I got an SMS from UPS that my MPA will be delivered tomorrow morning... During night, apparently it went through customs in Hong Kong and now it is in Dubai. I think it will be shipped to Cologne first then to Belgium overnight. Let's see how it goes...

Apple still says delivery as 17-19 October.
UPS first said 12 October and still the same date but timing is changed (It was in the morning now it says afternoon)

I traded in my 2019 intel MacBook Air for the the M2 midnight MacBook Air with 16 GB of RAM and I’m so excited for it to get here! I know the midnight color gets fingerprints but I love the color so much I don’t care haha

I ordered my first MacBook ever today, the M2 MacBook Air, Space Gray (16GB/1TB). Really excited!
Have you received yours yet? I’m wondering what to expect in terms of how long it’ll take to ship. Earliest date in the delivery range is the 16th for me. I ordered mine last night for reference.

I ordered mine from Adorama in NY through Amazon, and it says it’ll arrive Thursday. Whether or not that actually happens, well, we’ll see.

I just ordered the MacBook Air M2 in Midnight with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive. I have been doing digital photography since 2001, so over the years I have a pretty large library that I like to keep with me. And since you can no longer just replace the HD, you have to go big!

I’ve been using MacBook Pros since 2006, so this is the first time in a long time being with Apple’s consumer laptops, but the M series seems so powerful that most people don’t seem to need the extra power of the Pro. And the Air form factor is amazing, with great battery life to boot.

Ordered my M1 MacBook Air (256/8) on Amazon. Took advantage of a great discount of $200 Off. I paid $799.

All I need it for is writing, occasional light Photoshop work, and internet, so the base model is perfect for me.

After nearly 10 trouble-free years on a 2012 i7 Mini, I just ordered an M2 Air, Midnight, 16GB RAM, 2TB SSD.

Gonna be a hell of a leap in tech, which I am looking forward to very much. :)

Now to find a decent powered port hub/dock.

I ordered a Midnight M2 MBA with 24GB memory and 2TB storage today for delivery on Wednesday. VMWare released Fusion 13 last week with support for Windows 11 ARM, and the requirement for that support was what was keeping me on an Intel-based MBP. This new machine is significantly lighter and smaller than my current 16" i9 machine, and is even a bit lighter and considerably more flexible than the iPad Air/Magic Keyboard combo that I took on a trip to Asia over the last couple of weeks. I used a 2012 i7 MBA for 5 years and it was the best laptop I've ever had. I'm hoping this new one provides a similarly excellent experience.

The wife sold her iPad 9 to some relatives and got herself a Silver M2 MBA yesterday. It's an 8/256 machine, which for her extremely light uses (web browsing mainly), should be more than adequate. Am hoping to combine/centralize all our music on my iMac and then in time, once she gets used to it, might float the idea of getting a dock & stand and using this as a de-facto desktop replacement (so I can finally retire my 11yr old, High Sierra-equipped Mac Mini she also uses)

My M2 arrived last week and I am still setting it up, and also waiting on the hard protector shell and soft keyboard protector skin before I use it much.

Did have an issue with being unable to set the time and date to my time zone, but I have the 2TB SSD partitioned into two, so I downloaded a copy of Ventura and did a fresh install on the other partition, swapped to that for the main/boot drive, and that seems to have fixed it.

Otherwise a very nice machine, particularly loving the screen. :D

Have the 8GB RAM/512GB SSD MBA. I got a bit worried but after reading all the reviews, AND realizing I could get the above version for $50 more than the base version, I purchased the one above. The IT guy in me would love to have max RAM/SSD, but honestly, I used my previous laptop for surfing, music, and some basic research/photo editing, and the one I purchased can EASILY handle that, even several years from now, I'm sure.

I just bought midnight M2 base model at best buy for $150 off. Had a 2020 Intel that I sold to my sister in law for 2x what BB was offering for a trade. Loving the new screen, speed and form factor. I'm sure I'll love the battery, too.

Hi! I knew I’d find a little waiting room in here :) (just joined macrumors today)
On December 10th I ordered through Apple, a MBA M2 1TB 24gb unified memory, 8gpu 8cpu. in Starlight.

Last night I got the shipping notification & I am using a third party app called Shop to easily track my orders from various sites. Latest update is arrival to the Airport in China. Expected delivery is Dec 28.
[Edit: FedEx expects to Deliver on Dec 22 by 4:30pm]
[Edit 12/21: I’ve had an update to say it will be delivered today/Dec 21!!!]
[Edit: MBA made it home!]

My last Apple computer was a standard MacBook back in 2010. It was a well loved trooper, and eventually ran out of battery life and couldn’t catch or hold a charge anymore. I almost scheduled a battery replacement, but I held back. I’m very excited about this new one.

Had an 11" MBA for 11 years now and finally upgraded to the M2 today. It's on it's way - went for the 8core/8core, 16gb, 512 SSD. My last Air was an 8gb ram 128gb, an i7. Actually I'm typing this on it right now. It's still good for writing, bluetooth headphones, browsing, but not much else. Battery life is a couple hours at best and it does the whole turn off if it gets too hot thing now. Brightness increase button no longer works (hasn't for years - i use Brightness Slider in the menubar), and the hinge has lost a bit of resistance. And it gets really, really warm. But damn, for an 11 year old computer it still flies, still instant on. I don't think i'll be able to get rid of it, maybe there's still a use for it. Maybe a giveaway to the right person at the right time.

