When does apple do their back to school deals? Usually before Fall semester? Now that I have my Air, might pick up a maxed out imac after they (if they do) release any new models, etc of anything.

that's what i'm waiting for too. that or the tax free weekend. how awesome would it be if they overlapped!

I just received the refurb MBA 2012 13 inch i7 8gb 256ssd that i ordered for my wife's 30th...

What an excellent machine. Best mac we've ever owned. Can't really tell if its really a refurb, I have my doubts! I'm going refurb from now on. Have done so in the past with a 2TB time capsule, and have no issues whatsoever.

Gonna get myself an Air one day...

I bought a base 13" model from Best Buy on sale for 999.99... This is a pretty great as a such a light and portable laptop. My iMac will be my main machine, but I got the iMac because I started losing interest in the iPad. I enjoy OS X much more than iOS. I felt too limited by iOS (and by tablets in general) and wanted a laptop that was just about as portable as an iPad.

I bought a very small portable 1TB USB 3.0 drive along with it. So much storage on the go...

I feel like I might be one of the people that actually might ditch the iPad for a laptop. I am keeping the iPad (for now).

Just ordered my first personal Mac. Should be here around April 4th.
13" MacBook Air with i7/8GB/256GB :)

I had been planning to wait until June-ish for the new Haswell processors, but decided that it wasn't really worth the wait for my needs. Probably a longer wait anyway before the new processors ship without the USB 3.0 glitch I've read about...
I had thought about a 13" retina MBP, but I've seen a 15" retina and wasn't all that blown away. And the possible screen issues I've read about don't sound too good.

Plus, my birthday is tomorrow so what a great birthday present for myself! :D

just got an air

and im impressed! i already have a 13" pro with SSD so im not blown away by the speed like some people, what does impress me is how incredibly light it is! and for an 11" how big the screen feels.
while i wouldnt have it as my only computer, its a bloody excellent addition to the collection and id recommend to anyone considering one

I bought my 2012 MacBook Air 13" / 128GB / 4GB from the eBay project Apple was doing called Refurbished_OUtlet for $899 shipped! IMO you can't beat that! I love it so far, and looking to get an upgrade to the SSD once the prices start coming down a little bit.

I just got my 13" MBA with the stock (4GB/128GB) and I love it. The weight is great compared to my old MBP (would have kept it but it went and died on me and I have been unable to fix it). But really I was looking for an excuse to make myself get an Air anyways.

I would have gotten the 8GB upgrade but everything that will be RAM intensive I can easily do on my Mini since I up'd it to 16GB.

New MBA for me

Just got (last week, actually) a 13" MBA, see signature below for specifics. I did not go for the top of the line, in fact when near the bottom of the 13" line, because I had an urgent need for a new computer (due to Turbo Tax online) but did not want to go all-in (e.g., maxed-out Retina) until the refreshed models come out this summer or fall. This is a lovely little laptop, but a 15" screen is definitely my personal preference. This one will probably go t one of my granddaughters eventually. For now, I am quite happy with it. Oh, yes, this thing is blazing fast with the SSD, makes my old, well used and well loved iMac seem, well, old. :)

Can anybody help me out with this merge in transit business? How can I still track my shipment?

Just Bought a Maxed-out 2012 MBA

I just picked up my maxed-out 13' MBA. I have been using MBP's since 2008. Love the Air. It is fast, light, sleek, and overall awesome. I hope to get many years of good use out of it. Thinking about selling my iPad since the Air seems to cover all the basis for me.

Mac: MacBook Air (13" Mid-2011) • CPU: Intel Core i5-2557M @ 1.7GHz • RAM: 4.0GB• HDD: 256GB • GPU: Intel HD Graphics 3000 [384 MB] Res: 1440 x 900 • Audio: AppleHDA • OS: OS X 10.8.3 [12D78] x64

I got this little guy off craigslist for $700, in perfect condition, only 39 counts on battery... pretty happy with it... seemed like a really good deal, one i got for a change as I always give em when I sell my macs.

i really dig it, i felt i was being careless with my rMBP using it on bed and the couch and running around town... so will use the MBA for those purposes and vacations, and leave my rMBP on my desks for my home office/work.

i just bought the mid-12 macbook air. i got it for 939 at best buy. i know there is a new one most likely coming next month, but this is my secondary laptop so if the new one is a bit faster or has more space im fine with what i have.

this one is only for playing on the internet or if i am traveling somewhere.

so far i love it, and im shocked at how fast it is
