Picked up a MBA on CL. Found a 2014 4gb 128ssd for $500. (73 Battery cycles). I wanted an 11.6 inch but settled for 13.3 due to price. Not a mark on it. Used it at work today and was quite impressed.

nice find, i paid $300 for my mid-2011 13" MBA w/ 115 battery cycles. owner didn't want to deal with replacing the faulty wi-fi card...

haha, that card (AirPort) is like $12 and is super easy to replace. I know, because I have a spare one myself - thinking about listing it on ebay soon.

If it's a 4GB model, then you basically paid the price of it's logic board alone and some bolts. Nice find!

:D...that's what i paid for the wi-fi card, and yes it's the 4GB model; it took like less than 10min. to replace the wi-fi card.

Bought a 2015 13 inch base model a few weeks ago...the bottom of the casing was very creaky so I exchanged it for a new one...same issue with this one.

Otherwise, I love it especially coming from a Mac mini + iPad Air 2 combo.

That is an excellent price, congratulations.

That's more like a steal than excellent price, lol.

On ebay these start at like $750 + shipping.

Thanks guys. I could not believe the price myself. It was a college student who said he needed the money. He provided the accessories, original box and a nice speck case. At any rate, I'm quite pleased and it has been super useful for work.

@c8rlo looks like you got a great deal as well. Awesome find.

Just bequeathed a mid 2013 13 inch MacBook Air from a family member. I can't believe how incredible the battery life is! I came from a 13 inch rmbp, then back to my old classic 13inch MacBook Pro (with ssd) when my rMBP broke.

After using all 3 in such a short timespan I've realised how much better the Air is for the average joe. I was worried the cpu would be undercooked but it's fine for day to day use! And while obviously I'd prefer Retina display, the screen res is fine!

Well it's more powerful than rMB 12", so it's not 'undercooked' lol.

Purchased a mid-2011 11" Air, with the i7 processor and 4 GB RAM for $420 yesterday. It's still in good shape other than the battery only lasting about 2 hours, but I feel like I still got a decent deal for something that should last me at least a little while.

Minor edit: after updating to El Capitan from Yosemite, the battery now lasts about 4.5 hours, which is pretty close to the standard it's supposed to last as far as I read (also the battery cycle count was like 107 when I got it) so I'm thinking the battery issue was never an issue, but it's good to have it all sorted. I love this little computer so far.

Another one to add to the list, picked up a base model 11" as it was a decent price in the Black Friday sales (£571 after price match and a staff discount!). Sadly as it's a 'part' Christmas present I can't have it yet!

Wow.

I bought my Air three days before Black Friday because I expected that Europe is immune to that. Not this year. First I found the same model 40 euro cheaper. OK, I thought, should have waited. Then 80 euro. Argh. Oh well. Not bothered, not bothered. Then 120 bloody euro. Couldn't resist that. So I am returning my original Air (I can return anything within 14 days) and got the new one.

Original one was made in May. There was something I disliked about the screen: if I scrolled up or down with black text on the screen it would get a pinkish "outline". The new Air has been made TWO WEEKS AGO. 16 November. And although both had Samsung displays, this one doesn't have the "outline" when scrolling text.

So I saved 120 euro and somehow have a better screen and a computer made two weeks ago. Which brings me somewhere. I thought Apple were getting rid of Air inventory. But if they were still making Airs two weeks ago... I don't think the new models are coming anytime before March/April 2016. (If at all.)

Bought a 11" 1.6GHZ / 128GB SSD / 4 GB RAM Macbook Air along with 3 Yr Applecare -- all for $1,008 USD. Finally going to replace my 2006 Macbook Pro that won't let me upgrade the OS beyond Snow Leopard.

That is quite impressive. I thought I held the record for longevity with an early 2008 macbook. Perhaps I should hold on/out a bit longer and hang on to my current macbook? Perhaps 2016 will see some nice revisions and then I can purchase a 2015 on closeout....

It seems like you are on a budget as well and working within your guidelines. Kudos!

Just received a used 2012 MBA 13 4GB/64 GB storage yesterday from OWC for my GF. I paid $397 plus 6 bucks for 2nd day air shipping.

I was weary because the condition was listed as A-OK/Poor Cosmetic. I was expecting scratches all over the place but when I opened it, there were a couple of dents on the edges and one speck on the screen. Otherwise it looked great! Set it up with a clean install of El Cap and migrated her stuff over from my rMBP. No issues so far.

If you don't mind some dings, OWC may be the place for you!

Ordered an 11" 2015 base model Air from Best Buy, used a 10% coupon too, $700 before tax, not too bad.

Would $480 be a good price for a 2014 MBA 11" i5 4GB 128GB? Thinking of upgrading and saw this out and about...considering it