The M2 I'm pretty excited about. Mainly because I'll be able to do things on it I couldn't do on the 11". For me, i live a dual laptop lifestyle - the Air is for chilling and travelling, and an MBP 2017 is my main workhorse when I need more power. But the M2 will be able to do a little more now - to me the Air is also a sketchpad machine, somewhere where I can flesh out ideas, but then finish up on my main machine.

I think that's one thing most reviews i checked out never take into account, it was always from the perspective of the Air being your only machine - and if you needed more performance, you should instead get the 14" Pro. I almost went there, but to me that would replace both my 11", and my 2017 MBP. And the truth is, I don't really like this gen of Macbook Pro's, too chunky and heavy for my liking. I prefer the Touchbar thinness. And we lived with dongles for so long, hell, I'm used to it now. I don't gain anything by getting a HDMI port back, and now we lose a Thunderbolt port in the process.

So I've actually decided I'm waiting for that rumoured 15" to replace my MBP, I think it will be the launch M3 product, and with a bit of luck might even come with a third Thunderbolt port, and maybe even an SD slot. And that enabled me to go for the M2 Air, and forget about the 14" Pro. I'm actually really curious to see how the Air stacks up against my MBP - I think the 15" will still trump the M2 in certain graphics tasks, but then who knows, maybe not.

So I'd just say to folks who are in the same boat, don't caught up in the whole "you need the 14" thing" if you have a multi-mac lifestyle. It took me a while to land on it but I'm happy to have landed on the Air, and it frees up my main machine to become something else in the future. I did also almost go the base model, but, if I'm going to use this machine for another 10 years, 16gb and 512 seemed like a wiser move.

If you're going to buy a new Mac it is always better to get one with the most RAM/Storage drive configuration because once you get one, you won't be able to upgrade the computer since RAM/Storage drives are now soldered on components. The main reason I stubbornly stay with my 2015 Macs is because I can still upgrade my storage drives as my needs change.

Yes, the newer Macs have much improved performance as compared to the 2015 Macs I am using but speed is not a major requirement for how I use my Macs so I am content using them and with Open Core Legacy Patcher, I have installed MacOS 13 Ventura on them. I can continue using my Macs until Apple has made a complete transition to their silicone processors. At that time I will have to consider my options. I still have time . . .

I have today ordered m.2 Air base 256gb Starlight Gold.
Any further storage is to be external when required.
Interested to know if any fix is decided for unmounted devices.
Looking forward to returning to mac OS.

I just got my MBA 8/8/16GB 1TB SSD and have had no issues using an ADATA 240GB USB-C SSD to transfer my data and use as a backup disk (CCC). Software update didn't work, the System was at 13.0 and the iBoot firmware was out of date. However, booting into the Recovery partition (power key down at startup from a cold start) and selecting Install OS fixed everything. All updated now.

Just joined the M2 Macbook Air crowd. Loving this thing! M2 Air, Midnight 8GB Ram 10-Core GPU 512GB SSD.

Normally would have been $1499 but was $1150 as an open box with Best Buy marked as “Excellent”. I had a 2nd Gen iPad Pro 11 inch with 256GB that I was using as a personal computer but after a few years it was just not cutting it anymore. That netted another $320 off which made it under $945 out of pocket.

It's been so nice to use and the battery life is freaking amazing.

I knew it was a gamble but it worked out well. It was brand new Pretty sure whomever bought it originally opened the box, didn't like the color and returned it. It has 2 just two finger prints on the whole thing (gotta love that it's a fingerprint magnet). It had the wrapping on it and was clear it was partially unwrapped. The magsafe power cable was still all properly wrapped up as was the power brick. Apple warranty only started 5 days before I purchased it.

Starlight 8 core / 10 core bumped to 24GB and 1TB just arrived. It was replacing a first-month-purchase M1 air that my dog broke the screen on.

The build feels great, though it’s going to take a while to get used to the feet. Love having MagSafe back (wouldn’t have helped with the dog situation but it’s been a savior in the past). Love the bigger screen.

I’ve definitely noticed improvements in wake speed and app loading. I don’t do any image editing.

Wish I could carry the dual USB-C charger more readily. I just don’t have the space in my cord pouch to carry that and my stay/go dock so I’ll stick with the single-port slim charger I have.

I’ve got a leather sleeve on the way for a bit more protection in my backapck.

I had seriously considered 512gb in Space grey considering lack of starlight gold 512.
opted for 256 gold.

I was looking for a nice and slim leather sleeve for my M2 Air, which one did you go with? The battery life is great, and since my Jeep has USB-C built in (along with a routed cable) I prob won't have to carry anything but the Air when I take it on the go. My friends and family all have USB chargers or USB built into their sockets (and I have a spare in my Jeep), so I'd probably just have to throw a USB-C cable in the sleeve.
