Well while I was sleeping my MBA made it to Alaska. UPS is still adament that it will be delivered before 2:45p EST (about 2 hours from now) but it still is not showing that it left Alaska. I am hoping maybe tomorrow? Not sure if I should plan to be home for delivery tomorrow or if Friday is more likely. Apple says i twill be here Monday. 🤷♀️

Update. At 6:30 pm the UPS driver came to my house and asked if I was “the lady from the computer?”. He said he didn’t remember coming here this morning (duh…) and after mentioning the name John he said that he thinks he accidentally delivered it at an office in the morning where he delivered 2 other packages. He was flustered, said he couldn’t go there now but would make some calls and go there tomorrow morning. There’s still hope! Let’s hope he’s right and that the people at the office are decent (it kinda worries me that they clearly didn’t call UPS about a wrong delivery all day..). Will give an update tomorrow. Happy waiting/unboxing everyone ☺️
He should have gone immediately back to the place hoping they had not opened the package. By tomorrow, there is little hope. In fact, he should have been give all the info and gone there...not showed up at your place empty handed.
Yeah. I asked him to go there and get it but he said the office was closed. It’s close by so I drove there myself and it was closed (closes at 5 pm). He should have answered his phone earlier in the day so it would have been sorted out now. A small part of me thinks he might have made this story up and needs to pick it up wherever he took it to be sold… Hopefully I’ll get an unopened box tomorrow. Haven’t canceled the new order yet…
Final update. I ordered Midnight 8 CPU/10 GPU/24 GB/1 TB on the morning of July 8th and received a confirmation email at 8:04 AM EDT (4 minutes after the store opened) for delivery at an Apple Store near where I am working. I was originally given a date of August 9th. Subsequently, the iPhone Apple Store app showed 2-3 weeks and then eventually July 29th. The Apple website orders page only ever showed 2-3 weeks until July 27, 1:31 PM EDT when I got the your order is ready for pickup notification.
Picking it up after work today.
This is highly suspicious. But you mentioned earlier that he seemed flustered, so I guess that bodes well for him not being a thief.

I ordered a 8 core / 16 GB / 512 GB midnight MBA on July 22 with an expected pickup date of August 16. Earlier today my card got charged for the full amount of the order, whereas before there was just a $150 preliminary charge. In everyone’s experience, does this mean that shipping will be soon, or that the order has just been processed? Not expecting to receive my order for another couple of weeks but getting it earlier would be a nice surprise.
Definitely earlier. It is usually ships the same day that they charge you and then a week or so shipping (maybe less).
I’d say bring along your drivers license/passport/national id just to be safe. This way they’ll at least believe you when you say who you are.
Depending on where you live in the US, barring no delays, you're looking at a few days at a minimum. Prob early/mid next week. Should get it a little sooner if you're in the EU.

Really cool to see comparison to the 11” MB Air, thanks for posting! Makes me consider this one for future purchases vs having the fairly heavy keyboard for my 11” ipad. If only they’d put a cellular capability in these portable laptops, like are available for ipads.Look what just got delivered by UPS - and a comparison to my trusty old 11 inch MBA (mid 2013). Almost the same width, greater depth, lower height on the back, higher on the front, and weights just 100g (1.2 kg vs 1.1 kg) more. Hope your MBA is arriving soon! Have fun as well!

I have a very similar timeline as you, even down to the UPS shipping date being tomorrow, then Friday, now TBD. Apple site says the 2nd and Apple Store app says 1-8th, so I'm just going to expect the 2nd and be pleasantly surprised if it's sooner.

Delivery Date is updated every time there is a departure scan.
‘well thats the delivery that is exposed to the consumer On the web app. There is other information only UPS tracking can see That they won’t tell us like the reasons for to-be-determined tbd.
