anyone's get to east midlands last night but no further movement because bank holiday? DHL express had told me that I should expect it tomorrow, but wonder if they can get it from East Midlands to London and delivered tomorrow.
Hopefully it will arrive on time, I’ve seen a quick turnaround from the UK arrivals.

What was your timeline? Mine has just cleared customs in Hong Kong but I’m not sure how long it will be before they get a flight to EMA.

I heard there might not be updates until it reaches the Uk and wondered if that’s your observation.

Mine had full updates, from pickup, transit to Hong Kong, to Bahrain to East Midlands to home. They usually use connecting flights everyday. Mine is home but being replaced as scratches on the lid

That's great, thanks for the info!

Perhaps those that did not get full updates were bulk shipments, and the individual pcs were broken up at EMA.
I'll keep an eye out on if it goes to Bahrain. That's an interesting route! I think the alternative pathway was through Cincinati but I have not seen any UK posters go into that detail.

Cleared HKG customs yesterday overnight.

So - @ UK customers expecting their products this week!
The last update suggests the package is still in Hong Kong, but I have a UK customs release processing message.
The time between these two events somewhat rules out a direct flight in that time.

I assume there could be a stop in Bahrain but no tracking activity as of yet.
Fingers crossed yours is on the same plane.

Mine just arrived in Memphis from Japan at 5:27 AM. Curious if it gets up to NY today. Hopeful for a Wednesday delivery.
I was hoping for the same, mine arrived the same day, but earlier at 1:53 am. But then sat in memphis and now as of last night, "Clearance delay - Import" is the status, now with no more scheduled delivery (Was friday by Noon.) I'm in NC so the trip here is short but I'm still hopeful for friday...Apple's order status reverted from "Delivers by Sept 6" to now "Sep 6 -14" 😢

Mine is also now marked as Clearance delay. I guess it's wishful to thinking it can be out for delivery on Thursday. I'm thinking best case it ships to NY tonight (Wednesday) it gets loaded onto the trucks Thursday, and out for delivery Friday.

On my case, this morning, the tracking is updated:

On the Way
Arrived at Facility
ZhengZhou, China

The Scheduled Delivery contiues to 05/09. I am not hopeful that the delivery will be advanced to this Friday :( According to the UPS website, the service used by Apple: UPS Worldwide Express Saver, has a transit time from China to Europe of 2 days. In practice it is more than triple!

Finally jumping on the Apple silicon bandwagon.

Ordered midnight Air 10 core GPU, 24GB RAM, 1TB storage.

Will use as my daily portable and see if it could replace my 10 core iMac for work.

If and when the new MacBook Pro 14 with m2 max comes out, I will hand this air over to my wife. Maybe.

Mine seems to have finally cleared customs and is now in my city’s destination sort facility. Hoping for delivery tomorrow…

It's here and it's perfect!
No signs of any of the reported build defects. Please try not to worry about your computer's condition, mine arrived safe and sound as will many units. :)

Silver 8 Core / 256GB / 16GB / 67W charger. Picked up on the 27th of August in China, delivered in the UK on September 1st. One day before the earliest date in my original delivery estimate.

I understand this isn't the case for everyone and have every sympathy, but I think seeing a number of threads made me presume there would be a small issue I have to live with. This has not turned out to be the case, just an FYI everyone who might be having the same worries.

My Day 4 review: This computer is really worth the wait.

RAM and CPU Use:
My 16GB RAM upgrade means I have about 6GB of cached files for more efficient handling of the stuff I use the most and an additional 2GB of user with my typical workload. I have yet to see the CPU working beyond 6% of its capacity, with an Air Radar open in Safari (In addition to several other processes running at 2-3%).

We all know that Mac OS is particularly good at handling any amount of RAM with good user experiences, so if you chose 8GB, I believe you'll still avoid swap, but with fewer files in that easy-access cache. The difference made would probably be minor. I expect this computer to last me for years.

256GB SSD:
That "slow" 256GB SSD feels seamless. I think we are beyond the point of the speed differences affecting the workloads of most users; take those benchmarks you'll find online with a pinch of salt.

Other: The keyboard is lovely, I really like it. As is the new Touch ID sensor, it just seems more accurate from my limited use of the old one. The screen is nice and bright for outdoor use. Battery life is excellent too.

Good to hear. I am giving my 2017, 15 inch MBP to my 11 year old for school.

I wanted a smaller MacBook when I got mine but they were all dual core intels.

Great to hear! I have upgraded from two older Intel based machines that were very different from eachother. But the jump between my 2019 i5 iMac to this M2 Air is far greater than the difference between that same iMac and the 2013 MacBook Pro (15, i7).

I know it has been said and done, but Apple have made some serious progress with their own processors and the sooner we all try out Apple Silicon the better!
