finally

just got my macbook air 13in 256. i am currenty posting from this laptop. the first thing i did after setup was to download chrome, i dnt know why but i just wanted to see how that works. also did an update.
battery life is showing 10 hours remaining

anything else i should download or check for?

also do i need antivirus?

yeah, I had hoped that pallet of Macbook Air's would be on the move by now.
Delivery range was 24-26th, Apple showing 25th and UPS stating 'by end of 26th'.

So I think I'll be teased a might longer

Mine used to say 24-26 and everything was green and on the move, but somewhere along the line UPS changed my estimated time of arrival to the 27th and are still trying to make me feel good by calling it on time.

It's going to have to shift some if it's still actually in Germany.

I ordered mine (13", 256GB, 8GB, i7) on june 12th, they shipped it on june 19th and the est. delivery date says july 2th

BUT, Apple's tracking page says "In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule", so it might as well arrive tomorrow (it's 23:31 in my timezone). God I'm so impatient!

I ordered mine through MacMall on the 16th and they still haven't even processed my order. Customer Service says they might have lost the order or something. What a waste of 8 days. I'm ticked.

Oh you know that TNT website is such a joke. Mine supposedly arrived in Melbourne at 4am this morning after being in transit from Sydney last night at 10pm. But anyways I got the text message at 7:45am this morning and sure enough received my MBA around 10am. It did ship on the expected date on TNT's website. But that isn't updated instantly from what I learnt.

It's so worth it though people. Coming from a 2009 MBP 5400rpm / 2.53 C2D. The battery life + speed is just amazing.

The apple apps are open before the first bounce is actually complete !

Yeah. TNT is a joke. First out for delivery at 11am (yesterday). The delivery guy somehow missed my delivery and came out for delivery at 4pm (yesterday) again. There was no delivery until 6pm. I gave TNT a call and ask them to just leave it at TNT depot.

Collected it just now and I'm typing from it!

I love the keyboard! I'm coming from a MB unibody 2008. sheer beauty.

I feel you, they zoomed from China to Germany via Dubai in a day and the skip over the water from Germany to us is taking forever.

Mine hasn't progressed past Processing yet! Bought it on Friday... so I know it hasn't even been 3 business days yet, but the estimated delivery Thursday - Monday. Can't imagine I'll be getting it this week.

Mmm looks like there's been some severe weather over central Germany in the last day or so, so anything going out from the European hub in Cologne might have been delayed.

And there's an extra UK bound flight to Stansted, outside the normal 2 a day, at 4pm so fingers crossed mines on that!
