What was wrong with the 15"?

I did see the lagginess which a lot of people denied. It is annoying, I tried to overlook it, but it's rather obvious.

Also, the first gen LG screen with ghosting.

I really wanted to keep it, but all I had read and feared came true. Oh well.

Well I just ordered my MacBook Air.

I'd been in the MacBook Pro section for a few weeks and was pinning my hopes on a Haswell MacBook Pro - but I ran out of patience after yesterdays no show and decided to try my luck with an Air.

I used to be a PC Gamer and ran a full tower ATX system, and over the last year switched to running a Hackintosh and giving up on gaming. I've come to realise my computer requirements are fairly modest now so I decided I wanted to switch to a laptop, and an actual Mac so I didn't have to keep worrying every time I ran an update, and getting frustrated with unexpected system behaviour.

My Air will be treated as a desktop 90% of the time (connected to an external monitor, keyboard and mouse) but I just wanted the luxury of being able to take it on the road whenever I needed. So as a result I only went for the 11" but maxed it out with the i7, 8GB RAM and the 512GB SSD. Hope it has enough grunt for me :) If not I don't think I'll lose too much money selling it on thanks to a good education discount and (being as I am in the UK) getting the auto-uplift to three years warranty.

I'll post again when it's shipped, and when it arrives :) Can't wait!

Good call! With the money you saved over the haswell retina, you can also buy a quad core desktop for anywhere from $400-800 if yuo do decide to game. You already have your monitor(s).

Received my 13" i5/4gb/256 on Monday. Got to say I'm loving this! I went from a late 2008 13" MacBook to one of the new Alienware 17's. After a couple weeks decided the Alienware wasn't really for me. Used to do some PC gaming before my first Mac, and from the day I purchased the Alienware I experienced some serious buyers remorse. So I returned it (Dell's customer service was surprisingly good) and got this guy instead! Going from that 10lb beast to this was a nice change. Very happy with this machine. Glad to be part of the club! :D

Woooo first macbook!

I got my MBA on Monday, after a week desperately refreshing the UPS tracking site - i5/8/128.

But I just dropped my purse zip-side down onto my screen and don't know how to check for scratches - absolutely freaking out at the moment!

About to order my first ever mac, It's a 13"/256gb/8gb/i5 air. It came to £1039 which is still expensive but thankfully I was eligible for the student/university discount. The only bad thing is it could take a week to ger here according to their website.

Would anyone recommend the acne made Sleeve? I was looking on the apple website and that looked like the most appealing case.

Nice pics!

I got my MBA 13 and Airport Express in today as well. Love the form factor. It's zippy as well.

I just need some time to retrain my eyes to the lower resolution screen. I am used to the Dell Latitude E6510 WLED screen and rMBP 15, the fuzziness is definitely noticeable.. for now. :D

Just ordered a new MacBook Air as a replacement for my 2009 MacBook Pro!

Specs are: 13"/i7/256GB/8GB :)

It's shipping to the UK and it's supposed to arrive between 20 Sep, 2013 and 24 Sep, 2013! Fingers crossed it's a little earlier!

That's the one I have and it's a beast! Lightroom works like a champ!

Still on my first MacBook Air 2013 version. Well worth every penny and really enjoy the amount of power packed into this little netbook.

Long battery life and no bloatware unless it is Apple installed which is probably the most reliable on the market. Not going back to Windows 8.

One day, I might go and buy a iMac desktop. But, right now, just the MacBook Air.

I've been using my brand new 11" MBA (i5/8GB/128SSD) for a few days now and I have to say I am absolutely loving this device. Battery life has greatly exceeded my expectations - I'm getting over 10 hours (almost 11) on a charge with a mix of web browsing, word processing and YouTube. One thing I still cannot stand though is OS X. I told myself at the start I would keep an open mind and try my best to get used to a different operating system but it's just not happening. I'm looking forward to saying farewell to OS X when my Windows 7 disc arrives in the mail.

Let us know how it goes! I prefer Win7, but have read that battery life & performance is much better with 8 on the 2013 Air.

I just got a maxed 13" MBA during muy visit to US. I originally wanted a 13" i7/8GB/256GB and tried to order it through B&H but they told me that Apple doesn't allow resellers to accept orders with non american credit card... So I went to Apple store ang got the maxed MBA for me and the 13" MBA i5/4GB/256GB for my wife...

It sounds really strange that Apple accepts non americans credit cards and doesn't allow resellers to do so... I am not sure if the B&H guy on the phone said the truth... I think Best Buy does accept foreign crédito cards since a lot of mexicans do shopping in Laredo and San Antonio...

Anyway, I am very happy with my purchase. Got a 7% discount with EPP, got half of the tax back, and saved a lot thanks to € to $ conversion :D...

Does anyone know if Apple process/dispatch orders on Sunday?

I ordered my MBA on Friday and it still says "Processing Items Dispatched: 1 - 3 business days"! Hoping it's dispatched today!

You might need to be a little more patient :) ordered mine last Wednesday and it only just went to Preparing for Shipping on Saturday evening. I expect it will arrive towards the end of this coming week.
