I was looking for a nice and slim leather sleeve for my M2 Air, which one did you go with? The battery life is great, and since my Jeep has USB-C built in (along with a routed cable) I prob won't have to carry anything but the Air when I take it on the go. My friends and family all have USB chargers or USB built into their sockets (and I have a spare in my Jeep), so I'd probably just have to throw a USB-C cable in the sleeve.
Went with this one on Etsy. It hasn’t arrived yet but the reviews and good, and specifically mention a snug fit and soft interior.

Just joined the M2 Macbook Air crowd. Loving this thing! M2 Air, Midnight 8GB Ram 10-Core GPU 512GB SSD.

Normally would have been $1499 but was $1150 as an open box with Best Buy marked as “Excellent”. I had a 2nd Gen iPad Pro 11 inch with 256GB that I was using as a personal computer but after a few years it was just not cutting it anymore. That netted another $320 off which made it under $945 out of pocket.

It's been so nice to use and the battery life is freaking amazing.

I knew it was a gamble but it worked out well. It was brand new Pretty sure whomever bought it originally opened the box, didn't like the color and returned it. It has 2 just two finger prints on the whole thing (gotta love that it's a fingerprint magnet). It had the wrapping on it and was clear it was partially unwrapped. The magsafe power cable was still all properly wrapped up as was the power brick. Apple warranty only started 5 days before I purchased it.
I got an exact same open box config at my Best Buy but had to return because it was out of the window of eligibility for AppleCare+. Everything else about it was great.

I bought a Midnight M2 MacBook Air 10 Core GPU, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD at Best Buy for $1349 yesterday. I haven’t opened it yet to see if there is going to be a better discount at Costco.

That sucks! Yeah mine was only a couple days from when it had to have been purchased, there was only 54 days left to purchase AppleCare+ I very much got lucky for sure.

I’ve joined the MBA side! After weeks of back and forth I landed on a refurb M2 Air 24gb/1TB and an LG Ultrafine 4K. Ultimately I just don’t need a pro machine, but the 24gb makes me feel better… may not be necessary right now but might in the future, plus I just want the shiny toy 😅 I went with starlight because I think it’s gorgeous! It replaces my 2013 MBP.

Be aware that the Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter from Apple will only work at 100 MPs or slower. It cannot operate at 1 gig speeds. MBA does not have the proper drivers regardless of the MacOS version. Get the Anker USB-C to Ethernet, preferably the 2.5 gig version, to get the best speed.

Ide like to try, if I can find my Thunderbolt 2-Ethernet Adaptor.

Thanks for the heads up! I’ll go ahead and switch it out then. I can easily make the return in the Apple Store :)

Annoying that Apple sells, and advertises, a product that does not perform to the advertised specification. I found out after the 14 day return window. Not only is the Anker device cheaper, it works at full advertised speed. I don’t know if the Apple adapter works at full speed on any of their computers. It worked on my Surface laptop, but not on the MBA.

The problem is the chipset in the adapter. Apple does not have the proper drivers and defaults to a generic driver. That driver operates at 100 Mbs, not 1 Gig. A major misstep by Apple.

I'm liking darker Apple devices (phones, tablet, Mac these days). I currently run a two computer setup - home computer (currently iMac) and laptop. As of now I am not tempted by any of the new combinations to replace my M1 iMac - waiting for the M3 iMac (I am guessing next year). So I decided to upgrade my laptop from M1 to M2. Went midnight, 16GB, 1 TB SSD. Ordered and picked up from the Apple Store as they stock that model. Added three years of AppleCare. Didn't see the real upside of going to 24MB - maybe I will for my next laptop.

I am really liking the color, keyboard, screen, MagSafe, and camera. Performance seems slightly snappier, but that wasn't the primary motivator as M1 with 16GB ram (my former machine) is still great.

Liking this a lot to far.

Needed a web browsing machine. Just picked up an M2 Air base model. It's a temporary machine, probably only be used for a few weeks/months. Whilst I wait for the 15' Air. Otherwise I'll just bite the bullet and get the Pro if the 15' doesn't happen or is overwhelming.

Just ordered the same exact model. Should be here tomorrow. Going from a base model 2018 Air. My kids will inevitably turn it into another Minecraft machine, so the M2 with 10 core GPU, extra RAM and 1 TB SSD should help. 😃

Picked up a new 8/10/16/1Tb from the local Apple Store yesterday. Clearly this is not a popular combination as it had Monterey installed and the battery is showing 237 days old. It doesn't have any charge cycles so it's not an 'old' one but it's probably been sitting in the stock room, unloved, since it was manufactured.

I just bought a refurbished a 2022 M2 MacBook Air from the Apple Store. I customized it a little and bought 16 GB of memory and 512 GB hard drive and so far I am loving this computer. I used to own a 2017 MacBook Pro which I loved but had problems with heating issues when I was charging the computer. It got so overheated I got nervous and made the jump. I just started college this spring and I needed a good computer since I am only taking general requirements for a degree and I was thinking of majoring in computer programming or software development. The Apple Advisor recommended it and it is running faster than my old one. Highly recommend this computer. It was a bit steep in price but I am going to have this computer for at least 5 years so I thought it was worth it.

How do you customize a refurbished MacBook from the Apple Store? There’s no way to customize these; how they’re sold is how they come.
