Is there any word on what kind of availability there may be in the stores on Friday?
I ordered one at 7:02 and immediately got an eta of Aug 2-9th. Midnight, 10/16/1tb. I'm hoping it'll arrive before that. (Chicago) I'm living vicariously through the youtube reviewer videos that posted today. This is replacing my 2016 15" MBP touchbar.
Others have suggested that when we get news out of Australia/NZ on Apple store stock tomorrow, that will give us visibility to your question.
How did you do that? Am in Amsterdam and all store pick ups are Aug 15th now. The Apple Store opens at 10 am here but don’t think they’ll have (m)any non-base configurations in stock. I ordered Midnight 8/16/512 due first week of Aug. What did you order?
Same here. It changed to en route to store. I’ve ordered the midnight 10/16GB/1TB. Original delivery date is 8/8.
If you use the app, you can select your base model and then try different configs to see what's in stock for collection - when you change an item, the delivery status at the top will change straight away to show you when its available for pickup. That's how I found they were doing the 16/1TB BTO option as a stock item.
You can usually do this from about 05:30am in the morning. I've been up implementing a change overnight so just thought I'd check to see if there was any stock available as I've not got a laptop just now so getting it today instead of the 1st is a big help.

Too bad. Any configuration in Midnight says Aug 8th and up. Oh well, I’ll just wait for my BTO and hope it’ll come sooner than the predicted Aug 1-8 🤞🏻 Enjoy yours!! 😎
I guess there’s only been 1 in that specific config in the whole of the country. 😊. I’ll also wait until mine gets in the store. It’s en route to the store according to the app.

Original delivery date was 25th July to 1st of August.
Today status went to Shipped and delivery date is now 21st. 🎉
It shows up in UPS My Choice, it says it is somewhere in China in an EPZ.

Just a general question anyone with BTO with a delivery date of 1st to 8th August, with payment processed yesterday has there order been updated showing coming sooner?

While Apple is still showing the later dates (July 26- August 2), I did get a shipped notification and UPS is showing delivery on July 20. I'm hoping UPS is correct here.
