just found out today that it was shipped from China on Aug-10 - that's 15 days after the order was put in! Way to go Future Shop for a well oiled machine (where's the sarcasm font?).

Anyway, it should here by Aug-16 (or 21 days later).

That's odd. I still get "no data" when I put in the Apple reference # at the Expo site. I haven't gotten any tracking number for UPS or TNT yet though as my order will be merged with a student giftcard, but I should still be able to track the computer..

Does it not state who your assigned carrier is?

No, it says I will get that info/a tracking number at the latest 48 hours before the delivery. But I know other people here were able to track their orders from the Expo site up until that point by using Apples reference number.

Bought my little bro-in-law a 13" 2012 Air (8gb/128) for college. He's stoked - ordered it on 8/5 I think and he got it on 8/10 w/ the 2 day shipping option.

Went and visited family last weekend and saw my dad's 13" 2012. So doubly jealous.

Hit Microcenter as they were closing tonight and grabbed a 2011 11" w/ 4GB/256 for $999, but wondering if I should return it and get a 13 2012 at best buy. Gah. Thought I was getting a pretty good deal (apple refurb has the 2011's for 1119$US) but am gonna have to sleep on it.

Guess if I open it I'll definitely enjoy it.

5th August - Ordered 13" / 8GB / 128GB

Arrived today - posting on it now. It has Mountain Lion on it so I'm delighted as it's saved me a load of hassles downloading it with my lousy internet connection

Left Shanghai via Virgin Atlantic 5:40AM BST 14/Aug.
Arrived at LHR around 6PM 14/Aug.
It left via GoldStar to Apple's distribution center and arrived there at 5PM on 15/Aug.
It was promptly dispatched via UPS within a few hours.
Arrived this afternoon on the 16th Aug.

I'm happy to report my CTO 13" Air (2.0GHz i7, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD) came with Mountain Lion pre-installed (needed to do an SMC update to enable PowerNap).

Has a Samsung Screen and SSD

Apple released a small (3MBish) "firmware" update which enables the Power Nap feature on the MacBook Airs and rMBP shortly after Mountain Lion was released. It should show up as an update in the Mac App Store.

You'll know if it's installed if you have the Power Nap option in the Energy Saving Preference settings.

Bang! Pulled the trigger.

I ordered a mid 2012MBA, loaded up. 2.0 i7 processor, 13in., 8gigs of ram, 512 gig SSD.

Since its BTO, I wont have it until next week. Should be worth the wait, I hope

Anyone using a magic track pad or magic mouse? I've never been fond of track pads for surfing or editing photos...is it workable, or is the trackpad no good for that?

Umm I got the magic mouse as a gift, and NEVER use it . But then again I don't do photo editing, seriously at least. I only use it if I play Civ 5 which is never lol.
