WOOOOWWWWW! That's messed up. From what I've seen in the building I live in, people get their computers delivered with no problem, but I was so scared of having an issue with them, it's an expensive item. I've never had an issue like that with UPS... However, USPS... That's another tragedy.

Where are you based US or EU/UK..?

It was accepted today in Shanghai but I dont see a customs hold though I am sure there will be one/ Also planes don't leave every day.

As dumb as that sounds, but they may forgot your package or it was full. Either that, your parcel was the unlucky one, or the aircraft is broken

Same here. 🙂 Apple now says it will arrive next Monday. UPS doesn’t have a new date yet.

I ordered a Midnight 8/10/16/512 with original delivery date of Aug 2-9th. When I finally got charged a couple days ago. It updated to Aug 1-8. Then when I got the tracking # I looked at FedEx it said July 28th delivery. Yesterday I checked FedEx and it updated to July 22nd, hurray! Today I check FedEx and am in the same boat. “Clearance Delay - Import” with a delivery day of pending. This sucks because it was just in transit from Memphis, TN. I hope all is well and it arrives here in NY on one of those previously mentioned dates. Especially because I already initiated a return for it yesterday because of all the midnight fingerprint reviews, I want to order a Space Grey version. But I also wanted to try it out first for a week to see if that actually bothers me. My return window has already begun and I’m missing out on a few days of testing time.

This delay is normal. China is not in a pre-pandemic state.

I was just hit with the mechanical failure delay myself. Apple still shows EDD of July 25, but UPS isn’t providing a date at all.

I've since gotten an update stating that they had been unable to load my package on the plane as scheduled followed by a "Your parcel is on the way". The estimated delivery date is back and it's still saying Thursday.

Getting it before the weekend would feel like a miracle, still.

They must have quite the backlog in Louisville. Mine has been sitting there for 66 hours. It finally cleared customs this morning. Hopefully it'll make it onto an Atlanta flight tonight or early tomorrow. I did notice that they changed the product from Worldwide Express to Next Day Air, so hopefully that moves it up in the queue. I really can't (and shouldn't) complain... I'll have it soon enough.

All airlines are dealing with pilot shortages right now, and I'm sure UPS is no exception, so I imagine their schedules are rather easily messed up when there are IROPs of some kind or another.

Mine says the exact same thing and is in Memphis too! I’m here in Atlanta so It’s so close yet so far. I also have the same exact configuration so ours are probably together. I’ve been thinking about a return for the midnight but It just looks soooo nice 😭 plus I know if I returned it I would just buy the 14” pro. I’ll see how it looks in person though!

So funny story: I just went to check the status of mine a moment ago, and the while the Macbook itself still says Processing, my gift card went from order received to Processing as well. This is new and wasn't like that when I checked earlier this morning. Fingers crossed I have a shipping notification tomorrow.

Just got another update from UPS. My Macbook is in Korea now, with a new EDD of Friday, July 22! One day later than UPS previously estimated, but still earlier than Apple’s date of July 25.

I just noticed that the 28th is mentioned in my Apple shipping notification as well. The app still says Aug 1-8. Let’s hope UPS is right (27th) ☺️

yeah, UPS seems to not care for exact status, Zhengzhou is responsible for the customs checkup which means the report "arrived" at their inbox to approve, not the parcel
I worked at TNT and we used to do the same thing, checking the shipment's customs and just ticking it as ready when the plane was closed and ready. I have a bit of experience in that work field, first thing when pre-ordering is always to check when 5X11 flies after customs are ready ^^

Also notice that 5X11 is just the callsign, meaning even if the current machine doesn't have your MBA and is on the way back to Seoul (as 5X20 I guess), there's already a new 5X11 arriving in Shanghai as 5X10 changing to 5X11 for your package.
this step should be visible as at least arrival / departure in korea. In the most cases (all for me) UPS does not mark it as departed from China but that could also come up, meaning it is definitely in 5X11
