of course the day that fedex always comes before 11am has not come yet...we'll see what time it gets here but it's already 3:15. are they supposed to come before 4:30? the estimated delivery was for tomorrow at 4:30 but it is on the truck now.

My first impression is that it's heavier than my Rev. B.

I know that isn't possible, but it does feel heavier.

It also feels more solid. Hard to quantify that, but it has a rigidity that the Rev. B didn't.

No loose hinge or creak.

Haven't fired it up yet.

the netdog has the air!

long time coming though phew.

this new air really is so beastly, its phenomenal the performance achieved compared to the specs.

Eh?
How long does it take to fly from Shanghai, China to Alaska? 24 hours? UPS hasn't changed its status to Arrival Scan yet since it left yesterday at 10am est. Shipments made with FedEx were fast and informative. Something fishy is going on.

It's odd. Because the edges are squarer, it looks bigger in all dimensions. Oddly, it is exactly the same size footprint, and a little thinner than the Rev. B.

Sold my computer that's in my signature down below for $825 today (great return!) and I went online and purchased the 11.6", 64GB SSD with the 4GB of ram.
:)

I think the new MacBook Air is really nice. Congratulations on that great sell, and subsequent purchase! So it's a new Mac for next to nothing!

For people who don't do much heavy lifting on their computer, the new MacBook Air are ideal. And you can still hook them up to a big monitor. Great travel computer. Much, much better than the previous Airs.

I keep thinking about the PowerBook 12". I loved that design.

If you don't mind the smaller screen, I think you'll really like the Air compared to you old computer.

You'll find it's a lot faster and more responsive than your MBP. ;)

Weird that we ordered around the same time last Saturday and you got your tracking number before I did, but mine has left china. :)

Mine is also stuck in China since the 27th. I was told that a load of packages (120 of them) were delivered to the terminal 15 minutes after the plane left. However, it is already the 29th in China and my computer is still there. What time does the daily FedEx flight leave China?

Yeah, I don't know why they started using UPS for shipments to Canada. Fedex was fast and informative. Mine shipped today and eta is Nov 2nd according to Apple and Nov 3rd according to UPS.

Alternatively one can always get an ACD to go with the MBA. So one would only be constrained by MBA's smaller screen while being mobile.

Oh jeez... 15 minutes and all this grief?! Maybe they shuttled them quickly on their way without a scan on the next available flight. Who knows, all the scans may show up magically tonight as already being in the next major hub or more!

Just hopeful thinking...

Wow. Gorgeous display. Dead silent. Very fast. Incredibly responsive.

A++++++

I know that the 11.6" works for many, but I am so glad that I got the 13". Wonderful yet truly portable workspace.

Gobsmacked.

2.13 with all the fixings. I named it Joy.

OMG, after clicking on the UPS tracking numerous times yesterday and today, there's finally been an update!! It sat in Louisville for 1.5 days...

LOUISVILLE, KY, US 28/10/2010 15:39 DEPARTURE SCAN

Based on the route that others have reported, I'm going to set my hopes of getting it Monday, not tomorrow, since it still has to go to a number of different UPS depots before getting to Toronto. Sigh...

Good to hear that the people of the first batch got their MacBookAir.
I got mine too and it sure is a great thing. Glad that mine didn't have a loose hinge or something.
Thanks everybody for the great time we had. :)
I'd surely miss the refresh-all-day-long... hahaha.

It's a 7 hour flight, but they are gaining 13 hrs (crossing the date line).

I lost hope when it had the same status this am as yesterday. Did they forget where they stored the boxes that missed the flight? I'm trying to figure out how many flights FedEx has from China to Anchorage per day. It's now 4:30 am (10/28) in Shanghai - time will tell.
