On the ups GB site enter your apple shipping reference number into the section where it says "no shipping number no problem" I think you'll find your airs in Shanghai mate!

Ah - I was getting worried, I kept putting my number into the tracking bit at the side and it said it couldn't be tracked

Right now it says "Status: Billing Information Received" - looks like Apple hasn't handed it over to UPS yet.

I've to to say that Apple really screwed up in engaging UPS Ireland on this one. Once it gets to Cologne, that will be four stopovers already. This route is a joke. There are plenty of direct cargo flights to Europe.

Wanted to add my experience for posterity...
Just picked up the 11.6" MBA on Sunday.

Background:
I generally follow apple stuff since I am a recovered shunned user of apple since the late 80's who took a break right about when they blew up in the early 2000's(having owned apples through the 80s and 90s, IIc, IIgs, mac classic, LC, Performa 400, Performa 6400, etc...). All I ever saw or heard from people for 2 decades was "Apple is dead" or just general laughs when I mentioned apple...... So I succumbed and took a break till the iphone came out.

NOW:
after about a 7 year "rehab" from the addiction.... I've had 3 models of iphone, MBP13, MBP17, iPad, and now the MBA 11.6 which I am typing on now (all of which I still own and use each and every one of).

The MBA:
it's 11.6" 64 gig base model with 2gb RAM. Basically I have the power to make up for any shortcomings at home (17" MBP for music recording/video/photo editing/etc... and core i7 930 Winblows workstation for heavy duty boring stuff as well as driving the HTPC section of my 94" 1080p projection screen).... Anyway, back to the mac... This 11.6 MBA is great. I can carry it right along side the iPad and it still is less space and weight than my dedicated (read: forced upon me) work computer which is a thinkpad 15". When I travel, I need to carry the thinkpad no matter what, so it'll be nice to have this 11.6 along with it rather than stacking it with the 17" MBP which is heavy as heck in comparison.

Usage of the 11.6:
Being that I own lots of computers of varying power and use all of them, this 11.6 still serves a great purpose. First of all... Yes, the iPad does about 60% of what this does and it does it well, and I still don't mind keeping the iPad as during a car trip, it's incredible for it's constant access to the internet while moving. But beyond the idea of continuous internet, the MBA makes its presence known around town mainly in the fact I can carry it carry easily side by side with the ipad and have 2 worlds open to me. One with the ipad which is ultimate connectivity and convenience while the other with the MBA being huge power for such a light and tiny space. Screen is great (being used to 1920x1200 or more for just about everything it's hard to say that but for the size vs. pixel density it's great)... Now, where do I use the 11.6 MBA? Well, currently I'm at a bar (Charlotte Flying Saucer if you must know), but I'm not one to really tout that I'm out in public using an upber device and attract attention. but I will say this is the perfect bar/coffee house/airport notebook to lug around. Outside of that, I think it's a great secondary/coffee table laptop to have around when you're watching TV or movies on a couch and want just a hair more "computerness" than the iPad.

Final result:
Yet again I'm amazed by what Apple has done and being a reborn Apple fan I can say they did a great job. Whatever strange and almost meaningless shortcomings you can come up with (no backlit keyboard, limited RAM, Limited SSD space), this is still a marvel of technology. To me I think someone will come up with limitations on just about anything since there's no seeming definition of "perfect" but I will say this is a darn good advance towards my own happiness with a product.

I'm fairly confident 90% of the orders came from US customers... so naturally the sheer odds lean toward them showing up here first. Maybe if you're that upset you should buy a British computer... oh, wait... lol ;-)

Oi cheeky, nowt wrong with this Sinclair Spectrum 48k, or the Amstrad, well nothing a new cassette deck wouldn't cure so I could load up Chucky Egg!

I'll stick with a Chinese computer "Deisgned in California" :D

Ok. I admit it. I'm a sucker for apple products :(

First I told myself "who needs one of those when the MBP is so much better?". Then I started looking at reviews, specs and so on. A bit more interesting, but still - no SD? no backlit keyboard? Not that good battery life?

After thinking long and hard about what kind of computer I really need, I came to the conclusion that most of what I do on it is email, surfing, typing documents, watching movies and maybe the occasional light gaming. All of which the Air could handle very well, it seemed.

So I headed down to the local apple reseller to look at the 13" Air, that seemed to be the best buy. Man, the 11" was much more impressibe IRL than on videos / pictures. I fell in love with it. I was originally aiming for the 13", but.. To be honest, when comparing it to the 13" MBP it was just a little bit lighter and smaller along one side. It felt just as "clumsy" as the 13", lacking some features (backlit keyboard, superdrive, optical sound out) and costing more. With the 11" these sacrifices seems worth it due to the ultra-small form factor, but the 13" air felt just like a worse version of the MBP.

So, I ordered an 11"/1.6/4Gb/128Gb on the spot. Felt like 4Gb can be needed, and you never know what the system requirements of Lion will be like. Very happy with my choice in retrospect, now I just need to wait one week for the damned thing to get built/delivered

I received mine on the way out of work this morning around 9:30am PST. This was in Southern California. I didn't think there was any way it would make it to me today but I checked one last time before I left and it said out for delivery, it had only been received at the local station around 6:30am. I put up the signature release form on my door, went to my car, and suddenly the Fedex guy was there and calling me. Hooray!

Gonna feel like a long day at work though...
