Got myself an 11" Air on the way. This is my go to traveling Mac since I prefer using it over Windows for my own use. Not to mention I have to pack a Thinkpad around everyday.

I ended up scoring a 13" MBA from Best Buy a few weeks ago for $700. It was an open box return, but the laptop was still wrapped in the plastic envelope.

This is my first Mac, and I'm loving it so far!

A friend of mine just picked up a new MacBook. He then proceeded to tell me how it was a MBP, and how much better it was then my Air, and if your going to buy a MB, there's no point unless it's a Pro. I just let him think he knew everything, while I wore a big smile...

Just ordered the 13 inch i7/8GB/256 from the UK refurb site. I can claim the VAT back so it's costing me £850. After extensive searching this week on eBay/forums etc I figured the refurb deal was the best overall deal

Picked up a 2013 MBA i5 with 8GB RAM and 256gb SSD for 650 USD. Previous owner included Network,HDMI I and VGA Dongles. I think it's a great deal and seems just a bit snappier than my 'oil workhorse of a mid2010 MBP!

I just got a 2015 13 inch Base for $700.00 used. I also got the maxed out iMac Late 2015. I needed a portable computer and I hardly ever do anything outside of home so it will be there when I need it and it won't be a pain to take places.

Just bagged meself a specced out 2015:
11.6-inch MacBook Air
2.2GHz dual-core Intel Core i7
8GB ram
512GB

My good ol' mid 2012 11" MBA will be passed down to the missus. Had considered the Macbook and MBP but decided this little guy still works best for me, all things considered. Chuffed.

Hope you enjoy it @technofunky!

I've bought my Air in November when there were rumours it will be updated for Black Friday. That didn't happen. Then there were rumours it will be updated for Xmas. That didn't happen. Then it was supposed to be pulled completely in March. That didn't happen. I was dreading the thought that it would be updated exactly 15 days after my purchase, get a Retina screen and a price drop, so I'm really happy that didn't happen. I'd kinda love to replace it with a 14" rMB, but 1) it doesn't exist yet, 2) if the 12" starts at €1449 the 14" will be "sell a kidney" sort of expensive if it happens.

So here I am, living with the "terrible screen", SD slot, insanely fast SSD and fantastic keyboard :)

Visited my parents this past week and my dad got a new 2015 13" Air to replace his 2013 13" Air. I happily took his "old" 2013 13" Air (1.3/4gb/256) off his hands to use as my backup laptop. I am in love with the Air all over again, lol, and it may get much more use than I intended. The best part is it only has 11 battery cycles on it after almost 3 years! Bad luck that it has the SanDisk SSD, oh well. I'm not complaining, got a free Air. :D I like it so much again I'm tempted to just sell it and get a refurb 2015 Air w/ 8gb memory + faster SSD and keep that for many years.

After having the 2014 11" refurb for 12 days...Apple made available the 13" 2014 this morning. Both 8/128, $20 difference, so I grabbed it. The 11" is a darling wee thing, but I think the 13" will be better for writing. At least I'll be able to see more of the page at a time.

But ugh. I hate doing returns, and I just finished getting the 11" configured exactly the way I wanted it!

Decided to jump on a refurb 2015 13" 1.6/8gb/256gb and received it this morning. $970 with a $50 gift card. This is my 1st Apple refurb. Looks brand new and pristine condition. Received the Samsung SSD and LG screen. The 2013 Air's LG screen is washed out and yellow tinted compared to the 2015 I just received, I have no complaints with this one at all. Mainly got it due to the SSD upgrade, the Samsung is a bit over twice as fast in read + write vs the 256gb SanDisk in my 2013 model. Overall very happy and great 1st experience with Apple refurbs. Native 1440 x 900 on 16:10 13" screen FTW. Always.

Just made a mega deal, I bought a used 11 inches 2015 8 gb /256 1 year old with 13 cycles and Applecare for 870 euros...
A new one with same stuff would have been 1648, and even a refurb one would not be that cheap..... i mean the unit is flawless it is like new....very happy camper here!

Wow, where you live is even more expensive than Netherlands. 11 inch, 8/256 GB, i7 processor goes for €1489 here. Which doesn't change the fact you got a great bargain!

My price for the new one included AppleCare (to make a fair comparison with the price of the used one i got....wich has Applecare ;) also keep in mind I am talking about i5 processor) but yes in Italy with 22% Iva (vat) is very expensive....happy I got a bargain and it turned out as good as new!

For reference the brand new in Italy

i5 8gb /256 € 1.399,00 + € 249,00 (for Applecare) total € 1.648,00
i7 8gb /256 € 1.519,00 + € 249,00 (for Applecare) total € 1.768,00

Considering I got the i5 8gb /256 for €870 with Applecare I cannot be disappointed!

Looks like this will be a more recent post in this thread in awhile. I bit the bullet on the $800 deal on eBay for the 1.6/8/128 13" MBA from 2015, and I couldn't be happier. I'm looking at prices of replacement batteries, since I'm planning on using this computer for more than 4-5 years - around $100-120! I was just posting the other day that it costs nearly $400 to replace batteries on the MacBooks and MacBook Pro's because of how the top case is glued onto the battery.

And even though they're pretty expensive, if I need more memory, I can purchase the 512GB Samsung SSD for around $400.

IMO, this is the Apple's greatest laptops ever. I couldn't be more happy with the computer at the price I purchased it at.

I just got another one. This time a 13". What a great machine! My wife had been pining for my 11" and I wanted the additional screen real estate. I do kinda miss the portability of the 11 inch MBA
