Mine is still being held hostage in Shanghai by your brother in law. Three days in Shanghai...sounds like an old Bing Crosby-Bob Hope "Road Movie."

Wow..big update:

7/02/2013 - Tuesday Shanghai CN
2:01 am
International shipment release - Import

Four days in Shanghai. A mini-vacation.

What's next for this MBA, I wonder...a side trip to Seoul? A slow boat to Hong Kong? :)

so does "International shipment release - Import" mean it's on the plane?

2:33 am
In transit
SHANGHAI CN
2:01 am
International shipment release - Import
SHANGHAI CN

I would think this is the Chinese version of US customs releasing the shipment to leave the country. It can then leave. It could have been on the plane for the last three days for all we know :)
Mine just decided to take a trip to Japan:

Just bought my first Mac ever (13" MBA w/ 8GB RAM and standard CPU/SSD config).

I opted for the expedited shipping, and ordered the unit yesterday. It shipped out today...but surprisingly from Pennsylvania instead of China (thought it would come from there for sure since it was custom configured).

It's final destination is upstate New York, about 3 1/2 hrs away from Jonestown, PA. For some reason, even with Fedex 2Day, the delivery date is listed for Wednesday (two days from now). The Fedex ground maps indicate it would take only 1 day to reach its destination (Tuesday).

Is there any chance I may see the estimated delivery get reset to Tuesday (tomorrow), being that the unit is a mere 3 1/2 hrs away? The tracking information indicates it has left Jonestown 3 hours ago.

weird, how much more was expedited?

tnhick: I have a bad feeling it will land in AK this morning instead of a more eastern hub. I saw flight FDX28 from RJAA to ANC

Update: had to return mine, i just couldn't get used to 13-inch, plus i got eye stain, screen too cramped.

Shame, SSD was fast......

Maybe i might just stick SSD in my current MBP, and probably wait ti see what Apple brings.

Just ordered my first ever MBA.
Went for the 11" model since I wanted the portability - and I will be buying a max spec 15" rMBP when its next updated, to use as my workhorse anyways.

Spec of ordered 11" MBA in sig.
Was contemplating the 512GB SSD option, but considering it wont be my main system, and I have a portable USB3 and a portable Thunderbolt drive anyways, I really wont need the exra storage on the system anyways!

Now the 'excited like a little kid' phase has started!

Now that the BTS promotion is out I placed my order. i7/8/256 - due in about a week. I already bought an external monitor, USB hub, Thunderbolt-to-HDMI adapter and USB3 to Gigabit Ethernet adapter and a sleeve. Just need the MBA! And possibly an external HD if I can get a really good price on a 2TB or 3TB model.

Keyboard Skin?? lol
I bought my Keyboard skin for it already - just going to order my sleeve for it now!
Mine is also due in about a week (same spec as yours) ;)
I have a Buffalo Ministation ThunderBolt 1TB Portable drive, which I use when video editing away from my main Drobo 5D, but since this system wont be my editing machine (will get an updated max spec rMBP for that soon) I went with the 256GB as I have an external USB3 2TB My Passport drive - prices for these drives were pretty fair, so you may wish to consider one of them......

Just ordered an i5, 8GB Ram, 128GB Air. The $100 AppCard pushed me over.

I'm sure I can sell my current spec'ed 2012 Air for about 1k on Craigslist so overall about $150 to upgrade to a new model with a full year of warranty.

Estimated delivery on mine is the 5th, but according to apple, it arrived in Leicester today, which is pretty close by so i'm hoping it'll make an appearance tomorrow. It's my first ever Mac, so i'm getting crazy impatient! Can't wait to retire my old HP laptop and finally make the switch :D:apple:

I ordered a 13" i5/8/128 at 9am this morning, regular free shipping, and it's already shipped from Jonestown PA. Estimated delivery to Washington DC tomorrow, which is way sooner than I expected to see it, but I'll be happy to have it ahead of my long weekend.

11" i7/8/512 ordered.

Will be replacing my 11" Macbook 2010 C2D 1.6 GHz/4/128 - which is the best laptop i've ever owned.

The new one has some big shoes to fill..
