Just ordered mine! 13", 128GB, 1.3GHz, 8GB RAM with student discount! So excited! My first Mac <3 :apple:

Mine got shipped today (same specs as the Air of the previous post's author). estimated delivery is the 31st, because the MBA and the gift card have to be merged, but I hope I can get my hands on it earlier. Ships to Germany btw.

Got mine last night! I have to send it back on Monday though. A screw wasn't tighted on the bottom and it came out and scratched the bottom of the MacBook Air. Very disappointed. Other than that I love it!! Samsung screen is good too! Hopefully my new one coming next week has a Samsung screen!

Is there an Apple Store in your area? They can probably replace the bottom case for you.

Windows user of 23 years.... Just bought my first Apple, Macbook Air 2013 !

I needed a new laptop and being in the IT field with hands on experience with Windows 8, I just can't go down that road on my personal laptop that I'm going to use everyday.

@steveballmer - "but I don't want to touch my monitor and get it full of finger prints" lol

With all that being said, this will be my first time using OS X, can anyone recommend any online training courses/videos, I saw lynda.com had some nice videos for switchers and on OS X, I was wondering if there was any others like that people could recommend

Thanks All

To be honest, its not that bad as it sounds or looks. I was thinking the same and yeah im still learning things about the OS, buts all in all its not that hard.

N00b here.

MBA 2013 from Education Store with $100 Giftcard Promo ordered on Thursday July 18.

Got email & text notification re: shipping on Monday July 22.

Giftcard already arrived. Computer is due to arrive on Thursday Jul 25.

Let's see how long it takes a computer travel from China to Toronto!

Looking forward to the brand spanking new i5/8GB/256GB MBA. My 2006/7 Macbook has been dying a slow painful death. This replacement is gonna kick ass!

Any reply on when yours is leaving Shanghai?
Mine left Shanghai on the third day. That is, it was picked up the first day, just sat the second day, and then it left on the third day. Arrived 2 business days after that.

Ah, the anticipation. By the way do you know if you got a Samsung screen or LG screen?
I got a Samsung display. I ordered my 13" i5/8GB/128 in the afternoon on Friday the 12th. It shipped on Tuesday the 16th and arrived on Monday the 22nd. A little bit unlucky that I ordered it right before the weekend so it took over a week from the day I ordered it, but it was definitely worth the wait. Coming from a 2009 MacBook Pro, this thing is just amazing. I love it!

Similar to me - (I'm in the UK) Ordered mine 18th, dispatched from Shanghai 22nd - projected delivery date the 30th (my birthday lol) but hoping it's gonna arrive early :)

It's a replacement for one I purchased elsewhere so maybe not the same sense of anticipation, but still looking forward to it.

Ordered my 13" i5/8/256 4 days ago. Beyond excited!!

Coupled with edu pricing and the BTS giftcard.

Shipped just a few hours ago.. looking at taking off the plastic on the 30th :)

I ordered a mb air 13" on july 21 so some days ago - how long does it take for apple to get it into shipping soon status?

placed my order Jul 18 around 5pm local time. Sometime over the weekend, it went straight to shipped by Monday Jul 22.

i'm in Toronto Canada and the ETA from UPS is Thursday Jul 25, but I think most folks in this thread gets their's a day or so earlier.

Since the Giftcard is coming from the US, i received it yesterday.

So today's the day it's out for delivery from UPS, and for 8 hours I've waited.
And nothing still!
Hopefully it will be today and not tomorrow when it's not a day off from work..

Yesterday, I ordered a MacBook Air 13" with 1.7 GHz i7 processor, 8 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD. I'm downsizing my notebook from a MacBook Pro 15" (mid-2012), which I am now selling on eBay, because I am getting the new Mac Pro with a Thunderbolt 2 monitor (you know that is coming) when it becomes available. Won't need such a huge, powerful notebook then.

Can't wait to get 12 hours of battery life. :)

Lol ... exactly the same here - went for the same configuration and via the education store.

Kinda hoping there's a tiny chance it'll be here for the weekend but as it's still sat in Shanghai (has been since Sunday) I doubt it.

Here in the UK it seems to add an extra 5 days shipping to the estimate from reading other post form people in the US.

Just ordered a 13" i7/8/256 MBA. My first Apple product ever. Very excited to give it a whirl. Took advantage of the BTS special as well, beginning my Computer Engineering degree this Fall.

Decided to pull the trigger last Saturday.

Went with 13" i5/8/256 for $1,500US. Was initially planning on getting the same build with i7, but after reading plenty on it, I decided it would defeat the purpose of getting the Air.

Already have a personal gaming desktoo and gaming laptop. This is meant to replace my iPad for carrying overseas as I travel a lot for work. Excel is essential, and the ipad just doesnt deliver. Maybe the coming generations will be more fluent with touch setups. But I meed me a mouse!

I don't think I needed to upgrade the RAM even, but I couldn't control myself it was automatic. As a result, they told me I have to wait around 15 days.
It is turning out to be a very long wait. Would have gotten the 4gb instsntlt, and saved 110usd.

Was initially gunning for 128gb, but I don't want to carry extra drives with me. Very useful at home and office, but it beats the portability purpose if I have to carry a 2.5 everywhere I fly to.

256 should be just right for OSX, Windows, apps and programs, and I can add about 100gb of movies and songs. Thats really little considering I have a collection of around 10TB.

Been 5 days... damn, time ticks slow. Can't wait to get this beauty. My first personal OS X as well.

Sexiest laptop around that's for sure.
