Yes, UPS is a joke. They spend about a whole week delivering these things to Europe, not much faster than by boat.

Just bought an 11.6/4GB/1.6ghz MBA at Apple Store
Having ordered online last week and it still not shipped....I thought I'd call around on the off-chance they had a spec'd-out version....
Called the Raleigh NC store at Crabtree and the lady on the phone said that they did, in fact, have the upgraded versions. Having spent a lot of time on this board researchign the new 11 MBA, I was skeptical.
I went it to the store to buy and cancelled my online order that had yet to ship. I asked the guy standing around for it and he assured me that he didn't have anything besides the base models. I told him I guessed it was just misunderstanding over telephone, but asked him to check anyway.
He came back with a fully loaded 11.6 MBA and showed it to his buddies working. They had no idea they had them or why they had them but he said they only ever had a total of 2 logged in their system for sale since the announcement.
tl;dr = Call around and maybe you might find a upgraded version without having to order online

I just received my 11 inch MBA one day early.
1.4 GHz/4 GB RAM/64 GB Flash Storage
I got to say that this is an Awesome machine. The screen is bright and beautiful. It feels like holding a feather and applications open in a snap.
I think my iPad will collect dust for sure.

I ordered my "11.6" - 1.6GHz - 4GB RAM -128GB Flash" MacBook Air from the Apple Store online on Saturday with 2-3 day delivery option. It is Tuesday, and it says "Not yet shipped". Who knows how long they will take? I hope that by tomorrow, it's at least "Prepared for shipment." I'm checking on the hour, I already sold my MacBook Pro on eBay and shipped it off, I plan to use the MacBook Air as my main laptop. Checked it out the other day at Best Buy and the Apple Store (the 1.4GHz 2GB 128GB config was all they had) and I fell in love with the size factor. But, I wanted to get the faster processor and the memory upgrade option and deck it out to the max spec to get the best performance out of this ultraportable. I can't wait to get it!!!
That's been 2 hours in Poland already, but hey this is the most efficient way to ship right? Their server told them so

A huge batch went out on the Shanghai flight that'll be landing in Anchorage in 1 hour from time of this post.

I ordered the exact same spec and on the same day as you. Mine still says: Not yet Shipped. Also noting that it will take 1-3 business to build before it gets shipped out from the factory.
I'm thinking it might not make it in time by Friday so I'd have to wait next week.

I ordered mine on Oct 22, 2010 at 02:34 PM PD and it still has not shipped. It says Ships: 1-3 Business Days (isn't that by today?) and Delivers Oct 26 - Nov 1. I called my local store in Texas but they do not have any MBAs with 4 GB of RAM and definitely don't have the 13.3/2.13GHz/4GB MBA. Since I can still cancel on the website, I was hoping to expedite.
Lots of folks are posting that they received their unit but it would help if you would include your order date/time so we can see where they are in the order flow!

According to UPS tracking information, my Air has been stuck in Louisville, Kentucky since 3AM last night. I checked flightaware this morning, and a UPS flight from Louisville to Toronto arrived around 6AM, but the status on the tracking page has not changed. In fact, it doesn't even state that it has left Lousville at all (still at the Arrive Scan).
Anyone else notcing a smiliar situation shipping to Toronto?
By the way, I ordered a max'd out 11" on Oct.20 at around 12:30PDT (soon after the store became live). I also DID NOT pay for expedited shipping.

I ordered it around 7pm on Oct 22nd and the order updated with a tracking number last night. Only update is that it was picked up in Shanghai. Estimated delivery date is the 28th. Hope that helps
You'll get nowhere crying about UPS with those of us in Europe. Our computers are on a leisurely world tour care of Big Brown ****.

I wonder how long from this point until I take actual delivery based on Standard shipping? It's showing a delivery of: 10/27 - 11/02. hmmmmm...
[Update] Status is now Shipped and Fedex is displaying that it is "picked up" in Shanghai CN. Delivery est. is 11/02. I really hope it gets here on Friday....
