Would you order a refurbished 2024 MBA from a seller on Amazon (listed as "excellent") or only directly from Apple? It's cheaper than what Apple is charging, and I assume it is warranted the same a new model with a 30-day return policy.

Depends where and how much cheaper it is.
If it's <10% less, no.

The Apple Warranty starts on activation date, as well as the possibility to activate Apple Care+.

Also, mine is arriving tomorrow hopefully. Incredibly slow service, the machine was ready at ADSC on 6/4 and they just have to send it over the pond (Shanghai to Tokyo). It "departed" Shanghai yesterday, presumably, no status update since yesterday 4pm JST. That's 4 days transit to ship from Shanghai to Tokyo which is a 2hrs flight away, I get Fedex to ship things from Tokyo to Poland in 2 days door to door lol :(

Finally mine arrived :) Beautiful color. Now I wish if they'll make a titanium one 😂

Tho for some reason the set up was harsh.
It named the machine as "Alex' Laptop" and I really hated it lol. I renamed it to Alex' Starlight but it took forever to sync in iCloud in device list.

Setting up Apple Care was dubious. Apple JP has geolock and requires to have a Japanese card which I don't anymore. My account is in Poland now. So After many trials I just went on the US site and activated it there (no geo lock, just VPN needed).

I still get that error with "finish apple care+ setup" (linking to account and having the account's card pay for it) but it should be fine.

For some reason Dashlane's extension in safari didn't want to work properly either.

I ordered a MacBook Air 13" m3 yesterday, but today I noticed it wasnt in stock and they couldn't say when I would receive it so I got one at the local Apple Store instead, even if it was a little bit more expensive... I just couldn't wait when I had no idea if it would take a week or two months... o_O It replaced my MacBook Air from early 2015 which have been very reliable for a long time but now I wanted to upgrade. I chose the starlight, very beatiful color! :D

Okay so I absolutely adore my M1 MBA. I stand by the claims I’ve made that is one of, if not, the best computers Apple has ever made. It is certainly my favorite and I’ve owned my fair share of Apple laptops and desktops.

So today I was taking a gander on eBay and I noticed something that caught my eye. A very lightly used, practically new M2 MBA 15”. Now I was convinced and have been for some time that the 15” MBA would be my next purchase as far as Apple computers go but I was waiting for the right situation. I know the M3’s just came out so the M2 is a bit behind but I couldn’t pass up the deal.

For less than $1200 I was able to get this 15” M2 MBA with 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD. That is unheard of. I was going to wait until there was either a big sale on the M3 variant or possibly wait until the M4 version came out to match my M4 iPad Pro but I couldn’t resist. It came from a reputable seller so I don’t think there’s any funny business going on I just cashed in on a really good situation.

First time in this topic and the forum!!

Hope to contribute with the community and learn a lot too.

Last week I finally managed to get an MacBook Air and opted for the M3 model with the basic specs because here in Brazil even the basic specs have a higher price. (1300 dollars aprox.)

I'm like, very happy with my acquisition. It's my first Macbook and I hope the first of many more to come.

And that's it hahahha

Just an update. I posted above about my MBA M2 15”. Well on Friday I finally received it via USPS and it is everything I was hoping for!

It’s Midnight Blue and essentially brand new. Previous owner bought it in April on a payment plan of some sort but decided they didn’t want to follow through so it went up on eBay and I took it from there. It only had 5 battery cycles on it and while it is just past the 60 day AppleCare eligibility I believe that because it still has the limited warranty active I can take it to the Apple Store and still have them manually add AC once they inspect.

Overall for what I paid it’s an absolute steal and I’m very happy with how nice it is! 😁

Picked up a 13" 16/512 M3 in midnight. Love the colour, def improvement with FP over the M2.
Was $400AUD off. Perfect size for my uses.

Same number of fingerprints but the difference is on the M3 you can use a micro-fiber towel and clean them off fairly easily. The M2 was definitely harder to clean.

Ok, I had only tried the M2 15" way back.
Love the colour.

This thing makes my 24" iMac 8Gb seem slow.

Just bought a 15” M3 MBA 16GB/1TB from B&H on sale. It is for my daughter to replace her 2017 i5 MBA 8/128! Her old MBA was no longer cutting it and she needed a new laptop prior to starting her Senior year at college. I strongly suspect it was the 128 storage that was the issue, running 80-90% full and she was regularly off loading and reloading stuff.

Would have liked to wait for the M4 but the school term starts in a couple of weeks, so the clock was running out. But if this new machine lasts her another 7 years, one model year won’t make that much of a difference.

I JUST BOUGHT MY MAXBOOK TODAY, KILLER LAPTOP!
You surely need a new MacBook Air, as you're really confused.

1st: There's no MaxBook, so I assume you mean a MacBook Air as that is what your signature says.
2nd: There's no MacBook Air's with 8TB RAM nor with 256TB storage

But pls tell us that you know someone at Apple that have fixed the specs you claim you have 😉

MacBook Pro M3 Max?

I’ve actually seen that MaxBook nickname before, back in the M1 Max days.
Bur he said it was an MacBook Air, they have never had any Max chip, but correct me if you seen or heard of any.
I have a 2022 Max 1gen chip in my Studio, so I should call it Max1Studio, maybe, I'm cool with that. 😎

I own a MBP M2 Pro, 16Gb/512Gb. Literally the only reason I own(ed) it was the ProMotion display...I'm one of those who was given headaches by the MBA screen.

Ran across StillColor and a buddy installed it on his MBA...and I had no issues with headaches. :)

Waiting on a Midnight Blue MBA M3 16Gb/512Gb to be delivered today. :)

Since my Apple refurb 2016 MBP is dying a slow bedraggled death, I just pulled the trigger on buying my first Macbook Air. Found it on Apple's refurbished page so saved $355. Can't wait to see the midnight color. It arrives tomorrow.

Awesome. Once you receive it please do share your experience buying refurbished from Apple and how the laptop turned out, if you don’t mind. I am eying a similar spec 13” and am wondering about the refurbished route. Thanks.

Just a quick note, my 2016 was purchased at Apple's refurb store. It has served me well for 8 years & now becomes my backup computer. I'm hoping the new MBA refurb does just as well.

Ditched my iPad Pro M4 a week ago, ended up with a M1 MacBook Air from Walmart. Yes I like it better, and no it doesn't feel slower despite half the memory and far less performance on paper.

Just bought an 13" M3 Air with 24/512GB from Best Buy. I have their Total plan that gives me AppleCare on everything so I only buy pen-box to get a good deal, knowing that I'll have AppleCare for 2 years. I traded in a 16" M1 Pro that I got 18 months ago for $775 and got the Air for 1100 (only paid 1100 for the M1 Pro buying it open box). Figured the extra memory/single core performance would offset the slightly better GPU performance from the M1 Pro.

Also wanted a smaller form factor after lugging around the 16" pro for 18 months.

Really happy with it so far.

I hear you on the 16”. I went from an M1 Air to the 16” M4 Max thinking the bigger screen would be great and it is but taking it anywhere for work.. lugging around is a great way to describe it.
