So the MacBook Air is my first Mac...

Bloody hell.
I love it.

The sheer speed, compatibility, elegance & endurance of this machine makes one smitten.

From using Windows for almost 15 years,
I am now a sworn Mac user for a foreseeable time to come.
Please welcome me with open arms. :D
So kind people, any tips for a new Mac user?

MBA will be my first Mac also (13/8/512/i7). Lifetime Windows user.

I doubt I'll enjoy the same level of ebullience you express, but I am waiting for arrival with muted excitement.

As a new mac convert myself, there are are few frustrations learning a new os, but that's part of the adventure, yes? I've been googling a number of mac issues for the past couple months in preparation for the transition (such as "how to put 'save as' option back into mountain lion" and 'how to print a booklet in pages") in order to reduce any thought on returning to windows. Enjoy your new mac!

Has anybody had their tracking information go quiet for over a day? My last notification was 'shipment in transit' from Pudong intl airport (Shanghai) at 9:30pm on Friday. You would think it would have arrived at thie destination airport by now ( should be landed in Sydney or Auckland for delivery in New Zealand). Do TNT just not update the shipping information on the weekends?

Ahhh so good to hear someone else has had a similar frustration. Mine was stuck at Pudong airport from 19.06 - 21.06 when it was then listed as having arrived in Sydney. There's a TNT note saying "21 Jun 2013 15:40:00 Sydney Delay Due To Congestion En Route. Recovery Action Underway."
Today on the 23.06 it said Sydney - In transit on its way to Melbourne for a scheduled delivery tomorrow.

Not sure quite what's been going on with TNT but as long as it arrives tomorrow I'm happy.

When is your expected date? And I'm assuming yours won't have arriving a few days early like some other lucky buggers on here?

That's the same info as mine.
Should be in the UK by mid morning as there's a flight in to Stansted at 8pm tonight and 7am tomorrow. If it was a quick turnaround, it got the first one, if not the second.

Hey mike,

Mine says Shipment received in Melbourne 0543Hrs

It doesn't say 'on its way for scheduled delivery tomorrow'. Just estimated delivery is 24th June.

The last time I had a delivery from Apple was UPS and it would at least say,'Dispatched for delivery'. Any idea mate?

Looks like our pallet slept in and missed it's connection :(

Yep :(
Mine still says delivery is expected by the end of the 26th. Hope so! I could do with it getting here by the 28th.

I assume either someone forgot to scan it or maybe it's waiting for another delivery to that hub so it can be joined on and sent in one load to the UK. Hopefully by the morning it will be in the UK at the main hub.

I now have a UPS tracking number, which gives me no information other than a label being created. Guessing I'll get it tomorrow.

Called the chadstone store in Melbourne a few days earlier and found that they had stock of the ultimate build of the 13" MBA. Got the last one when I arrived in store. Leaps ahead of the Ultimate MBA I had in 2010 and only slightly behind my 2011 fully decked out MBP in performance. Once again a notebook that feels comfortable to work with on my lap.

Oh you know that TNT website is such a joke. Mine supposedly arrived in Melbourne at 4am this morning after being in transit from Sydney last night at 10pm. But anyways I got the text message at 7:45am this morning and sure enough received my MBA around 10am. It did ship on the expected date on TNT's website. But that isn't updated instantly from what I learnt.

It's so worth it though people. Coming from a 2009 MBP 5400rpm / 2.53 C2D. The battery life + speed is just amazing.

The apple apps are open before the first bounce is actually complete !

Lots of fellow Melbournians!

I'm second guessing my purchase (which is still in the processing stage).

Assuming the pricing stays the same for the next rMBP, is it worth $230 for a retina screen, higher clocked CPU, and Intel 5100 instead of 5000? Hmm.
